ABOUT THIS EPISODE

Eagles/Falcons Summary along with Eagles/Lions preview.

Good evening, we prompt and welcome to a period another episode, are you say? The first podcast little little off tonight, you know, because it's a Wednesday night. What's that? A Saturday? More dark outside it is? It's up with that? I don't know. I don't know what we're here special. Addition, there will be no live show Saturday scheduling issues, but we're here Wednesday night and just like the eagles game, this whole thing is going to be odd to me. I forgot say it will get you forget, Paul. Hours throw me off. There's only two of us, but we do have a handsome face behind the grace. They're oh that guy. Well, I gonna say hurtful things all the time, teap I took time out of my life. You did beat her, did you guys? And we had even its effort. They're Steve. I didn't even hesitate. I said hang out with my voice from saying I'm Ben. He's just taking shots. Very right to day. You got a shot of POPs back there. You're good. True, true, and there's the plenty more when I came from so yes, as always. Oh, we getting drunk tonight. It's a Wednesday, right, so Wednesday. It's a home day. Power bipops. MMM, coming to you live from the new yellow jacket media studios. Not New Studios, but yellow jacket media. You saw the announcements a couple weeks ago and, as always, thanks to our sponsor, MGM agency, Matt Maloney in sure Phillycom give mad a look. Log In there up to ten quotes in about ten minutes and we are ready to go. So, as I said, that game Sunday night. It's just in odd feeling game. We sat a new Saturday. Yep, two of us were pretty confident. One of us was really confidant, confident. No names flanned right. And then thir thirteen by concerns that we just seem to stumble down. There came to fruition, but there was a different type of stumble. Yeah, the injury bug snuck in. It took a bite out a few of our players even before. They a few, more than a few. A few wouldn't a few? Yeah, and they just never got over them. Now because of that, now you got to throw in. So let's go through the walking dead here. We got first started with got it didn't even get into the game. Nope, pregame calf, then Aushot. I don't even remember seeing a shot on the field or to Sean the show and I remember seat him out. I'm not mean, not my, not me. So I house on de Shan Kimmy journ again, broken foot, Corey Clement. Who Else? Carson went out. Carson went for the protocol. Elsie when it also went for the protocol, although he explained that today and his interview on on at a radio saying that he was thinking of the previous couple plays and how he could have done things differently, maybe had a better outcome on those plays if he had done things differently. He explained it away as his head was somewhere else. Not He wasn't concussed, but his mind was somewhere else. He was living two plays before, three plays before, thinking about things that he could have done differently. If you know, if he had done something differently, played outcome would have been better. And he was lost in those thoughts and just started off to the Atlanta sideline, realized what he was doing and and run back to the other side. Okay, according to him and how he was that kind of I mean he's a fairly honest dude. I hear most of his interviews and he's a pretty honest guy. He tells it like it is. My mind goes back to Luisanda Haus. Remember having Stuart Bradley? You? Well, no, remember Louise was went to the cowboys. Yeah, the next season and got rock to keep up eagle sideline, but now broad the other stay. Yeah, yeah, I do remember that. It's just again, it was just a weird game, the way play. It really was. I mean it's Matt Ryan. Tip your hats to feel it's not going to win them all. Right, to use the cliches. You're not going to win them all usually right. But Julio had his day play. Finally, finally had his day. Las On me always has a hunt. Well, not always. The last time I forgot the knock on wood when I said all that shit that I was saying. I was in her claims seems to get yardage against us. He just had yards. jutches right, he did both. MM. That last cutchdown...

...had he had was just, first off, the defense, the cornerbacks playing that soft at that point in the game. Yeah, and then he just got pancaked. Then Julio was gone. Now he's catching Julio on that field. No, unless maybe Darren sprowls is at but he's not going to be able to tackle, he's matter to show on. So yeah, it was they never gotten a rhythm. I don't even want to say because at landed didn't have a good they didn't have a run a game. Either team had a running game now. So nobody really established anything other than we're just going to throw the ball and see what happens there. I was so I was so angry, upset with the way things started in that game. It was it was unlike any game I've ever seen. You know, to start out with three players, three prime players, on offense, to be eliminated right off the bat, you know, after your first possession, that and and I was so pissed off about things and this and that, and and after a few days, you know, it's been a couple days now, started thinking about it. You know, that really threw a huge monkey wrench into the game plan in the game calling of a dog. Yeah, you know, because now you're you're playing with guys that well, first of all, Carson hasn't really played much other than a shan. Jeffrey hasn't played much with the other receivers he's got going with them now anyway. And now you're throwing in the subs that he had no time with even in practice, or very little in practice. There's no, no chemistry at all there with them. There's no symmetry, there's no, you know, recognition of tendencies, idiosyncrasies, nothing of that going on. So I know that contributed to coming out flat and not being able to do what they I'm sure that they wanted to do, you know, to start the game. What I didn't like was, okay, we're going to continue to try and throw the football regardless, regardless of all the injuries, regardless of art our plans being thrown up in the air. I'm going to continue to throw the ball, even after I see my quarterback get rocked in the ribs. Yeah, you know, and just try and fight through it. You have, you still have, your running backs. You have your three prime running backs. Why can't you work them in a little bit more? For two reasons, one, to try and keep that defense a little honest and to number two, Keep Your freaking quarterback upright, man. I mean he's the franchise. If he goes down, we're screwed. I know we said that once before and ended up put a chick right. But sorry, Josh, but you ain't nick, you know. And he yeah, that's another point to make later, your rice. So I would have liked to see them try and run the ball, you know, go back to the base expected up on the metals, trying. And look what Minnesota did to them the week before. Yeah, anny throw the ball ten times and just pounded the ball down their throat. Now, to Atlanta's credit, they were desperate team, you know. I know it's only the second game of season, but they're dead. It's their home opener. They've lost three times in a row to the eagles. They just got pancaked up in Minnesota and, you know, didn't even bother showing up from the game, from all reports. So they're desperate team to come out and win a game and they acted like it to start the game and took advantage of our of our, you know, bad luck in misfortune, and I'm sure they were watching the scoreboard from earlier. Sure, right there. You don't want to go into now hearing that one of your arrivals just lost their story quarterback for six to eight weeks whatever. It may be. Yep, you got a real chance to get a leg up on the rest of the division. Yeah, and you got you gotta win this home open a. You gotta Win this. MMM. I think the player that impacted the game the most is probably the name that we wouldn't expect, but I think got it was really the bigger impact because they seem to be more successful running out of that to tight end set. So I think with Dallas getting injured and they didn't even have a third string tight end to put in there, Zach Ertz played every offensive snap. Yeah, at the end of the game he was almost breaking it down. He was. He was done every offensive first time he's ever done it. Ye. So it just gives the show that you can, you can play and you can have continuency. For one receivers goes down right, all right, I'll stin. Goes Down, then our means are Nelson and the Shaan. I'd be happy with that. Nelson or the Shawan at Aushan go down, then all right. If you had...

