A good eating. I do not attempt to adjust your ready. There's nothing wrong. We have taken control as to bring you this special show and fleet. Your attention please. But I just gotta know one thing. Are you ready? High said what's up? What's up? Park would you the organization. Welcome to the second annual beef and beer raising money for our veterans. Before we get started, I just wanted to give a quick shout out to Jacensky for putting all this together once again. Second Year in a road that Jay's really kick some serious ass putting this thing together. Also want to give a shout to all the members of park would youth organization for helping this thing run smoothly, putting this all together, helping Jay run it. It's a wonderful event. If you're listening live, get down here. We're three thousand, three hundred and one Mechanicsville road and the beautiful northeast Philadelphia. I'm your host, John Crichton, host of two hundred and five live every Monday night, seven and nine on wildfire radiocom to my left a park would staple. You all know him and love him, Mr Dick Martin from the Sant Abud first podcast. WHAT'S UPDIKE? Either in there? John, thanks, pretty intro. Hey, listen, you know, some people don't need an intro. You know how you have like a certain boxers, certain wrestlers, or walk into the ring and you don't need to give them an intro. You're right up there with those guys. Wow, you know, you just show up and people know who it is. Actually, I think the music stopped when you walked in early. You know I mean, because you're so up there in park with turn it up so real quick. We're here, like I said, raising some money for veterans. We got the Army Navy game today. We'll talk a little bit about that later. I do want to get started. Obviously we know eagles play a Dallas. It's Eagles Dallas Week, right. We know that this game probably has bigger magnitude than it has in the last couple of years, because I think we're in agreement that if they lose this game this week, seasons pretty much over at that point, right. So it is. Yea. So it feels good to finally have an Eagles Dallas game that actually mean something. If they win them are they're tied for first place and obviously with their own destiny in their hands. So let's let's dive in a little bit about what this game is going to mean, Deacon, and what you think. Maybe get some of your opinions on on how you think they can win this game. I know from looking. You know throw your pundents and you can, you can take them for what they're worth. But half half dalls, when half have the eagles pulling it off, I think we'll cracks me up. And this is where we'll get started. Is dalls beat the saints, Right, and they and their defense play probably the best game any Dallas defense is played in years. But am I wrong to think that maybe we're going a little to above and beyond this daals cowboys team? They they did only score thirteen points, correct, they did, okay, and in the second half they were pretty much shut down for the whole second half. M So how many times, and you can, you can look at a hundred different times that drew brees has had the ball in his hands to win games. Out of those hundred times, ninety of them he probably wins the games. Right, Yep, okay, so it's not like we're talking about a forty, five to ten route where that Prescott looked like Joe Montana. They scored thirteen points. They and they were all on the first half. They weren't. They weren't barn burners in the second half. So it's not like we can't go down there tomorrow as as an organization that needs this win and pull this game off. Am I right? Yeah, yeah, I my one of my thought Elson that Dallas New Orleans Games game was when was the last time New Orleans held somebody to thirteen points and lost? In the drew brees Sean Payton era? But that's what I mean. It had to be a long time ago, earlier in their careers or earlier in their time together. But I mean New Orleans just doesn't lose games thirteen to ten. No, and they probably haven't lost a game like that in eons. Well, that's what you're made a good point to. It's dead. It's definitely one hundred percent not since those two been together. ...

Yeah, right, I mean that they that they were they had that bit of a game and I think after the game they talked to Shawan Peyton and the rest of the team and they all pretty much agreed that as a team as a whole there wasn't one guy that had a good game. It like everybody struggled. Yeah, and it was like the perfect storm for Dallas. And and actually the New Orleans defense did have a decent game because they limited Dallas to ten points. Right. And Dak Prescott was not, I mean he wasn't very effective in that game. The one touchdown passed that he through was a short pass. It was it, I think it was inside the twenty, if not inside the twenty five, definitely inside the twenty five. He threw short pass to the flat and the in the receiver took care of the rest. Yeah, into the end zone. So it's not like he was throwing the ball forty fifty yards down fields, right in the the end zone and put it on a dime and he still only ended up with what about two or thirty R yeah, yeah, and and he put the ball in the ground at least three times. HMM. Right. It wasn't like he was crisp. We all know him, as you know, dink and Dack, because that's all he really does, right. Yeah, and you know Amari Cooper opens up the game for them. Yes, but I was listened to a stat I believe it was like Greecee. It said yesterday, but they only had they only have about twenty plays all year of twenty yards or more, and only about four of them since Cooper's been there. So it's not like this is this high powered St Louis Rams offense. You know from thousand and one that they're just going to go up and down the field on you. As bad as as bad as the saints played. They only gave up thirteen points and drew breese had the ball in his hands at least four times in the clutch that he could have won. That could have won the game, right, he ended up giving it up and and the throw that he makes it gets intercepted. There's a throw that you haven't seen droom drew breese making twenty years now, right. So it was like this perfect storm. and not to mention they were what on like a ten game winning streak at that point. Yes, I mean, yeah, they were probably the hottest team out there. But if he did in Houston, yeah, Houston, you know the rams, everybody. But if you listen to the pundance and talking heads they act, and I know it's Dallas, so of course they're going to act like this, but they act like Dallas is the like I said, the one rams or the you know, the eighty five bears, or the defense there. It's they beat a team who was coming off of a high the way they and and just called him at the right time. M Right. If they played at game ten more times, new or New Orleans probably wins at game ten times. Oh sure, and then they spank them ten times to a hundred percent. Dallas has a solid defense. Again, like you said, they're not the eighty five bears and not two thousand Ravens Defense, but there are solid defense. They've got playmakers at the LINEBACKER position, defensive end position. Those are the types of players that you need. When they're making plays, you don't have to worry about your back end so much right because they're getting into the quarterback, they're shutting down the run game, they're covering the short passes, so you're not so concerned about your defensive backfield when the front seven are making plays, and that's what they have. Their defensive end is making plays, their their linebackers are making plays, so they know they make up for a lot of what the offense doesn't bring to the table. So let me ask you a question. Obviously they're going to have to, you know, score right to beat Dallas. They're going to have to the offense isn't going to be you know, they can't struggle the way they did against the giants in the first half and, you know, the way they did the week before. They've played a complete six their last six quarters. They have to play a complete game. But let's not act like we're worried about Dallas coming out and scoring fifty point. No, okay now. So you know that if you're if you're able to drive the ball on them, and you can and you can score, that you should be able to beat you should be able to keep pace at least long enough to be able to beat this offense. What do you think they're going to have to do if else's defense comes out and plays at the way they do? What's the first thing that Doug and Carson and I'm guys are gonna have to game plan for to beat this defense if they're playing the way that they did with saints? Well, first of foremast, first and foremost, the way you stop Dallas is you got to keep Zeke off the field. So turn up every every yet everything runs through Zeke on offense. He opens up so much for them and he protects da right, because when Dak doesn't have to throw the ball, he's not that right. You know, he's a game manager, a maintenance guy, and that's what that's what Dallas wants. That's what they thrive on. That time of possession, chewing up the clock, chewing up the yardage, wearing down that defense, a front on the other side. That's how they make their living. If you can keep Zack off the field and limit the big play to cooper, you're in good shape. Yeah, the problem is, how do you do that right? And you don't want to bring an extra guy up in the box because when you do that it opens up the back end to guys like Cooper could Easley, who I still don't understand how's it as a job in the...