...got it all right, well, maybe we can split Earth's out and have him play semi, MMM, wide receiver. Put Him in this in the slot. Maybe you could also on the spells out wide. Yeah, he's done it before. Yeah, and I heard the bar works on the postgame show, bad brooks with the Gove, with the go up. Yeah, he said it and he was preaching about going back to the running. And actually, now I don't know if it was actually set, Joner said, why couldn't they bring dillard into play the other tight end position so that they can get into that running, that that to tight end set for running. And you know, and I think he said, that Dillard has played tight end in his career at some point, so he's not completely unfamiliar with the position. It's like Peters, right. Yeah, although Peters Ain't playing tight and now he's stakes, and I hope he doesn't listen to this. It's not a guy. You and I think, great, yeah, he's hot, he's not waiting for it's in the park a lot. When we walk out. We had the drama Queen again. Yeah, he is again not finish a game. And I get it. You're older, you're a big boy, but many you need. Eighty percent of peters doesn't cut it anymore. Right, a few years ago. Yeah, I'll take him. An eighty percent of Viti orever you're going to throw out there in the edge? Sure nowadays, I don't know. It's if we can get dillard in there and maybe move I've heard people say move peters into a guard. I don't know how that works either, though, because he's sure big. Yeah, that's going to clog up your running league and guards are usually the bigger of the of the offensive lineman. But yeah, I don't know about hitting him and imagine him and roller. He's he's too big for guard and guards are usually the bigger ones. I mean, there were a couple of replays that I watched him during a game and he's just a really large man. I mean that the one defensive end was was going around them pretty easily in the second half and I'm like, my God, this guy's just and I think I think DJ mentioned that he's lost thirty pounds or something like that since last year. I'm like, well, he needs to lose another thirty or forty because he he's just, he's a man. He's a block of a man. Yeah, I don't know if he would fit through that door comfortably. That's INVITAMIN. Let me. Can we get him in here? And you know, this guy's playing the blind side. He's got just the feet. Thanks that second do I bet you. If we asked our buddy shift him, he probably eats like protein bars and that's it. Yeah, right, he gets his egg weights on and that's yeah, the problem is he's getting five dozen egg wits in. It was a pathetic performance, pretty much. Yeah, and that's that's another whole issue was the offensive line as a whole was just not good. Carson got hit ten times, up and down. Ten Times. You get hit. Yeah, you see, he was rubbing at the ribs. HMM. He still made some that play where he was basically on his knees. You got to throw off you expect them, but he he was sailing balls and he looked rushed. What I hit to the ribs had to effect his accuracy. Yeah, but I still feel like he's pushing. He's just trying too hard. He I think he has a tendency to try and make the big play as opposed to take him what's there now. What I'm saying he's looking to get the ball two thousand and twenty five yards down field instead of throwing it five yards down field and hoping the guy picks up another five yards or so. Yeah, and to your what you said earlier at that's what kind of what Josh was still when he was taken, what was in front of them, as opposed to trying to force the ball down field a little. Hopefully that comes with age and experience. You know, don't always eat. You can only score point six at a time on a touchdown. You can't score twelve points at a time on a touchdown. So stop trying to go for that big shot. It's just just take what's there. The gunslinger mentality its good in its bed and you want him to we pause for a minute to imagine a twelve point play. It's like, yeah, rock and Jack, Badman. They totally just change the game from me. Is there a hot spot on the field where if you throw it from there, sure, it's well points. Yeah, it's like the three point line. If you if you throw it from beyond your thirty. Yeah, it's a twelve point play. Deep Shine. That changes the way it's done. He's he's out here. They woke bitch. I'm thrown to twelve point touch downs. He's just threw me off Cox. I'm sorry.

Well, you always hear you know, I just imagined what what that would be like and teams that are down by like in baseball, or you know, you she can scores four runs at a time, that sort of thing. You know, that's the same idea. Sorry, deep thoughts. Yeah, Deek Martin, we should get this wagony nice things. Just got my brain scrambled. For what it's worth, I mean that's a good cut for your show that we can just share out preteatedly. Take explained that you can't go for the twelve point play. We'll see if you could actually like that to talk it over it. Listen, I got we got our ways. It's different now. Things are we upgrade a little bit. We've got came these. Well, could you just say that one more time? They can clear. There's no such thing as a twelve point playing football. He did it again. Stay woke. First off, I don't know where that sounder came for on the board, but it's my new worthy thing ever written in perfectly. Yes, after all this, they still had a change. Yeah, they still that, and that's what this team is going down to it. Yes, you know, and we said when we are in your Saturday, it's a game where you're going to need to be up to the end. It's that's how I felt about it. Right, Fran can you know time? We lost a few sheckles this weekend. It is his bets. He we're going to have his buddy big man on campus and here. Maybe he'll teach flan of thing two about his betting habits. The one saving grace out of that debacle of a game was that you can say all that happened and they still they were still in position to win the game. If Nelson catches that pass on the sideline, they more than likely win the game. I don't know how much time was going to be left. Maybe a minute and Junger two. It was on there too, so maybe a minute and a half at most would have been left. It would have mattered. That was six. Yeah, but that would have put them only up three with the with the Pat Yeah, how many? Twenty four? Yeah, we'll put them up twenty four with the PA. There wasn't a twelve point play. I think it's not, certainly not at twelve point play, but it would have given them the lead. He would if that would have been touched down. Yeah, Oh, yeah, yeah, and I mean like no, not arguments that I'm arguing that it wouldn't have see it wouldn't have been a game winner. They're still would have been time left and they I think they had at least one time out, if not to he catches that and they go and and it goes for the touchdown, right. Yeah. What does that do for like Carson, as far as like games all time, like that's got to be out there as top three. That's to game winning drives in or to lead taking drives in the same game. Like. Yeah, shoot out of the end like that's Bois right there. Yeah, and his short career, that would have to be one of his all timers. Yeah, all right, I agree. Yeah, especially when you take in the consideration everything that happened, yeah, to that point. Yeah, the whole story of that game, if it led to that, if that's how it ended. Yeah, that's definitely adding to his legend. MMM, not to jump ahead either, but I think that that game is indicative of not the Eagles being bad, but the falcons. I mean, for what it's worth, that was a bodybag game that they'll be talking about for a while. We took out the show. We took that all right, like, from our perspective, we hit a chance to win the game. We lost it in with the last three minutes of the game. Like yeah, and even after Nelson dropping the ball, was still were there to win the game. I don't understand that sticks play. Not Understand how hearts doesn't get across that fast. As a as a veteran tight end in the league, he note he has to get across that line. But he said, you think right, car, he's got to know not to throw him the ball if he's flat footed in front of the light. Yeah, but who else was? was anyone beyond the stick? But does that matter? Yeah, he shouldn't turn until he's there. He needs to be yard and a yard beyond. Yeah, that's like I would agree with you, like in the sense of who else is over whatever, if he could, if archs was on the move or, you know, something in that like it was a design play that way. But when Earth's runs and he runs that button hook or the comeback and he stops where he is, Carson has to recognize he's a full yard or right on the line. Right, like Carson has to recognize where his receiver is on the field and what that's going to do. And either, you know, don't make that throw and go somewhere else with it or way do something, but don't make that throw right. And I'm not blaming it on Carson, because it's right, more on earth's for running the wrong route. But and another sting isn't known to be a guy to get the extra yards it. Now he goes down a first contact way. If he's open, yeah, he'll take off, but you know he has got that little hitch where, after he already did his button hook, he's still...

...going to have that little hitch where he wants to spin and try to any look like he's getting ready to reach for it. Then pulled it back in. But yeah, that's like the old it's like the old richie coat lake, like why are you throwing a three yards short? Let the stick. It wasn't that Short. And there's this play. But yeah, you know where the marker is. Get to the marker, go a stepper two beyond it and then turn and and and earth's is he's got the momentum going to the Spick, the stick, but when he stops on a diamond turns, his momentum now is coming back to the ball. Yeah, it's not going forward anymore. So when he catches that ball, he's you know, he's not falling forward, he's not leaning forward, he's not running forward. You know, everything is is in an a lateral movement or backwards movie. He's coming any's a great on the line. That's why he needs to be at least a half a yard beyond so that if you catch the ball and you don't make another inch because you're being tackled from behind like he was, you're still your fool. The progress is marked beyond the stick. Yeah, and you know arts has to know that, Carson has to recognize that. So you know and and that's that. That's the thing, like you just say, the first that's a pet peeve of mine about Zack Arts, as great as he is. His he goes down far too often on first contact and it's usually it's not usually somebody hitting them up high, it's somebody hitting them the waist or lower, and he goes down right away. He you know, unless he's jumping. Sometimes they'll jump over that tackle. But when a guy, when a guy goes waist or lower on him, he always seems to go down immediately. He never gets any anything more than another yard if it's right off the bat. So another play that could have changed the outcome of the game with the two point conversion. I think he got it, but the whole rule change last year I still don't get it. So I there's way too much trying to protect the quarterbacks. If he slides feat first night, he's giving himself up there. I get that, but he's going head first in for a score. That should not be a rule change. That's I'll take concussed quarterbacks, I guess. Yea over points, because that seems to be it's a protection. Yeah, thing that he was in. If he gets that, even if they kicked the peat the point after they're they're in position, Jake Elliott can kick a field go at the end of the game. They're to dine up. Yep, yeah, yeah, I. Yeah, I don't like that rule change. I was unaware of it till they after they explained it on the broadcast, and I'm just not in favor at all. I mean these guys, they're grown men being paid handsomely to play a game. I get the safety issue. It's a big thing. I get it, but it is here's a question is, is that rule just for quarterbacks or any player? I think it's just quarterback just quarterbacks, that they dive head first. See, yeah, I don't don't like that at all. They allow it for the on the one you know you're on the first, the one yard line, and you're doing quarterbacks, neeak to Tom Brady. quarterbacks. N He, I guess they're. Your knees aren't going. Your knees aren't touching the run. So there are no giving yourself butt in. But if you, like you said, if you have some of these quarterbacks, none of these bigger guys, that that's there intent, hmm, to get that. If you don't want it to get down feet first, if you need that first down and you go ahead first, you still have the targeting really stiff the heme at the helmet. You can hit him with that. But that so is it? Is it when it's a feat slide first, where he starts to slide balls? That's where. Yet so on the head first slide, with contact or no contact, it's where he starts that slide. Feed first. On the head first car slide, is it where he starts to slide bald dead or do you get that for progress until you're touched? I don't so. If he takes flight and goes two or three yards and then his knees touch. Yeah, I don't know if it starts from the where he jumped, because I mean that's just that's wrong too. I mean, you got it. You should be given that forward progress. I don't like this new rule at all. I mean, they're big boys. Let them play. They're getting paid. They know what they're dealing with when they go into it. I think they they should. You know, it's too late to do anything about it now for this season, but I think they need to revisit that rule think about it again. So, with all the injuries, with the kind of lackluster play, we do still need to select a malone MVP the game. Where are you going? I'm going Jim Shorts. He's not on the field. I know he's not on the field. Did you see my comment? Did see your okay, yeah, we can't. I can't go for an MVP. I...