NFL, because he's based nothing special. He makes enough place dolls, make enough plays, but he's nothing special. I don't know if I would want them on the eagles now. You know that's how lowly I think of them. But he does make that occasional play we're like, damn it, this guy. How does he do it? So what and so and only the receiver on the other other side. Galloway to go is a he's a burn. So what are you going on? You're going on your point then, right, you you have to stop Zeek. WHAT DID NEW ORLEANS DO? Who doesn't have an eighty five bears defense? What did they do to keep Zeeke? Not You know he's going to get his but what did they do to keep him and check, to keep themselves in that game for as long as they were? He didn't go down there and beat them up. And now it was a matter of Dallas's defense getting off the field and limiting the damage that drew brees and company could do. Yeah, and in that you know, in my eyes, that's the way they were able to overcome and Dallas was hyped for that game. Oh Yeah, they had a lot of emotion going into that game. I'm actually were talking a lot of trash to before today. Were they were, which leads me to think that they were. They were on emotional high going into that game. They knew that their season was going to come down that game. If they didn't win that game, there was a good chance their season was not going to go anywhere. And there you know, day alls is at desperate team. I still think they're desperate team because nothing is locked up right now in the NFC east. It may not be for most of the rest of the two weeks, three weeks past, and I think New Orleans, I don't know if they went in there cocky. They can. They just had to show up and throw it her shirt out on the field and they were going to win. But they might have been, you know, feeling themselves, feeling themselves reading their press clippings, having that streak that they were on and they were sippen blowing guys all. Yeah, maybe a Wong teams roll in every play. Well, when you when you play like that, and even if it's even if you're not doing it on purpose, right, when you come in and you drop forty eight on the eagles, when you drop fifty one the week before, you know when your margin of victories are, you know, in the s. As far as, like how you're beating teams when you just just by, you know, just by read, like not even you don't have to go out of your way to read the press clips, you don't have to go out of here, like just by the fact that you can show up and beat teams that way in the NFL because no, like nobody, you plays an easy win, right this the NFL. Yeah, we week the week you can lose. So just by looking at the fact that the way they're running over teams, you're already feeling yourself, just but just by accident. Right. Sure. And then you look at a Dallas team that you know by all in tents of purposes, aren't that great. You know that Prescott's not, like I said, he's not Joe Montana. So if you look at that matchup, you go, we should probably go in there and blow these guys out. MM. And then when it was in a first half and you're looking at like, all right, that's not the case here, things start to like con of snowball there for you at that play. Yeah, and you when all of a sudden you're not up twenty, you know what I mean. So I think that, and I think you hit it right on the nail, that they were emotionally charged for that game. They not that they're still battle for a number one seed with the rams. You know, you got other teams that are starting to creep up now that are now it's not the rams in the saints so far out in front. There's other teams starting to creep up and maybe they had a little pressure on them to show up and listen, drew brees is a first balllet hall of Famer. He played one of the worst games I've ever seen him play. Yeah, do you know I mean? So I can't envision that they're going to have another one of those games to where you're going to look at and go alreat. This team's legit Dallas. I mean that this team's legit and they're a threat. I can't, I can't imagine that you can't go down there and win this game. It is a winnable game. This is absolutely a winnable game. And one more thing about New Orleans Dallas. John Madden, when he was a broadcaster, he used to say when you let bad teams hang around, bad things tend to happen, and that's exactly I think that's another scenario that played out in that Dallas New Orleans game. I Great New Orleans let them hang around. Not that Dallas is a bad team, but they're certainly not in the same tears as New Orleans. When they let them hang around, bad things started to happen. Like you said, it took on a snowball effect and it just it got to the point where New Orleans was not able to overcome what they got themselves into. And, like I said, this team plays. The saints probably play their worst game in like you said, probably in the in the peyton breeze error, if not right up there, and they were still only three points down. You got to be looking and and I know on the broadcast they showed a lot of the saints players like sitting there shaking their head. They could believe that this game is as close that it is and I think it just weighed on them. And even after all that, even after Dallas has defense was playing one of their best games ever and the offense was doing just enough to keep breeze off, the cool off the field, they were still in that game. So, like I said, it wasn't like Dallas put their foot on the saints throat and just blew them there, blew their doors off. You...

...know, this is a team that they were. I mean Shan Peyton was still calling wildcat plays in the fourth quarter because the game was still within reasonable it was only three point game. So the Eagles go down there tomorrow right and, like I said, for all intents and purposes this is this is their season. You know, they're not mathematically eliminated if they lose tomorrow, but morally and emotionally they're probably eliminated if they lose tomorrow. So you got to look at it like, all right, we got to go down there and we got to have the best offensive game that we've had all year and we need a defense to do just enough, like you said, because there's really only one threat on that offense. Yeah, right. So, in your opinion, what's the offensive game play in Dallas Tomorrow? From from Douggie Paton and any other coaches, I think the offense at game plan going into Tamar's game is going to be along the lines of getting Josh Adams somewhere around twenty rushes and mix it in a couple chlory, Corey clament rushes. They've got to chew up that clock. They got to keep the cowboys offense off the field. The one proving, time proven effective way to do that is to establish the run game early. ESTABLISHED THAT RUN GAME EARLY KEEP DALLAS OFF balance, opens up your pay in game for later on. And there are, you know, a slew of weapons that at Carson Wentz's disposal, with a Sean Jeffrey, with Golden Tate, with Darren sprowls, the the other running backs we have. We have, you know, probably top three tight end in the league, and Zach Ert's Dallas got it. When they use him. Has Proven to be an effective tight end and I think his capacity tomorrow, his contributions tomorrow, we need a little bit more out of him and I think he's capable of doing that. But if we can, we don't have to really throw the ball down field that much. I think dancing duck down the field paid our rushing game down there. You know, keep moving that ball down field. That's the way to combat that. That day. All's offense where down that Dallas Defense and just control the game and I this is a winnable game. I don't want to make my prediction yet as far as score, but I do think we go in there and we can and we'll win this game. All right. So they go down there, they win the game, they're tied for first place. Now they have Houston, they have Washington and they have the rams left, I believe Dallas has Indianapolis, all giants and all over us to yeah, and yeah, and and all home games. In that scenario, you're tied for first the Rams, obviously you're going to be one of the Games because at that point they're probably still going to be playing for the first seat. So they're going to want to win that game and you're playing them there. They're right and they want revenge and Dallas has to cake walks out of their last three games. Now Indy's going to be still playing for something because they're still in playoff position. Yep, and even just straight up in Theis better than Dallas on paper, right. So, despite what happened, that the goose aglas. Yeah, exactly. So you look at the you look at destiny being in the eagles hands. If they tie for first after tomorrow, after win, do they have enough? Do they get two out of the last three? Do they be Houston to home? They and they obviously they're going to walk all over Washington at the end. That that Houston game, provided the eagles went to more the Houston game, is the key to the season. They have to steal that game. Yeah, because you can lose the rams and still win a division. Yes, yeah, because you're going to have Washington at the end. They should be Washington. I don't know what the if there is a tie, I don't know what the division records would be will be. The Eagles will be one game better, one game better than down division, okay, because think they also be for and to the eagles will be five and one. Okay. At that point then the eagles would win the division based on the first tiebreaker, all the second tiebreaker. But I think Houston is the key game for the season, if provided we get the win tomorrow, because I do believe going out to La is going to be a tough, tough home. It's going to be. It's going to be really difficult to get that went out there. LA's going to be looking. They're going to have revenge. Yeah, going into that week after what we did, not only what we did on the field, but what we did in the stands. Yeah, the Eagles fans traveled out there and just took the game over. That always be a stadium. That's always going to be the case there, because their fans are frauds. True, they're out there for more entertainment than anything. Yes, well, when you, when you live five miles from the beach, hit six foot blonds growing trees out there. If you had the choice between going to watch a football game are going to the beach, you're probably going to go the beach right in that stadium. Yeah, exactly that, stay in that stadium. So here's the thing, though, right the hues, I do agree to. Obviously the season is going to hand on that Houston game. The good thing is it seems that...

...the Eagles are at the point now in the season where guys are starting to get healthy. You're going to start getting guys back YEP, which a lot of teams are losing guys now or guys are starting to get kind of run down. Now the eagles are going to start getting guys healthy and keep positions right, secondary positions, Jordan Hicks, guys that you need on the field are going to start getting healthy at the right time. So if you go out and you beat Dallas Tomorrow, I think you put yourself in the best position possible to even possibly run the table. I know, like I said, with that La game it could be tough, but la has been beatable for last couple weeks. Yeah, like they're not all the sudden blowing people out. It right, they've been beatable for the defense that they have they've given up some points. that. Yeah, that's what I mean. So it's not well, you know, do I feel good about going to La and beating that team with the with a depleted secondary and all this other stuff? No, but we've seen over the last couple weeks and even this season in general, that teams are beatable. Look, like I said, look with Dallas. Did The saints? You know, Detroit was in the gate, was beating La up until the fourth quarter a couple weeks ago and Detroit stinks. So every team is beatable. Yeah, I'm not throwing away that. The that the buccaneers can't go in the Dallas and beat them. You know what I mean, with the way they've been playing. So depends on which fitzpatch is. Well, it depends on what quarterback's going to be there. They go which quarterback? Change the quarterback every week. But before we had to break what I'm going to just the fact is tomorrow, obviously the season hinges on tomorrow. You Win Tomorrow, the rest of the season the destiny is in your hands. If they're able to steal this division back and win this division. Getting everybody healthy, what we've been talking about, Carson seems to finally be maybe hitting the stride. He's he's starting back healthy, starting to move out of the pocket. He's making plays that we were so used to from last year outside the pocket. Do you see? And I know this, playoffs are different. Saints and Rams are going to be tough to beat. Is this a team, if they get people back healthy and they start clicking right at the right time, this is a team that could be dangerous come playoff time. If, if they do in fact make it, they based on what they did last year in the playoffs. If they want a different position now they're coming from before. See that? Well, yeah, but we were. They on the dog in every game last right, a playoffs right at home, right it. So, based on what they did last year in the playoffs, if they are able to start clicking, especially on the offensive side, I think the eagles become the team that nobody wants to play. I agree. You know, I agree. Is If they get on that, if they get on that role, I think they become that team that nobody wants to play. I think the problem that we will face is where do we play? If we play at home, I think we're going to get one home game. We're going to get one. If we win the division, we get one. Right, depends on what it how it plays out for the other teams that play. Where we go from there? Right. And I think if we go on the road, you want to avoid the saints, you you want to avoid the song as possible. You want to avoid the rams exactly as long as possible. But you know in the way to do that is you can't finish five or six, you got to finish for or three. Yeah, I agree. I agree, because the wild card still is within reach. But for me I'd rather go take that division away from Dallas and then let them have to if they make the wild card, let them have to go out the La, Yep, you know, and face them, because you know the we'll see just just how well they are. All right, real quick once again, we're coming you live from parkwood youth oranization. So we want to thank Jay for putting this together. layest year was a great event. This year we're anticipating the same thing. So if you're listening live, come on out here. It's th three hundred one Mechanicsville road in a great northeast and the lovely Parkwood. I'm a park wood, a lum I got, like I said in the opener, we got a park with staple here, Mr Deep Martin.

He's a southwest guy, but he's a parkwood staple. Now you're southwest guy, right. Yes, so it is southwest, southwest UN beat marks. So we opened up talking about the eagles and cowboys. Obviously it's cowboys week. I want to shift gears a little bit, Dec if you don't mind at all, our sixers. It's been. It's been a pretty interesting season so far. We, you know, we started off the season by clearly saying that we were going to need a third gun, so to speak, a guy to go to in the clutch, a guy that, you know, if Joe Ellenby was going to be on the bench or if, God forbid, like last night, was getting a rest day, you were going to need a guy to you know, go to. You know in past seasons when Joel would would go to the bench or he would he would get one of his rest days, you were struggling score, you had to depend on, you know, Robert Covington or Darry stars to have a big game, but not no more dope, not no more. Everybody who's been following the team knows that over the last twelve games we were we made an acquisition and we got the wonderful Edgy Jimmy Butler on the squad. He has been a godsend to this team. I think, I believe they are ten and two or eleven and three now since he's been here, and we were talking to Taylor before to show that just his presence has already changed the face of this team. They've already it did. The team has a little bit more edge now. Ben's being more aggressive now since Jimmy's been here, which we've been talking about for months that if ben would just show what a fraction of aggressiveness he's virtually unguardable in this league, and that's starting to kind of show its head now that they're starting to to play aggressive. So last night they went into Detroit, Joel and bead got a very much needed rest. I know it was. It was much ballyhooed because there was three days between games when and when they lost the other night, we all saw the laws to Toronto right, but you know, Joel looked like he was guessed against Toronto, so they gave him a much needed day off and it was a little worrisome because Detroit, even with Joe on the game, is usually a pretty back and forth kind of game. You know they battle. You need a guy like Joel and those games. But sixers came out, they played aggressive, they played really good team ball, they move the ball around and and Jimmy Butler went off, not only in the score the score sheet, but he went off on the court to he for those either watch the game noticed that he was getting in Blake Griffin's face most of the game, which I love because it's it's been documented a thousand times that I hate Blake Griffin. First of all. Number One, just just personally, I think he's a dirt bag. He's top five dirties players in the league. He gets away with murder on the court as far as elbows, as far as pushing people to the ground charge as he gets away with with murder. But the fact that you have a guy like Jimmy Butler deck that won't back down, that will get in his face, that'll run his mouth and in can compete as well, I think is a huge game changer. For his sixer's team. Agreed, and that's a great word that you use the describe what he brings to the tables. Edgy, because until he arrives there wasn't one edgy player on the team. Jewel included, jewel jewel. I don't want to say he tries to be edgy. He has a slight bit of an edge to him, but nothing like Jimmy Butler. Well, for Joel to it depends on who he's going up against, and that's true too. Yes, the big, the big Easter, terrific white side, or if it's Drummond, you know he's going to bring his a game, unless theer's center. It's actually right and I like everything that Jimmy Butler brings to the to the table. I don't know what the issues were at his two previous stops in the NBA, or Minnesota alone, is because those guys are sold out there. But I think he's a perfect fit for the city of Philadelphia. He's everything we profess ourselves to be. I think I think he fits our mold and our mentality to a team and I've enjoyed watching him. I've enjoyed his edging this that he brings to the to the team. You're right, it brings a bit of an edge to the everybody else bend is stepping up with that bit of an edge also. The other thing that that not that I have an issue, but I question, is why does a twenty two year old need a day of rest? I don't get that, because he hasn't played a full season yet. He should be okay. But that was how many years ago? That was two years ago, right, it's he's played all of last year. Eighty two games is a lot of games. I saw it. Is it bodd is, but therely Riley for that. Where was...

...it an issue? You know, for for how many years? How long was he out for that? Players are taking games mess. He missed two full years. But yeah, that's that's a lot. That's a lot of not playing. Will See, thirty two, thirty three, thirty four? Okay, I'll give him a game here and they have you got imagined to twenty two years. It's two years is a long time not to be in playing mention. You're talking about a guy who didn't pick up a basketball for, you know, the first sixteen years of his life. so He's maybe when really rested no, no, you're in it, but you're right. But what I was to say it was you got imagine. We talked about it with one of our players from our team, right, the fact that you gained that much and muscle, you put on that much weight, you grow as fast as he did, and then to not be able to do and he even said it, the worst part about him being injured and out was that he couldn't condition himself. Yeah, so he you know, he felt like when he first started playing he had no gas. So not now he's well known in the League, so he's going to get every team's best every game. Right. Yeah, so few that guys hanging on you. We talked about it with Mel Right, he's got kids hanging on him. He's he's got to put in the extra effort because he's the guy when he walks on the court. Right. So if he hasn't sat yet and he's playing forty minutes a game, I mean, listen, it's a different game now. It adds up, it is it does it our percent adds. I get all that, but he's twenty two. So that that's my only my only thing is that he's a younger guy and I don't think he. I don't think he's at the point yet in his career where he needs to start taking a game or two off every once in a while. I don't mind giving them a game, especially in that Toronto game, because for most of that game that was a battle Toronto. TORONTO ENDED UP. Toronto ended up winning that game, but that was a battle and they battled. They had a lot of young guys on that team that were that had joel kind of running all over the place. Valid tunist is super athletic. Okay, he had joel running in and out of the Post Garden them on the perimeter. When they had the two young kids come in, they were running around, they had joe, they were pulling him away from the basket and I'm I'm not making excuses for me, but in it in an eighty two game season. If you look at a game against, you know, detroity in December, if you knew that you could give him that game off and it's going to help him in these next three then you do it, because that game in Detroit in December isn't going to mean anything come, you know, February, March and early April when you need him him to be at a hundred percent full tank, gas tank. So you give them a game off and there's a nine man roster. Right, we're not getting that many bodies out there right, right there. There's a thing in baseball where they say every game you win early is one less game you got to win later. Right, I guess, totally a great miked. I totally agree. Every game we win early is one less game we got to win later on in the season. Yeah, but don't you think that's only a mantra in baseball, because it's a hundred sixty two, a hundred and sixty two games. And then, and if you look at it, baseball players get rest. Ryan howry's to get rest of the time, which right, we don't say it anyway, but because you'll get that either. And and with baseball it's weird. I've always said if you're playing a hundred sixty two games season, so you automatically think that you have plenty of time. But the funny thing is with baseball, like it seems like when you get down in the division by four or five games, your battle in the whole season to get back in the season. I mean like and you're looking at like I was still got a hundred, sixty games go whatever. You're battling the entire season to just make up those games. In basketball it's like, all right, I get a game or two down, you know, I give a guy arrest, I can take a loss in Detroit. The first game it's, you know, the first of a backtoback or whatever. You know, you look at times where like, I think coming up they have like one game they'll play like Boston and then the next game I think they have like Phoenix. Will you sit joe on a Phoenix Game? Because the backtoback right, you play Boston, you throw him out there. He extarts everything he has in Boston. I mean, listen, I don't have a problem with him sitting, especially because now, and I think now it even lends itself to that, because now you have Jimmy. Right before you were like off Joel Si's were in trouble. Yeah, and now you got Jimmy. So it's like all right, we can get joel rest every once in a while. I don't have a problem with it. Yeah, it's not that I have a problem with it, I just wish so. You'd rather have him out there struggling. I don't want them out. They're struggling, but if you want to give them less minutes, it's okay to give them less minutes, but just to take a whole game off it seemed like a good idea last night. All right. Yeah, I just like I said it. It's different than in years passed, because you got guys now that can, that can hold down the fort and even since, ever since he started, and even...