...just can't. I don't think any player out there deserves to be called an MVP for this week. So therefore I came up with the MVC most valuable coach and in my opinion, this week I think that was Jim Schwartz because of the way he kept the team desplay all the bad that was happening, his cornerback getting toasted play after play, he was able to keep the team within shouting distance of the Falcons to the point where they were able to take the lead late in the game. They didn't get the job done. They were well rested. Didn't get the job done late. I understand that, but you know he did. I think he did a really good job. He recognized his front forward wasn't getting pressure. Now he's down another tackle, so he starts bringing some pressure. It was successful. They got turnovers out of it by passes. So I got to give it to Jim Schwartz. Sorry, step into my office. Sorry, okay, it's player. It can't be a player this. I'm giving it to Zach Ertz. Right, okay, the guy play. I won't argue. I don't agree. He the regardless of missing that big first down. I don't know who else. You can give it to, Carston head, someone unbelievable plays, because I don't think there's a player worthy this week. All that, but we gotta go in aboard. All Right, oh Oh Yeus, will have to go a Roneo fabolt count. We're going behind the glass. We always like to gain. You Ain't get somebody the most valuable player to a coach. First off, deak, that's just that's why I wouldn't be see that's settle minute ABS. That's terrible. Secondly, you can't give it to the guy who, had he lined up a yard further or had he ran the rout a yard further, would have got you the first down. Continued on, you probably score there and win at the end of the day. The most valuable players got to be carson put them in a position twice. Listen, I get that it's hard to do that, but he did watch the first have I got it, but he got on the lead late in the game. He can only those first however, many plays are scripted, and somebody needs to call dug out for that, because two weeks in a row you're getting off the very slow starts for a guy who's supposed to be able to adjust, and that's like the big Ay read. Problem is he doesn't adjust you. I thought we were passed that. I guess maybe we're not, but those scripted plays that aren't working, you got to figure something else. Two weeks in a row against teams that you should have steam rolled carson put them in a position, gave him a lead. Lead. The defense, who you're crediting with Schwartz, gave up that lead. They did. And for what it's worth, like I said, if Earth's is a yard or if agular catches that ball, a totally different outcome. So I mean, if Carson's doing the things that he's supposed to, how do you not give it to him? At the first half, my stand panted added my cannets were Carson and and Zach. The interceptions that he through led the point. I look to me that the quarterbacks always the easiest one to give the MVP to, unless you have a run the back that has a really good gamer in defensive player that gets like three sacks for sex or a big defensive score. Couple couple solid games going on here. There's a couple solid comments. Dj. The Real MVP is Matt Ryan for keeping us in the game with terrible decisionmaking. J Fog, who's on my MVP every week. He thought the Falcons Cheerleaders Hashtag MVP. They did a great job. They need to show them more. Every team's cheerleaders. So I mean I agree with him because he's a man of wisdom, so creates sucking up. Well, here's the Jay we I feel like we need to get mad, since it is the MILONI MVP at one of these points too. Wait, my my buddy ron checked in, and he's a staple on our show. It's probably my most favorite listener. said that that was the best game he called so far by Schwartz. There you go. Yeah, so, so he's in my corner. I don't think he's in your corner. So, but let me, let me just visit this. You can get both right. You can give the most valuable coach. You can get them. I'm not doing as valuable coach again, like I said, step into my office where we played a game every week. You could do the deake Martin MDC. Yeah, coaches coach. Yeah, coaches coach in a Guinea. This week I'm gonna give it to Douce. There's a lot of holes right through them, holds big enough for dust to run through. He's a big dude, that see. Yes, if you're going to say it's the defense, if you're going to go with Schwartz, and let me humor you here, the fact that Izel...

Darby was getting burned all night and Schwartz didn't figure out how to rotate somebody over there to help him. They had two receivers go over a hundred yards. Yeah, and yet his defense kept them in the game. They got three interceptions, okay, they got a couple, you know, timely sacks or bad passes, kind of sex timely. Okay, think guy say exactly talking about. All right. So well, we'll agree to disagree on who the envy. I think we will. Will figure it out before we it's gonna be my pick, of course. Okay, maybe let's leave it up the mat with the comments. Go or yet me. Does it have to be people? I guess it doesn't need to be, sorry to say, Julio Jones. I mean you could go with Julio. That we guys, you guys Carosel, your show. Never okay, no fucking way. All right. So I actually greatly about damn it, I actually heard the announcer discussing Julio's play. Happened to I think he's on sterboys trying to cover a fucking race horse. That was that Ronald Darby live checket out of yeah, that was Ronnie. Check it in on the Darby Point. So there were a couple of cornerbacks that were available until I guess it was yesterday afternoon, or was it Monday afternoon? Make Up Fitzpatrick, and now we're here and after Jalen on the sidelines with coach Marone. He might be available. MMM, Doug came out today said me and Jalen every really good relationship. We talked it out. He's shooting up. They have a game tomorrow night. Coach, you speak, you're going to say that you're not going to see I'm pissed off of my player. And Yeah, we're shopping them around, but we need him for Thursday night. Right, you're not going to say that. I liked the idea of Manka. He seems to be more versatile. Can play him safe, you can play him corner. Jalen, though, he's got the name, he's got the pedigree. Are you willing to offer up? I think they want at least a first and then a couple other picks or a player. I don't know why people keep coming up with this trade. Hurt's not here. No, no, no, no, no, no. We have a lot of faith in God it. He hasn't proven it yet. I'm not ready to trade jacker no, the tight ends are going nowhere. You can't trade a receiver after what's going on now. You can't now. So it comes down to how he looking at next year's draft class and saying, all right, if I give up our first round pick, which is going to be hopefully mid to late twenty s, yeah, right, yes, if not, thirty two? Not Thirty two. Yeah, can I get a better player in the first round that Jaylen Ramsey? Because he can't. You can't be comfortable with this. To not ARY CAN'T WAG is camping. You haven't had a real lockdown cornerback. And do we see Leto? Yeah, that or maybe a Sante Samuel. Maybe we'll go to a sun. Okay, definitely wasn't Nominiti, but that was, yeah, pushing ten years. Yeah. So, yeah, so you making a deal for Jalen Ramsey? I would. Yeah, I give them a give them the one. How many twos do we have? I have an idea. What do you got? What do you got? But if we offered them Goddard and a first no, no, Godard by, because you brought it at it to tight end set. Dog's been preaching that. Let's see that. I wouldn't be totally opposed that, only because he's not as proven his act. Yeah, but run out of a two tight end said. I mean it's got to be pretty easy to find a blocking tight end. Yeah, but were really longer looking. I mean arts is in his prime and he's got several years left, but he's not twenty five now. He's like twenty eight, I think two twenty eight, so he still has five years left. Yeah, and Godard's five years a long time got. It's only like two years younger than three years younger than okay. So he's got eight years left, ten years left, right, but he's not going to take that. He's not going to be out of art's The shadow for at least three more years. Yeah, she with the Jalen Rans my mind. How much are you gonna have to pay him next year? What are you comfortable with? He's at thirty point seven. Contract is off right. So even if you trade for him, you have to get some kind of guarantee that you're going to be able to extend him and that you're okay with that, because we're not a team that really goes all in on a cornerback and pays fifteen, sixteen seventeen million. I believe I heard today on the radio there's an option for another year after after this year it's still going...

...to be I don't know if that's accurate, as he been in a league. This is his fifth year. Right. MMM, neither for he's been around, but I'm almost positive I heard there's an option for next year. This team has paid for cornerbacks in the past. It's not like they don't do it, they just don't get the right ones. Byron Maxwell Damdie. They don't pay for them. That buyer maxwell deal wasn't a lot. I thought he came into Le Nine at that point, which was if that's we're talking doubling that. Well, yeah, it's was four years ago, five years ago. It's more than that. I get it. But you got you got some players rolling off the salary. I still think look got it to the tight endpoint. They were happy. They like Alex Ellis, the kid that's on the practice quae. He just got promoted to come on. Ye, if you look at these last couple of years drafts, the DJ's fire in the comments. He is it's jotter. Won't God and won't spend his whole career behind Earth's but I'm not including him in a trade package for Ramsey. He also says a first, a V and Darby for Ramsey. So so, but he taken Darby. Why do they want to hear? He falls into the classic, the classic trap as a fan like your emotion says, I'm going to try to convince these dudes to take my trash. Right, nobody's taken to army, nobody's taken Darby, and you're not getting you're not getting Ramsey for first and a v. If you want to give us a six pick and Darby, what do we want with done? First in the fifth will take, I'm sure. So for all me. You want to give us an extra back of balls, yeah, we'll take it, but we don't want him. The only team that gets away with that as the Patriots. There's not another team in the League who's able to trade trash for it, for treasure. There's no way. They're the only team that can get away with trading a fifth round for, you know, a star player, Antonio Brown. Yeah, they didn't even have to trade anything. Yeah, they offered a first. That was rejected and they said finals will figure it out. We'll teach him how to get out of there. Don't worry about that, we'll figure it out. Keep the lines open. Yeah, but I think the tight end position seems to be like there's more of these guys available. It becoming a position in college that big guys it aren't big enough to be an offensive lineman but have good hands. They're learning at this is a position you can make some money at. Yeah, they don't really need a receiving tighten, they need a blocking tight end, right. So there is Alex Ellis blocking tight end considered. I think he's smaller, though he is smalls right. He looked. It looks a little white. Yeah, so I don't know how well of a blocking tight end he is. So many chimes in from cracked bell says so I ti Rams. He's awesome. I would give a one this year and a one next year. Time to win now. Breezes hurt opportunities. That I said T why? Yeah, he's got with the grain of size. Takes it to the brain of so he's thinking long term, right, what's going to screw us down the line? This isn't about he's not being generous, but his comment here. You always have to not trying to be helpful. You have to read between the rest. All right, let's so, since t wise listening in one of the topics we wanted to address. Careful will drive right over here. He's got many of time we're going to talk about he's like Bloody Mary. You say his name three times in a marriage. Shows up. He's Aty. Are you gotta Say Tommy? What what you gotta Say Tommy? Tom's don't say that their juice. This is the place. Is it a mirror? So it's not going to work. You don't say t why three times that's shows up. Just lock the doors. He have a key. There was, as a case, some quarterback activities weekend to we already mentioned. Breeze went down, were mentioned, big bat went down. We Got Sam Donald with his mono, WHO's out. They don't even know how long. It sounds like they're going to try to bring him back week five now maybe, but if it's spleen splatters, that's more of an issue. So they could be very careful with him. But the one that might be the most interesting is that Daniel Jones is now the starting quarterback for those New York football giants of Tommy's. I don't know. If Tommy's got a bone or thinking about it right now. But I know a couple folks I work with that are giants, fans it seem really excited about it. So he took a grounded approach. When it came out, I was on the phone with him talking at work. And because it goes great, we now have a seventeen million dollar back up. Like. He didn't even care about the Daniel Jones because he's realistic in knowing that they don't have a chance to win this year. But it was more the why pay? Why pay Eli seventeen million dollars to come back because this contract was up. You could let them walk and just started off with the rookie and from what I can tell, they're two losses. Aren't Eli's fault. They're just don't have any talent. Their defense stinks. He's got nobody threat of ball to either. Now Ingram, he's good, sterling shepherd, who's but he's been nice, complementary. He's hurt. Yeah, I think it's unfair. I mean he's going to get tate, who's an upgrade from what they have. If you have tate,...