...now that he's in his you know, his third year or a second full year, he gets gaysed and me gets gaysed and while he's got to work on that Cardio, I mean he does. And here's my thing, and I know this from personal experiences, this team, at least Joel and I've seen been out, and when Robert was here, he was out. These guys it's not like they go from the Games and go home and put their feet up right. These guys are kids. They're out. I've seen them. I've been there watching them all get out of trucks and go in the clubs. Yeah, so in the morning. So it's a new generation and I know the older generation did the same thing, but these guys, like they're just different. Man They're just different and if you got to give him a day off, like I said, in a game in December against against Detroit, I'm all right with it. You know, would it have been different at they lost? I don't know. Maybe some people have a different opinion, but listen, you got a guy, you got a killer on your team now that you can kind of say, all right, man, you got to run the show until we get your all back on the court. So I don't really have a problem with it. I think it was needed. I thought they were going to lose last night. Only putting eight guys out there, like, yeah, it didn't. Detroit you put out isn't you know, will beaters either. And Detroit still playoff team like they're no pushover. But so eight guys, that's that's a lot of a lot of weight to put on eight guys. Were a good team you're playing against. It's certainly helps having Jimmy Butler in the mix. Well, it does, because you know and you notice a to like even even rookies like land your sham it right, or even like Mike Muscala who, for all intents of purposes, a lot of people say he's sort of on the soft side and you know you got gritty guys like Tj and you know a mere Johnson's going to throw his body around, but it just it. Here's the thing you mentioned earlier about you don't know what happened in Jimmy's previous two stops. If you look at Chicago and if you look at Minnesota, there's not a lot of guys that you would look at and go that's a pretty Badass to like, that's a pretty tough to we're going to have it. We're going at the battle with that guy all game. Yeah, right, especially Minnesota. Right. Actually, yes, guys I at aren't getting on the ground and fighting for balls. Andrew Wiggins doesn't, you know, he don't give you the grittiness like a TJ McConnell or, you know, an aggressiveness like a Dario when he was here or something like that. Jimmy knows like he's already put his mark on every player on this team, like Oh, there's no doubt who's one of the biggest dirty put like Jada Reddick is a Dick on the court. We talked about on our show all the time, like he's a total Dick on the court. That like he has edge. Yeah, Joel, when he wants to, has edged, Ben when he wants to, has edge. Jimmy is given that to the other members of this team. And now you're seeing guys like, look, a mere Johnson doesn't need to be on the floor wrest on for balls. Guy's been in League for twelve years, right, he's on a one year contract. He don't need to be shown anything, but he's getting down fighting for balls. Rookies like Landy Shaman's getting down, running through picks and fighting for balls. Then post up by Blake. Yeah, looking looks like verifying fighting right, and he's fighting it off. He's not just giving it up. You know, Mike Mascal is broken nose at the mask and he's fighting for offensive rebounds. That's all because of Jimmy Butler. Like that's what he wanted Minnesota to do when he went there, and he he expresses that freely through the press. I'm sure he's expresses it freely in the locker room. This is what I expect. If you guys and at that. That's what I'm talking about when I'm talking about he fits right into the philly mentality. That's what I'm talking about. He's out there busting his ass, doing what he needs to to to maintain his status and even trying to get better. If he kept at twenty nine years old, I don't know how much better you can get, but those are the things he's trying to do. He obviously expects everyone else with the team to do the same thing and he's not afraid to say it, and and Philly fans love that about him and about their players in general. I mean, he literally worked his ass off to get to this point in the league. Like he was drafted, right, yeah, right, director lay a, drafted, laid didn't start, then started with the D roads team. You know, he was essentially homeless when he was in high school. So, like he's literally come from nothing and he's I guess he just has a mentality like I worked all the way up to here and now I'm a superstar. Right, you should be able to do half of this, since you are at this point. especially what Minnesota to because they had two guys, that one and Andrew Wiggins, that was highly touted as the consensus number one picked that year, and Canada, Michael Jordan, yeah, exactly, and cat who, for all intents and purposes, was consensus number one in his draft to and two guys that I think, and mean deep, talked about this about basketball. The time is when you start, when you start reading the press clippings, when you start smelling yourself, when you start hearing the things that people are saying about you, and you start reading those, you know, those draft boards before the drafts, and you start seeing all the you know Adrian was going to ask he's and all those guys coming out saying, Oh, it's Andrew Wiggins, he's in them on pick, like Taylor said, the next Michael Jordan, the next Lebron James.

Well, then you start believing that and you start believing that as soon as you step on the court, regardless of what yours you're wearing, you're going to dominate, because you hear all that noise. Right, unfair expectations, correct, but they also play into it by allowing themselves to not work as hard because of that. Right. Right. So when it guy like Jimmy Butler who, like Taylor said, almost on drafted, hat came from nothing, transferred colleges, got adopted, he's got he's you know, he's got foster parents and all this other stuff and he goes on the court and he even he'd been mentioned it in the press conference the other day. He said, listen, I'm not a bad teammate. All's I expect is that guys work as hard as I do. Yeah, that's all I ask. There's nothing wrong with that. And if you come in with this superstar attitude that I don't need to work hard, well we're going to have a problem. Right he comes in here. I knew right away he wasn't going to be a problem because guys like Joel, guys like been having Jj here, they're not the kind of guys that are going to look at Jimmy Butler and go you dude, like let's relax here, you know, with the agratic like their guys that are going to work. But Chris Brush had had a comment the other day and I had Taylor. Havn't got a chance to talk to you about this, but he made a comment on coward show about how Joe Ellen beat and Ben Simmons don't work hard and how they hate the practice and Joe Wellbe leaves practice early and all this, and I wanted to laugh because that's anybody seeing in him. Fair like have have like look at the improvement that Joel em beads had in the last two years. there. We just got done saying he missed a full two years and he's the most dominant big man in the league. Right, he's in the ENV EP race. You don't get that way by not working hard. Right, right. So there's no way that I knew there. There's no way to Jimmy Butler was going to be a come a problem on a team that is filled with guys who work hard. Right, right, because we can assume that everyone who plays in the NBA is a talented basketball player and there's only three hundred fifty spots right, right and there and there, and for most part they're really talented basketball players. So what separates the great ones from the from the good ones where the average ones, is work. Yeah, you got to put the work in. And too. Well, the only played one year of college and was injured at the end of that year. He was what you say, sixteen? He started using volleyball team. Yeah, so he only had two years in high school, one year in college that was cut short by injury, and then his professional career was cut short by to his injuries and other injuries. So what him, what has gotten him to the point to where he's at now, is it's got to be the hard work. He just passed a hundred games in his career. Think about that. Yeah, he just got some hundred way's third year, fourth year here, fourth year, a fourth year here. You know. Yeah, so, make an announcement for the Raffles, if you're listening alive, get up here. Thirty three of one mechanics all road. Get some Raffles, put some tickets in Lettin Jay, make his announcement here and so like, like I said, when when he came here, I knew from watching him. I like, I've always loved Jimmy Butler's game. You know, when he comes in their wells farger center and drops fifty and an overtime game. You know the guy can bull you know he gets buckets. So you know, he was exactly what this team needed. I think. I think going forward, I think the loss of Toronto. Actually, I was talking it was funny. I was talking to Anthon and Gargano. We were texting back and forth the other day after the Toronto game and I said to him, I was like it's almost like yeah, you lost that game and building up to that game everybody had said, Oh, this is going to be a litmus test and it's going to be a you know, a barometer for how good we are. And I said it was almost not a bad thing that they lost that game because I think what that did was open with that open Elton brand's eyes to the fact that this team isn't good enough yet. It's not set right, because they were winning. They had they came off a two hundred and twenty plus blowouts right before that game. MMM. So if they go in and they beat Toronto, Elton Brand probably looks at this team and goes, all right, I may need to tweak this a little bit, but we're good enough now. The fact that they went and had their asses handed to him in that Toronto Game I think opens out in brand's eyes and goes all right, we need like a piece like I don't need just a bench tweak I need one more peace. So it's almost not an and Anton and Gargano agreed. It's almost not a bad thing that they lost that game because now they'd can't be complained recent. It showed them what he has and what what he needs to get done. Take them a legit three seat in the east. I agree. If, after the first game against Boston and we got blown out, I posted on facebook that until the sixers can beat Toronto and Boston, it'll be fun to watch this team with Ben and Joe. Well, but I know they're not going anywhere after the first round in the playoffs. Yea, and the season. I hate to use the term that it was...