...who's probably a legit one. I'm talking to low end one. Don't get excited. Yeah, he's he's probably a low end one, probably a high end to right. You pair him with Shepherd and you've got an okay receiving corps with Ingram, say Quan. Their offense isn't terrible. They should be able to win for five games, right, with that offense. Yeah, I thought they would win six this year. Yeah, they're defense the very better than the three that they wouldn't like. Yeah, I just for what it's worth, the hall of fame quarterback like. He definitely as a hall of Famer. That's where we wanted to go. So you're in. He definitely is. We were having this conversation through one of our text dreads today whether we think he's a hall of Famer. I I think he gets into the hall of fame. I don't know that I that he is a hall of Famer, though. I think he gets in because of the two rings and who he beat to get those two rings. He does have fairly impressive numbers. He's got over fifty three thousand career yards. He had I think it was three, say fifty three thousand. Yeah, that gets him in alone. He's got guys for now have thirtyzero. He's but how many you ramage, you got it. You got to put it into context when they played and the type of rules they played with. Okay, so I think Truy Aigman has three. He's got three rings, but he has less than Thirtyzero, I think. Right. How many pro bowls? A few? Yeah, well, I mean these are the guys we were going through this. We were trying to think about it. He's got a winning record. Bear, who Eli? Eli is some five hundred. Now, okay, Eightman had a winning record. Right. Elis never wanted MVP. No, he's got two super bowl advent piece, but he's never won an Mvprody, he had three hundred, I think it was three hundred and sixty plus tight touchdowns and two over two hundred interceptions. He's got the four pro bowls, which, in my opinion, have lost their luster over the last fifteen years. I don't go by pro bowls, I go by a pro, all proul pro, and he's got zero all pro. So that's a that's a that's a top right. How many quarterbacks get selected all pro every year? It's one for me. Try where's it to? MMM, I don't know. I think they have like three or four. Yeah, that's what I'm saying. Is it to from the NFC, to from the AFC? Now, I think did. They just picked two total, three from both three football six, not from the problem. I'm saying all pro, all problem. Sorry, I'm sorry. Yeah, I'll probably think it's only one. Yeah, totally water problem. Yeah, and it's only one all pro. That's really unfair to judge in the one from each conference, though, right, even if it's one for me from each conference. He's played in an error with three of the greatest quarterbacks of all time, right and right, including the greatest. That's what I'm saying. Three of the greatest of all time, but drew brees, Peyton Manning, his brother and Tom Brady. Right. So it's unfair to throw the all pro on them because there's other guys that are going to get in, like Roethlisberger and rivers. They're both hall of famers too, and I'll bet you they don't have maybe Roethlisberger might have one all pro, but I'm not positive on that tea. I would disagree on Rivers as well. He's not if his numbers are going to get them. You're talking about his jevity. At any point during his career? Was He the best player at that position? No, Eli. All right. So Dj says five hundred career record. Let's wise has five hundred. Even Dj says he never was a top ten quarterback in his career. Right, and ty said as he better than Warren Moon. He is into the answer on the Warren Moon, this is an intriguing one. So Warren Moon like yardagewise, if you look at his numbers sick, he would have had like sixty threezero yards without the CEEFL if you combine them, I think he would have had the most yards of all time if you can bind them like his yards between the two were sell right. Bread is over seventy, isn't he? He would have had more than seventy. I think he's got like sixty three just in the NFL. But he has like a bunch of the pop up is numbers. But he's an absolute hall of Famer who played on a bad team forever. Oh Yeah, yeah, the warrant that argument. So you look at quarterbacks like Greasy Bob Greasy and Kenny Stabler, but you got about the worst that they know laid. What I'm saying is creasy. Didn't have great numbers, he had two super bowl rings. He had a perfect on that undefeeded team, right. So that's why I pro bowls. Those type of I don't call me intangibles, but those other types of those other factors, I think are similar to Eli beating the undefeated Patriots, beating Belichick, twisting the Super Bowl. That's what pushes him over playing in New York and that's what which that's where I was going to get. Teen years he only took the giants to the playoffs six times. I think I read M so does does he make any of the players that he played with better by being their quarterback? I mean, you have potentially one of the...

...best recovers. He made anybody better? Wanted to leave him? Yeah, you know, I don't think he made anyone better on his team. You know, a guy like drew breese makes players better, Aaron Rodgers makes players, Tom Brady makes player about. I don't think Eli fits that category at all. And this isn't to bash just because he's a giant it. Sure there's a bit of it. Yeah, it's definitely affective of it, but I think he gets in. I just don't know that he's deserving and I so. Warren Moon has forty nine thousand plots yards in the NFL. He had twenty one thousand two hundred twenty eight yards in the CFL. Put them to gather, he's got seventyzero yards. Get a hundred and forty four touchdowns in the CFL. He had like two hundred and ninety in the NFL. So if you put that guy's whole career together, it's a pretty yeah, it's a stellar career. Yeah, and before anybody goes, you KULD, kill out the CFL stats. I mean I hear people making the argument for Reggie all the time. Yeah, right, come on, it's and it was a pro league. You just wasn't down here. It's the NFL hall frame fame, right, not professional football health the pro football hall of fame, not the NFL. It's the prof pro football also. That includes CFLS. That's the only way that they could. Well now, so because the CFL is the Canadian football league, I think that's excluded. So the USFL would count because it's United States game. I don't think. I wonder what his bus says up there, because you know the busts and list every he's played. I wonder if they consider I'M gonna be willing to bet that it doesn't mention his CFL career. MMM, I went to pro football reference for his stats and didn't mention his CFL care it on. Huh. Okay, wed with this, for there's Canadians forever. Yeah, the point of the problem? They're not very friendly. We don't want to include though. So I guess dog flute's getting screw too hush. What is Doug Fluti done for us? The babies, Boston University, MIAMI? All right, so I dj said he those college super bowls. Without that pass Russian a miracle catch, we don't maybe win the Super Bowl of Brandon Graham doesn't come around and get a timely strip sac. You can't blame US moment and every yeah, you can't blame the guy for being on a team with a great defense. The end of the day, he you can't say somebody who won two super bowls got lucky. Yeah, like you want two super yes, and he was the MVP of both of them. Maybe Trent Bilfer, clellly one one and he was levey. No, but if you would have won a second one, then all right, it's a different argument. Yeah, it's hard to say somebody who won, like a quarterback who won two super bowls, is lucky. There's only what five, guys, I think, that have won to how many is there? Not? There's got to be more than five. I'm being sarcastic, but there's only a handful, baby, seven, eight. Yeah, the Brady, Montana, young and and Bradshaw, or Bradshaw. At one point in our thread back and forth today, flame mentioned how many to ring quarterbacks are not in the hall of fame, and the only one we came up with was Jim Plunkett. But he he didn't have a stellar career until he got to the Oakland Raiders. J's fiery. Yeah, he said so. Now the eagles were lucky. I did it all. I'm saying as you can't. You can't say that the guy was lucky because of one play or because his defense. Like yeah, now, I agree, it's he's, he's he's more than likely to go in. Flane said that he was a first ballot hall of Famer. I don't know, I would be a jerk, but it's like five of nine. Do you want to play the commercial soon? Yeah, sure, before we forget too. I'm looking at my time. Hare'm like, we're rolling. Yeah, all right, so he lies in whether we like it or not. Yep, Tommy Young, suck it, Julie, enjoy Danny Jones. I could take a break on that note, pay a bill. You right back. Insure phillycom. We camparison shop all the time. Can I get this cheaper on Amazon? What will the store brands see me? So, unfortunately don't know all of the injuries and who's going to play. We know the injury, we don't know who's going to play. A lot of that did not practice today, but I don't think they ran a full practice. Any of was just a walk. And the receivers are playing. We know the show's not playing. Have they come out a Shawn's not going to play? I don't think God it's going to play either. Okay, I wanted to touch on it and and Father Cabar brought it up in one of our text heads. With all these soft tissue injuries to the lower body, is anything to do with US play it on grass and then going into these artificial turf fields as well? I thought about that and and he's right. Of course we play our home games on grass, but their practice facility is a turf field. I've been on it. I know the indoor, the end or the endoor okay. Yeah, and they spend a lot of time in the indoor yeah, you know, so it's not like it's a foreign surface to them. Yeah, and you know these guys play. You know they played all throughout their careers. Most high school surfaces are ash for turf around here. You had any scrambled fields around here? Many college surfaces are our ash the turf. They're not grass. So you know, it may be it is a consideration of factor, but I think it's a minor factor, not something that comes into play. You know that significantly. All right, well, see how we think they come into play this week against these mighty mighty lions coming to town off a big win verse. The Los Angeles chargers. Eagles are six and eight point favorite right now. See if that sways any with the injuries. We're going to run through our confidence picks for the positions see who we think we got. So we're going to start with quarterback. Who have more confidence in Carson, Carson, Steve Carson or Stafford? I gotta ask you got it. Why are you hesitating? What the Hell is that? I'm practical. I actually had the thoughts in that game to say enough. Okay, you and DJ I had them all right, if I listen, if you're if you're tuning into to our occasional squawker appearances, I said I thought that this size, that that Falcons game just lined up to be. If Falcon's situation, like our weakness, is where their strengths? That's, the end of the day, what it comes down to. So are you saying that you had Matt Ryan over Carson once in that matchup? I would have, because I would have thought that he had to throw a lot more. Wow. And for what it's worth, I mean Matt Ryan gets so many points in garbage time, so there's no way I could have been wrong on that. He was either going to come out and throw them into a win where they would have been behind. So I so much he would have thrown another two hundred yards of the fourth quarter. So you can't be wrong by that. Pig. Yeah, but this this is confidence in them winning the game, not just putting up numbers. Yeah, I'll take Carson. Take Carson Right. so that's a sweet for carsons running backs. Lions just cut CJ and or should and picked up a giant's throw away Paul Perkins, but they got carry on. Johnson who has it really looked too so far this season? Eagles got on. Eagles do all right, you go on eagles or lions with the running back situation? Lions. Yeah, I think I give a slate edge to the lines. They just only because I think that Jordan Howard needs to lead. Yes, they God having him involved more and I think if they do that that's in our favor. You'll listen and dog. That's why I went okay on Johnson, because they're going to give that guy the ball seteen seventeen times get him going, and that could one. I think sprowles was our leading rusher. Who is the leading rusher? On Monday? I think that sand your day ended up being sanders. Yet yeah, but so if you have that ejaculate only ran the ball. I shouldn't say only. They round about twenty times, I think, but they only got forty nine yards. So cold lead rusher if you want, but they got Tommy's trying to get a rise out of us again. He went lines to receivers. I think this is an easy when not go first S, I'll second that.

Dj said. The Eagles don't have an identity with the running backs yet. So we don't know what they are, so I think he's agreeing. I think yeah, I can agree with that. Tight ends. Bryan DOC says defense wins this game. Eagles by three. T Y says take the lions. Tight ends. Ty take something job, even with the fact that I don't know who they're. Tight end is on WAN to go. How can spoop? Yeah, like I said, had a good game last we'll go on with we quad. He had a get with arts. He had a good game last week too, did he? I think so. I'm not one hundred percent. I had you didn't do much of my fantasy squad. He might have like sixty yards. Okay, I guess for a tighten, I just get the feeling that he would have known where the sticks were and went one yard passed at that's my guess. I'm guessing he ad my positive I'm going to eagles on it. In you're going eagles. Yes, we go, Steve, Eagles. All right. Offensive Line. HMM, the lines have a good, young offensive line. Before last week I would have said the eagles. But yeah, I don't know if I want to continue to buy the story that we're run at the top five tensirect lea correct. I want to go drawl, draw, this is going to be our one, one allowed drawl per. Nowadays there might be one on the other side. We only so he had six catches for one hundred and thirty one a week one, week one, yeah, one for seven. Last week, one catch, seven yards. I think it back. Okay, I take it back. I thought he had sixty yards last week. Maybe I'm confusing with waller. You're going drawing offensive line. Carry on, Johnson, week one and sixteen for forty nine. Week two twelve hundred and forty one. Two receptions in both games. Two four hundred and thirteen. Game One two hundred and forty seven and game two with a touchdown, though. So not terrible, but at least they're giving the guy the he's getting fifteen touches a game. You know what I mean? They're getting given vouce. Sorry, what are we on? Offenfus a line, Eagles. I don't know if I can go push. I'M gonna. I'm gonna go with the experience. So Eagles Defensive Line. What that experience? Get your last on Sunday night. Defensive Line. This Chris, long back time for this game now. Will Chris lame back at some point. You know, the name recognition is on the eagles, but they haven't produced yet. Timmy journey can gone. Yeah, Lee Shaqir I, Keem Spence. Yeah, Hassan Ridgeway Hasan Ridgeway, but a bad penalty on Monday night. HMM, I'll take this one. I'll go with the eagles, but I'm not I was going to go the other way. I'm not convinced. I was going to give it the snacks. Harrison. Yeah, I'm not convinced this the eagles. They'll trey flowers. All right, we got one eagles, one minds. Yes, Eagles, linebackers. I'll know confidence in our line. Yeah, I'M gonna GO DETROIT fatures. I have no confidence on our backfield or linebackers. Can I push it? We we. We allow one drawl. I'm going to push it. Go and draw. I think I'm going to use my draw here because why I have for the secondary. I I'm going detroute for secondary. Yeah, Detroit, Detroit. Darius Leigh is better than anybody that we have in our secondary, absolutely, and he's not really going to have to cover anybody. No, not. Should have a hard day with Nelson. Good. Any need a lot of JJ and a lot of Mac, one of these young guys. Did we do receivers, because I think I might have mis receivers. We did. We went detreat. That I did. I go to trade on the receivers. Leave you. Did you want to change that? Now? I'm still going to trade as but sure, I wasn't positive which for direction. I went there and then to coach. I'd like to go a dog. Yeah, they you have to go. Doug, going, Doug, Jimbob cooter? Oh yeah, yeah, over map, Patricia. Yeah, that mature might bring hired this week. You think he might? What? Ye, I think he's got she's got a little bit of casher with it. Patriots, based off of what is this his third year now de treat it's just thirty years, scared year. Yeah, I don't know how. I don't say I get or I think this is. He was there for our super bowl. Last year was his first year. This is second year. He was the DP. He was the de Coordinator in our super bowl and maybe he's got a little more time.