...just going to be a waste of time, but I knew how the story was going to finish before our even write the book. Agree. So then we went ahead and did the Butler trade and I was I was really excited about that. I was happy about that, glad they did that. Thought, okay, Elton Brando knows what's going on, he knows what he has to do. He's working his way to making this complete team. And then we played against Toronto. Yeah, and the same thing. But you went all right, yeah, I know what I need right, but I'm I'm not as Dour on the team as I was after that first game against Boston, but I'm still thinking, okay, you got one more shot on Christmas to convince me that you can compete with Boston and Toronto. Obviously got them back to back right before Christmas. Yeah, Alston Toronto, hoviously Toronto, still a step above everybody else in the Yes, until they go out and lose on a net yesterday and you're like come on, but I mean so, yeah, they're there, but if you, if you get yourself another piece, and a legitimate piece, whether it's a starter or a first guy, like the last couple games, their first three substitutions are Muscala, Shaman, Shaman and McConnell. Yeah, we need to pick up somebody. Not Going to win. You're not going to win the east with those three being your first and you're not going to win with t Jim McConnell playing twenty three minutes a game. I'm not going to have I think they need to add somebody, like, just anybody now, just so they have deaf for the season. So Joel can't get rest and not one of these g league players, yeah, and some and the other got other stars can actually get some minutes cut down. So when the playoffs come and you have only play a name van rotation, right, that's when you're set. You're not putting all these extra miles on these guys when they actually need to play and the playoffs agree. They need to pick up a quality piece, not necessarily quantity. Yeah, they need to get that fourth player. You don't need a you don't need a fifteen guy filler, right, you know, you don't really guy it's going to play. You know, a mere Johnson minutes, you know, a five minute a game guy, and you know whether it's blowing out either way or whatever. Obviously somebody to give someone a spell. You need a legit six man. They're not a Jamal Crawford type. They're not playing the other guy that they got from Minnesota either. Yeah, I mean even when he comes back because he's injured, it's sitting out the rest of the year. I mean they said he's rehabbing. They expect them to come back before the end of the year. Okay, but he's not. He's not an impact player. No, because you're going to have a mere Johnson, you're going to have Mike Muscala and even in Joanah bolden. You, I mean you got three guys that if joe needs to spell there they have guys to do it. You need a legitimate six man, someone to come off the bench and fill it up for you know, that's what you thought, folks, was going to be. He was going to be the guy coming off the bench. You need a guy that can come off and fill it up, like Valencehos, came off the bench all day, played twenty minutes, scored eight team points. Yeah, you know that. Ten rebounds, he doesn't start anything, and that's a that's kind of guy you need. Yeah, absolutely, that's kind of guy you need. So when when Brett and does these rotations, that adds everybody scratching her head, you go, all right, at least I have this guy on the court that can fill it up and buy some time to our stars. Get back. Yes, all right, real quick, we're going to take another break. Coming you, lie from thirty three one, Mechanicsville road park. So real quick, right before the break, we talked some eagles, we talked some sixers. So when I'll run the gamut a little bit and talk about our boys of summer. Should be an interesting offseason. It has been already. Winner meetings are set to start in Monday, which is where most of your big deals are going to go down. We've been listening to myself and deek from two and five live in a Santa Bou first podcast, but we brought a very special guest and I Know Myself And deek of Coach Baseball for years. But when you want to Talk Baseball, deek, you go to a baseball Fishionatto. You go to a guy to eat, sleeps and breathe baseball, and when you're in Parkwood there's only one guy to go to, and that's Mr Scott Anderson. Scott, how are you, senior? Good guys, Scott Anderson, senior, because Jude Scott Anderson Junior don't know what he's talking about. Nah, he knows. He knows. Now we know more than I do. All right. So, so phillies made a little bit of...

...a splash couple weeks ago. They went made a deal, got rid of JP Crawford and somehow or another managed to have somebody actually take Carlos Santana off their hands, God, which I never thought a million years old going to happen. Looking help, because they took some of the money to correct. So, contract wise and skill wise, I thought there was no way we were getting rid of him, but they did. They who? We've got some sibilants, sibiling months. So they traded him out the Seattle. They got all star shortstop Jean Sagore, twenty seven years old, I think, bess. Twenty seven years old. Looks like he's probably for atens purposes, probably your lead Aff hitter right. Sure they for projected lineup, seems like he's probably going to be the lead AFF hitter. I'd probably, I probably put him in the hulk. I don't know about leadoff because Leto do will lead off if he's still here. I don't know about to do the we I don't think I'll do it. was going to be here by the season anyway, by the time to start. So but CIGARRE, you're looking at two hundred and ninety three hundred hitter for the last three years. Great shortstop pick up. They've got the guys, just natural shorts plug him in every game position. Yeah, every game going to be there. The big thing is now they got to get Harper. They got to sign Harper. Well, that's where it's that's where I was going to going to go with the winner meetings. Harper's in Vegas. That's his hometown. There is rumors out there to Harper said he's not sign until after the winner meetings. So hoping to Phillies can talk them before that and have everything locked up. But CIGORE is a great pick up. It's just a great it's just a great good JP Crawford needs to move on because time is done here in Philly. Yeah, he was cold the field as the number one guy for the last ten years, eight years in Philly, and he was starting the main guy. So he needs to move on because he was getting stale here. So here's the thing, right. So winner meeting start Monday and, like Scott said, and Deek, you can, you can jump in here as well. They're saying that that Harper's got obviously some things going on with the video game that he he's on the front cover with no uniform because he wants to make this he's got like this elaborate announcement that he's going to make and, like Scott said, he's in Vegas already. So he wants to do like this whole production. And Guess What, at twenty six years old, when you're set to make like four hundred million to play, to play baseball, you're well within your right to announce however the hell you want at this point. Yeah, so may ask you guys in Daco. I'll start with you. We've heard all the rumors. We've heard the Harper's, we've heard the Machado's. They missed out on Corbin, but for six years for a Pitcher, I'm fine with that. If you had to, if you had to put your GM hat on and you had to choose, you come out of the winner meetings, and even if it's just slightly after the meetings. Who Do you think they're going to come away with? And is it? And who do you want them to come away with? I think they're going to come away with Harper, if they come away with either one of them, because my my my read on this is I don't know if they're going to come away with either one of them. I tend to think the longer there's drags on, the less likely that either one of them is going to end up as a philly the rep despite, even despite what happened with Harper last year, at down year, I would rather have him. I think he's a grittier player, a more edgy player, which fits the mold of Philly, and I think he would be a more valuable play year here. Machado, myself, like everyone else, did not like what he said about not running out the groundball. That's just not who we are. Yeah, I don't think his antics would play well in the city of Philadelphia. But wait, did we go through twelve years at Roylins and day and that we did. There's a lot of times roylins didn't hostile. That is true. So the end, the fans still a knowledge. Roylins is one of the best shortstops ever played the game. Well, he's in the in fill yours. Yes, that's Philly, first stop over ball off all of BOA. Correct. So we've already gone down that road. So if it's gotta and Bo it, our rolins did deliver. Ring. Yes, said Machado. I don't think he. I mean, I know the dodgers made the world series, but I'm trying to think. I don't think his stats were that good. doorm know to play of his playlist? that his play? Like he's not the reason they made the world's here now. Not Okay. So here's what I'm worried about with Machado, and see if you guys agree. He's twenty six. He made those comments in a not only made the comments, but he made them during a world series. Okay, right, which is already not good. Right, if you listen to the bust their ownies and a can rosinhalls and all those guys, they said there's a lot of teams around the league that are taking that into consideration. I understaying away from here's what I'm worried about. You give a guy that's already admitting that he's not Johnny Hustle three hundred million dollars or more that more he's at a three for forty. Three hundred and fifty even more of a reason for him not to have...