But yeah, we hasn't really done anything as a head coach. That's been impressive. No, I agree, but I don't think they're going to give up on. You know, somebody out of a patriots system may have to two years. We have we have a five three advantage going to the birds and a push things. Yeah, we don't. We included the push but did in factor. It doesn't factory. So I who are some key matchups we're going to be looking after this game? And me, obviously it's it's both sides, receivers and secondary right. Yep, our receivers are going to have a really high hard time getting off and doing anything. Our our offensive line has to, you know, live up to the hype and and Protect Carson, give him time, let him make those reads and get rid of the ball, and the defense has to suck it up and, you know, maybe with a little help from their friends, get after Stafford. That's that's I see on both both of our lines and, like you said, receivers and the backs on both sides. You looked at this game before the season started. Easy ones and easy. This is a gimme, this is an easy walk and going into this short we can a green. Yes, this was a gimme win. That was over at halftime, yea, and we're sitting in the second half drinking cold beers and the hots on, you know, checking out to see very scores. Yeah, that to hoping. We bought the right tickets for the D S and, you know, enjoy the lounge area after the game. They it's not that anymore. It's taking a complete turn the opposite direction. This is now a game I feel I'm not going to say it's a must win yet it's still too early, but it's a game that they need to win and they can't continue this pattern that was established last year of coming out in the early parts of the game and laying eggs on offense and allowing the other team to score early. That pattern cannot continue. It's not a winding pattern. It doesn't spell good for the continuation of this the season because it, you know, it's started early with the lack of scoring last year and it continued all through the season and I see that same thing starting to happen now. And once you get into that, into that Rut, it's hard to get out of, especially when you're going to me to be missing your your big weapons for an extended period of time, which they are going to have, and then when they lean on this defense, yeah, they not. This is the year they're gonna be us is this is not a defense that you can lean on to get you through. You know, the lack of fire power on the offensive side to see. You know this is this, is you here? You just said the lack of out yes, yeah, it's because they're one week. Weapons are down from yeah, we are loaded weapons in the NFC. Yes, to their lack of yeah, because they're down. They they got to get back to running the ball. They got to roll the ball. You said this isn't a must win. It's not your can pretty goose. You can't go one too and then go to greenway week in the Green Bay, which I picked as a loss to start the season. Yeah, so, because then you're looking at one and three and they have this weekend. I don't know this weekend one, if we're playing, and then we have who do we have next week at after Green Bay? DENVER? Green Bay has Denver this week. Yeah, and who do we have coming back from Denver or coming back from Green Bay? That the jets. After Detroit we have Green Bay and then the jets. All right, so we're jets shome against Detroit, at Green Bay, home against the jets and then three road games. The jets regardless of WHO's shooting up for us, the jets, should be a win. Where you are, I say, where's your prediction then, for this weekend? This a score? I believe the eagles will win, despite all that angst. It's going to be a close game. It's not going to be a give me, it's not going to be over a half time. This game is going to go into the fourth quarter. Hopefully we have a touchdown lead and we're able to just, you know, ride that to the end of the game and come out with with that, because what...

...you say, it's a six and a half, six and a half, six and a half spread. So I I see as winning by by at least four and maybe maybe a full touchdown. But it's going to be NIPP and took. The lines might give us a game. You give me a score. What numbers, all right, one, Thousan, seventeen ten. It's an ugly game. I know it's an ugly game, all right. Are Scoring Twenty points a game. They're allowing about eighteen. So you're the eagles. Are The lines alions? Okay, it's hard to see us. Looking at the team the way it is with the injuries, I don't see a high scoring game. Just don't see how that's going to happen, but I do see them getting into the S. question is, will the secondary be able to keep up with the line? Secondary? Hoping they your your MVC, figures out a way to give Darby a little help. Yeah, I'd be nice. I saw they promoted some cornerback from the practice lack. Yeah, Guy They caught put on the practice squad and then they brought him back to the practice squad. Or what's that? I think I'm going to Cray Craig James All Jones. Forget I saw it earlier. Yeah, I did. He's just to get on the roster on the right. I'm gonna seventeen, seventeen. I think that DJ has seventeen, so he's got him covering. I'm covering. To you want to you want to give a score prediction there, Mr Library, Eagles Win Twenty, twenty, eight, hundred and seventeen. You got it comfortable. Really think Detroit's a good team to me, to be honest, and he even with the bad team, he should be able to go in there and lump them up. Sure. I mean I know we said against Washington and it was eight against five. I think Washington's a better team than Detroit. The trees has a better quarterback, probably a wash it running back slaying norman are probably a wash slight upgrade to Washington's tight end. Other than that they're pretty much the same team. MMM Right, yeah, I get they their offensive line is probably Detroit little better than Washington. Washington is probably got the better defense. Defense. I mean we're kind of screwed this week because of the receiver situation. Yeah, you mentioned it roll work about putting sprowls in the slot a little bit. I can see them doing that and, you know, helping out and that regard. But I think having a week of practice with Hollands and that's going to help. Jj will help a lot. Yeah, that's going to help a spires timing goes, but you know, I think you'll see a much different team this week than you did last week. I think they were shelf shocked, to be honest with yeah, by losing this to receiver. Yes, yeah, and after I thought about it for a couple days, like I was saying earlier, I think that's what happened. Doug was you know, he's a Christian man and you know he probably doesn't curse a whole lot, but I'm sure he was dropping a few F bombs in his mind as word got to him, with each new receive for that went down. I agree. Yeah, so, yeah, I you know, everything was thrown up in the air to first five minutes of the game and it took him a while. took him the halftime to recover. They recovered eventually, but they just weren't quite able to see what the deal all right, so let's just recap. Shit the bed someday night. Almost had it. Still Shit the bed. Eli will make it to the whole theme, but he's not a whole famer. We want Jalen Ramsey for a three, first round picks three. So week was well, slow down. Their skippy at a big go. One in a two. Wanted to to do a one in a four. I'll do at this point. I'll do it one in a tow and a player to be named later. I was cash. Was using cashing sideration.