...to hustle. But here's the here's the ten years. Three hundred million, he could just go. I'm not going to run a ball out in July. He's not going to get ten years toon. I'm just saying like in the and yeah, I don't. But here's the thing too, is you got to look at the phillies brass. The top guys all drafted him in bottomore. They all worked so they know him. Yeah, so I think. I don't think he want the I don't think you really want to go to La after that all star game. And maybe me he made it a little comic with camp. They had a little fun at second base. Yeah, but they all do. I but yeah, they don't know. We've other yeah, I don't think he really want to go to La but he knew he maybe have a chance to win the world series this year. But he wants come back to the east coast. He's a Miami Guy and he's Baltimore. Yeah, so I can see him going here or somewhere. And Need Yankees, because you got to remember Kagorius is out. He's got Tommy John, Pretty Yankee. So yeah, I think the Yag is Amer put the phillies can top any offer. So I want Harper. I think that Harper fits more here because you're looking at forty, forty two, maybe, possibly forty home runs. Oh, he's Nice, Harp. And then what he hits on the road, easy for you. But forty five up here and citizens back part. Yeah, and when you sign Harper, I give Harper three hundred and eighty over ten years or two. I gave any years he overs that we're too wid right now. Figure what they got. Just said that. I give him three eighty. I gave him three hundred and eighty. Seen. Yeah, you know why, during the make that up in season ticket sales plush Jersey. So yeah, it's no, it's not going to be. So it's going to be back in the lads and no nine, when he always selled out every single game. Absolutely, and it's not. It's not our money coming out of our pocket. Oh, yeah, I don't know, we're to working man. Yeah, we're going to put out for it because we're gonna want to watch them. Yeah. Well, here's the thing. So I plug him in right field, you got Roman Quinn, I sounder, every gay, Nick Williamson left. Yeah, you got Roman Quinn leading off. Then I would go with I would probably go with Kingary Bat and second. Oh my God, you got Harper, you got hot, you got a hoskins and cigar, and then cigar, Jene Sigora, actually bat second. I'm sorry, Kingary, backs of Eight. Yeah, you drop them down. That's incredible. Lineup right now. Now how do you do? You got a pitsch the hoskins. You Got Harper behind them. Yeah, wait, I'M gonna Walk Aff Sagora before him, harbor behind him. Yeah, score has all fields right, hostig as, three hundred headter, hoskins, hawkwar are they left and right? And then hoskins goes back to first before he's covered. We're supposed to be and they not left the right. You can't make the switch on. Can't. And he's not as like we talked about Joe Ellenby. He's not as gas nail midseason because he's not running around and left field. Oh and wait, we got about if you do if you happen to sign Machado to if you got both them, you got Machado a third. But okay, just say you don't do Machado, you do the Harper. You Got Franco. Yeah, I mean frankly, they don't sign Machado. Frankers, the RECO stays. Yeah, so now you got you got cigar, you got Roman Quinn Cigar, you got Hoskins, you got Harper and behind him you got Franco. Yeah, then you go into Nick Williamson Kingary. Yeah, because now Franco's got you know, when, when you have harper before you, Franco plays the Jason worthroll. Because now, which would be perfect, which is yeah, which is perfect, because because now you're not putting frank go at forth and hoping that he does. You are pressure right. So now I'll have a listen, I'm not going to pitch the Harper. I'm going to take my chances with Franco. Now Frank is going to start getting pitches. Yeah, to see right, because now he's at so you don't need to come away with both of those guys. So you know, money wise, you can. Yeah, right, but you don't need to, because Harper plugged in, like Scotcha says, makes a difference all the way through nine, all the way down the line. It helps your whole line. Yeah, I agree. There's now kingary goes back to that aid hole and goes to second bag where he belongs, where he belongs, and to me you sign Romas Wilson Ramos to bring him back. Yeah, I heard them, as I and I'd like a f our and a fair four error gets going the way he's projected to be. He's a nice seven eight hole. I heard him saying today that they're they're in the mix for Reeomoto. There's a they're asking a ton for him, but that could also be Hash dring. But you have that correct if you come all right. So let me ask you a question. Right, you come away, you start your spring training and you came away with Jay Hat, Bryce Harper, Jean Sakura and jt Rio Moto. Are you happy? Yes, yeah, are you know? Are you competing in an out with that that team? Oh, yeah, absolutely, because they always think real natural, savage or three top pictures. Yeah, and I agree with you are all here jumping out of get I would not have gave Corman this six year. I'm glad to Philly did to drop up the dead. Look at the damage you do to the National's lineup when you take harper out of it. Oh Yeah, oh, yeah, they can't hit with destroy. They're a line. Yeah, but they only have three pictures now. So, but I had nobody else right, right, right, and with Harper here, the phillies lost harder they lost Murphy last year. Yeah, nobody really ran away with the division and the two front runners that were supposed to be there folded. Yeah, that the mets and and the national hit. They weren't there at the end. Now canos a good player, but that's the only thing. The METSI so surprised, said. Not that matter. Braves are young. Yeah, they're going to be around for a while there. You going to have to deal with that. I think they were ahead of scheduloss up there to Donaldson's older. I don't think Donald is going to have the years he's had an American league, but there's got donaldson that great years in Toronto. Would he had who he had behind them? Their ties line up? Yes, yes, they're put their line up. I would forrest. Their lineup is a younger to junior...

...house. But do harpers and you added jt Riomoto or, if you got forbid, you add many Chado deadinitely and a priest. Offense can't hang with you. Right. They were running games lay here, two to one, show US three two. That's not a high hour and offense that's going to be able to hang with now. They're not putting my skin trol harder, but child every mood whatever. That's also when sergier pitched. And you know what I mean. And Right. And I think that the ace in the whole for the Phillies, and everybody knows it, is the amount of money they have to play with. Yeah, there's no other team that has the amount of money. I think I've seen it a couple times. I think they're only on the hook this year and like the next two or three years for probably until they sign people for there, they're on the hope for only ten million or less. I think you're right. Yeah, yeah, okay, and I think for one or two of those years it's five or less, five million dollars or less. In professional sports you don't have there a locking deals. That's insane. YEA guys on everybody's own a rookie, Ye, stay right, right. I mean the families are under control. For what a Knowlis are sitting pretty right now. Yeah, in that position, and they have more money to God to throw around. If they throw it around a little bit foolishly, I don't mind. But they can't be totally foolish with the money they you know, they got to keep some sanity to it because you got to think down the road, you know, you got to think five years down the road a little bit with the money. You don't want to throw it all way like back in the US the last parachute right right, because in my mind, down the road means might trout. We want to try and get much if we can land, if we can land water both of Harper or Machado, if we can land one of those two or both of them. If you then you see what you have. As far as if you want to try and get trout here earlier, you see what you could trade for him. If you want to wait till he's a free agent, then you got to save that money for when he's a free agent to try and get him let's lay us out. You know he wants to play here, right. So just say to say after the winner meetings you come away with Machado. Harper goes somewhere else. Do you then call it Los Angeles and say we'll give you a six, though, their number one picture in a farm system, and anybody else you want for trout right now? Yes, if you can't get harder to make the movie a prospects or prospects were all major league. Well, you do. You can give Franco, you can gi him, say he's alre Frank. I'll tear yeah by by, but six has got to be your number one guy. He's got to be that trade babe for truck. Yeah, because I don't think the angels will take anybody else but that number one pitcher that you have for trout. D that's so you don't Land Harper. I found the phillies. You got all that money here. Clear out our farm system, because you know why we want to win. Now, then you know what it is to like think about going PA. Guys like the Phillies hold there has held their prospects in higher regard than most of the League. Oh, yes, that's most teams do. Though, correct it. But and and, how many of them really panned down? Not Men. We're not talking at we're still talking about Kyle Dreybeck's and Don Browns of the world. Well, right, I said, look at look at JP GRAWFORD put the way they're looking at six to now, as right now the whole lea is trying to get six dough from this team. Look. Yes, all those and easy to give them up. Look at all the players we got rid of for Roy how day and cliftlet cliff Lee. How many of them panned out? None of them. Not, none of them. Mike Connald, killer, Kyle Drey back, none of them. None of them. Down Brown had a good two months of his career. Like none of them. Yeah, right. So, while I agree with Scott, yes, you got to look at him like all right, listen, we got whatever their rank is in the minor league system. Imagine down. Just just say you come away with Harper the scenario you just made it in two years, when trouts available, Harper's only be twenty eight. It's one year. Well, here in like it is. His contract off after two, two thousand and twenty. He becomes a free agent. Two and twenty of you are so sorry. So we only got to sit tight for one humbers. Harper's twenty eight. Returning Twenty eight. Hoskins is what? Twenty five? You know. Oh, double's twenty five, if he's still here. Nick Williams is twenty five. Everybody's in that peak. King Gary's twenty three. You're going to bring trout in it. Twenty seven. Now trouts trout. At that time. I think we will be twenty nine. Okay, you are, but do you not want to time nine? My prows lately a hundred percent trust. Going to be good. Twenty thirty. Now I'm just saying he's going to get twenty nine. If anything, you got a young Roman Quinn, so trouts a little bit older. You move him to the left. HMM, Christen, they're keep Roman Quinn Center field. He just might now you may have to give up Roman Quinn and that the old for troup, but that's fine, because trap and place our field. That's right. Harper and Hoskins, yeah, have at it. When if hosts real touchable? Yeah, honestly, other than him and Nolan, and I meet him, and already untouchables on this on this team. Guess they're the only two on the face of your franchise are the guys you're building your team around. I'd like to keep Nick Williams, but if they ask for Nick Williams for trout, yeah, you're probably gonna have yeah. Well, they ask for Nick Williams, then you just move. I'll tear out the left yeah, I mean what child there has trouble staying on the field? You're heard every position there there a good position right now, and didn't they? So if we if we...

...have to give up that number one pitcher, you're just going to have to beat teams eight two six. You have to bash and that's and I think with the Harper in the lineup and a trout in the lineup and if we get my Choco to bashing homelones is not going to be an issue. Like to SK Hoscar was got a go again earlier. The first thing Gargana said is like, listen, you got no under contract, right, you can, if you set up this team to go and bash other teams. It, like you said, win eight two six, whatever. You can have anola and then sign your Jake Garrietts, who were three Thousan two hundred thirty three. You're Jay haps who are thus s thirty eight. You can bring those guys it. Yeah, because the game, and Scottle, you guys will tested this. The game isn't starting pitching anymore. The Games bullpen, bullpen. They have there every settle the world share, the share. Last couple of years have picked up two guys for the bullpen, exactly. So if you have to, if you have to go and say, all right, I need a Jake Garyett at thirty five to get me through five innings and then I'm going to throw it to my bullpen, right, but you have the offense that can bash. Right. If you got to win like that, then win like that. Sure. I mean the phillies when they were in their run, bashed a lot of tea. Yes, yeah, they didn't have the greatest pitching staff in the world. Yes, they. Jamie Moore thrown fifty. Yeah, I mean like the it's Joe Glad. It's not like theaters and CALLAMMAS and everybody team and wins the sea, the world series where. But you could get it by like that, forty for whatever. You hit a guy like that that, if you that, if you put them in a right position and you have an offense he can come out and not feel like I got to be perfect today, because if you look at the offense now, a guy like nola comes out and he goes, I'm probably gonna have to be perfect today, or damn near it, because we're going to score two or three run right, right, if I say, listen, we're going to it's a lot to throw up at least six runs a game. Yeah, just go. So, Scott is on the MINCO is go since, go pict your game. Let's go pitch your game for since and we'll bring the bullpen in for for us. And that's why I'm we were was so successful. Brett Myers wasn't the greatest picture. Joe Plant wasn't the greatest picture. They had amlals and plane just hits home runs in the world series. That's me. And he was a he was a type of guy that just gives up. Eight run is far run. You get a guy that can just hit his spots. Yeah, and I'm like, listen, you hit your spots, you do your thing, we're going to score six runs the game. Who was one of the best petchers of we've watched with the land of Raves, Madus maddocks. All he did was pick corneration over Parry did overpower him. And smaults. Yep, not all small side power. But if maddox was just corner, corner, corner, and say they had an offense to be you couldn't touch it. And and great. There were some mompires of game in three inches out or for and you listen, but when you're a picture exaccurate, when he's that accurate, I would give them that straight. IFLOSI, so, okay, Hoss No, I empty my bolt, I empty my farm system right now for a trout. If, if I don't, well, if I don't get Harper and after you have win our meetings, I grant heavy after trout. Yeah, but you got to sign Harper or Marchado, because the president of your team already came out and said we are spending money, we're going to spend the fool shot not to pools. She but was. So if you walk away with the winter meetings, not with them too, it's a bad, big, bad offseason. All right. So here we go. Before break I want to go to etwenty is. Who Do we come at at the end of December? Wood, who's the key piece? We came out of this winner with. I think we have to choose. We have the better chance of getting bryce Harper the lesser chance of getting the Chato and and I think that's the way it's going to play out. The chances of US getting both I would have to put on their twenty percent. What are you think? I'm taking Harper's Harper's going to be a philly. Yeah, I think we're turning like shame thing. Yeah, Definitely Harper. I've a quick question. If they only got my child, oh, which I don't think it's gonna Happen, do you think that would be enough to fill up that stadium? Yeah, yeah, yeah, I mean there's you know why? Because then they're going to use the money. Go after picture, okay. You Got Kluber from Cleveland out there. You Got Cleikofer Houston still out there. So if you going to get Machado and not Harper, then you go after your Shart and pitch from goetter club, or you go after Pykele, okay, and bring them they're going to send those. Got Miller out there, is a reliever from the Indians, and bring Miller in as your seven eighth guy. Yeah, you're good. They're going to fill up the stadium to go boo Machado when he does it, run out there. That is round specially got your only way. He's going to fill up that. Now you put a harper in there. Yeah, they're going to get all the people down. Yet Harper's it's Harper's rout and then, yeah, need the most reckoned. Yeah, but im same like you get trout. You got a full house every night. No, I was just saying in general, like trout, Harper, like a casual baseball fan. Besides, like whatever team they root for, I don't think they can name another player. Yeah, I don't think my Childo gets the casual fans to go down. That's the other two will. That's what I was if the other two will, but I don't think Machado will. Okay, and he's not going to play well he here if he keeps that mentality. Yeah, obviously you want to win more, but that's stadium was empty. Majority. Oh, yeah, I'm Oh, yeah, like you, you would like to see at least the announced the ten. It was around Twentyzero every night. But there's all. You lucky if you had as well. That's sales. That's not yeah, but you know what, right they even hung in a race for how long? Exactly, up until weep and they were good leaving. That was.

Yeah, great, they were in first or second place exactly, and they still couldn't sell out into it. Told allus in August they were first or second. Yeah, but they had no marquis guys. NOPE, and I don't think they I don't think anyone believed in that team or bought what they were selling. I really don't. They were just waiting for the house of cars to collapse. I asked. Ultimately it did, because I don't think there was a name for people to grab onto. Hostile that's it. Yeah, but I mean, yeah, you had the slump in the beginning here. That's so. I guess you were left field. Yeah, worried about more playing left field and worry about is. I think that really affective game. The biggest thing with the phillies last year. There was no reason to go out and get Garlos. Say, intatty, you didn't need a first base. No, but they just saw the bat. They figure he was going to hit thirty five here. Sure, yeah, but you're getting an America League guy coming to National League. It happens every year. You see it all the time in free agent an American League ballplayer does not sit well in the National League for some reason. They need that year to adjust. Carlos is going to you watch, he's gonna have a batter year with Seattle because he's back in the American league. If they keep him, they're already shot at already during Shapina right, but they can put him into DH rollers comfortable. You don't need to play for he really wasn't a good first base when Cleveland or here he'll be a Yankee. How much you want to bear, because they're looking for a first basement. If they get they leave somebody at end trade deadline to make that wrong, to put the pressure of what happened in a winner meetings. That could happen wrong one. How many games? Let's shoot Yank you are a night. Yeah, and they still lost the division by double digits. Yeah, yeah, I'LL BOSTON. Want a hundred and some. They were like I know said our right now. They were overwhelming, like the entire sets high. Yeah, yes, but I have a film. We're going to walk away with Harper, because I think Machado's going to go to the Yankees because they really need a short stout and then when good dd Gaius comes back, don't move him the third. There you go, Ma Chado, I think are broken spoken into the into the e Thursday. Say All right, we're going to take our last break. We're going to let Scott get back the bartending. Thank you, guys. We're going to we're going to track down J SNS can get him to come up here and give us a little information on the event. Pease wore. We wrap back on them like for a little while now. You listen to two hundred and five lives, Santa Boo. First from wildfire RADIOCOM. Welcome back to the second annual be from beer to benefit our veterans. Coming to you live from the park would youth organization. We're wrapping up our last segment here. Before we finish up, I got the man behind all this, the man to put all this together, as it has us all run in the way. It is Mr j Shens Ky. J. How are you? I'm well, Oh, you good. So this is your second year doing this. Last year was a really good event. I believe you. You hit them. arked that you're hoping to hit last year. What let's just start real quick by saying, why is it that you put this event together? Why this is the second time you're doing it. Well, first I got to put out the the credit to two others, Jamie Misnick and Bill Moser. I couldn't do this by myself. You know both of them. We kind of all pour on weight with this and I think the reasoning for me doing this I've been in the military for twenty three years. I seen the good sides and I seen the bad size of what happens with you doing deployments. I see the less fortunate guys coming home where, whether the struggle with PTSD or physical injuries, and or the guys that become homeless and they have had they have nothing to fall back on. Sometimes divvy doesn't work the way supposed to. So right now is local. I would love the branch out and be a lot bigger, you know, and help more people by last year we raise six grand for the guys up on Southampton Road and this year we pick two different locations. One's best for best. They take some guys in off the street, giving a place to live, resume build put them up and, you know, line them up with jobs and to put them in the apartments and then kind of push them back into society, you know, and get the encouragement where they can. They can make this work. The other place is open arms to of Nicetown on kensanton AD. I actually served the warrant there. I work for the Police Department and they had veteran stuff paying over to place and I seen the conditions now there and it's bad. I mean Brown mattresses and that's bad condition. So I talked to the guy down there. He told me was a hundred percent vet. Is Not, but there are some guys out down there that our vets and we're just trying to improve the conditions, whether we can need a mattresses, blankets, pillows, coats, anything that we can do to help them out. They gave up there, you know, their time and sacrifice, you know, to help us as at least I can do is put a couple bucks together and, you know, get them what they need, a nice so you are you look into and I know you just mentioned it, but are you looking to maybe, as you know, this is still in its infancy stages. This is only the second year you're doing it, but you're looking to maybe combine out with it? Maybe some other people that are doing the same thing and make this more of a grand scale kind of thing. Sure, we're trying to grow. You know, we have the Guy Jake from bet for bets. He's going to come and meet with Bill Moser and Jamie musick shoot some ideas at each other. Maybe make this into where...

...we have our own tax ID number, become our own organization. We want this to be a hundred percent where the money goes to the people that need it. We can use some experience from other people to help. You know that already have it. Organizations going mission barbecue manager, she she helped us out. Says Hey, Ho, these different plans, I got all kinds of people I can put you in touch with. So you know, we definitely want to branch out, become bigger, help more people, but it's baby steps, you know. We're just three got some park would yeah, mostly, and we wanted to get guys that bets that we not to come up and really just hang out and drake make a little money for the guys at the local or right and it just it's getting a little bigger than we expect it. What's good? I mean it's good for, you know, the people with money going to go towards. So yeah, I agree, and last year we were here, we were fortunate enough to come out and do the do the broadcast. Last year we had a couple more people here. We did a couple different shows and it's nice to see. Like you know, sometimes you have a hard time. You see it just like everybody else, when you try to put these events together. You know, I talked to j before the show. You just you're kind of hoping because when you first put this out, you hear from ten, fifteen people. Yeah, I love the common and you get nervous because everybody says that when I come to events like this. So to see, you know, like last year, to every table was filled. You know, they had the honor guards here and and the young lady that comes to things, the national anthem. It's a really great time and I think from being a proud member too police department as well, I go in and out of these these shelters and and, you know, the the soup kitchens and all these other things that they have and it really is deplorable conditions, man, you really are. I mean they got these guys stack two and three high on top of each other because there's just nowhere else to put them, you know, and, like Jay said, unfortunately they're suffering from so many different things it. That's all they know is those conditions. So to be able to throw even just, like you mentioned, three guys in park would but three guys from park. We getting together and throwing an event like this is just it's needed, you know, it's greatly needed. So we're hoping that, yeah, it does take off and hopefully we can be involved in trying to get this thing, you know, bigger and better every year. I think. I think what you're doing is is a great thing, Jay, I really do, and you know that's why we enjoy coming out here in volunteer at our time, because it's needed it. I think it's great what you're doing because you're helping put the word out. You know how, and every reach thousands or you know how many people listening to your podcast. Millions, millions, a hundreds of millions. You know you're listen. We just rock. Man, I'm just by end up. It's snow the air right now. Well, far as you say, like two point five million listens this year. So there's any people listening. So it's anybody helps put the word out. You know, I shared on facebook. I can only reach it only allows you reach five hundred people and other people share on was up petting like a thousand people. So and it doesn't matter. Two hundred peop show up, that's that's fantastic, you know. But Mission Barbecue, they want to be on board. By spreading a word to battalion commander from the military. He found out what I was doing. He wanted to put the word out to all the other units. So little by little, I think, you know, each year maybe this grows a little bit and you know, maybe, you know, I don't know, maybe become an organization where we have a house where we could take people in all the street eventually, I I don't know. We have a lot of ideas that we throw at each other. Some of it's so Ey, something's great, you know, but like I said, we'll just read do from Parkwood and that's all. We all just read do some parks where we're not any different from anybody else sitting out here right now and we're just trying. So we'll see where it goes. It's a certainly a commendable thing that you do here. There's no doubt, and I enjoy doing this and it's for a great calls and for a great benefit, but it would be great if, because it in my mind, there are certain professions that should never have to worry about things, and military is one of them. Topical List. Yeah, if you're willing to put your life, you know, along with being a copy in jeopardy, your physical wellbeing in jeopardy, and willing to give the ultimate sacrifice for the country, the country in return should be willing to make that same sacrifice in return for to you and take care of you when you come back all right from a deployment, and it's but you know, especially when you're coming back with these different physical ailments, mental ailments, whatever the case may be, a veteran should not have to worry about where's my next meal coming from? How am I going to get help for this, this thing that I came back with? It I can't explain, I can't understand what happened to me over there. I think the funny thing is, I don't want to say it's funny, but a lot of these veterans they have such pride they don't want to hand out, they don't want to help, and I could do something I own and I can still survive. Know they have the survival tactics already built into them and where I can make it on the street and to do better than have to worry about the va and you know, hey, here's a handful of pills, because you know, we don't like you know, the way you talk and and and I certainly get that. I get that that mental aspect of you. Know, not that I was ever in the military,...

...but I get I understand aft. Certainly Talk to enough people that are in the military, read things, watch things that they they have that mentality about them. Right. Get that. I understand that. But you hope at some point, if somebody recognizes that they're suffering from something, that they are able to get through to them or they've recognized it on their own and are able to write say I need help. You know, agreed. And and it's great what we're doing here, what you're doing here with J A, are doing here, and it's it be nice if the government wouldn't would make these kinds of things unnecessary due just take care of people. Sure, I think probably most of the population agrees with you where it should be a lot easier for these guys to be taken care of. Unfortunately, it's not. It's not the reality. I agree. Yeah, you're going to jump through hoops that you know, ole see to. Yeah, it did. Bureaucracy is is a painting the ASS. I got hurt in Iraq and non hundred eight and my back still jacked up and I haven't heard from the Va, I want to say, at least two years. Wow, at least two years. Well, but used to send letters here and there. You know, maybe I want to say everything months, but it's been two years now. MMM, like, so something's broke. Yeah, you know, and I know trump came in. He says he's going to fix things because it was broken before him. And I know they fired a lot of people, but firing people also has a downfall too good. Now you got one person trying to do with three people's Jos. sure, sure, so to they get people in the in the places are and I did start doing the right things about these guys. I guess it's the same Ol, same Ole. MMM All right. So listen, we're going to wrap up here. I do I do want to say Jay, I appreciate your you know, putting us together, you and bill and amy, I do want to tell you, even though we are co workers, I do appreciate your service to the city of Philadelphia. I appreciate your service to this country. You're one of the reasons why this, one of these things, is necessary. We appreciate you having us out here and I appreciate you guys being don't hesitate now going forward. If this thing does turn out wildfire, will be there, okay, to get the word out. How reneed us to get the word out. We're here for it. I want to thank everybody from the Parkwood family for helping this run smoothly. Jamie just sat down.
