Red Hot Phillies | Eagles Training Camp

ABOUT THIS EPISODE

The Phillies are red HOT. Since Thompson took over they are 40 - 16 and 7 - 1 and this last stretch. This town is on fire and so is the Santa Booed First Crew. The guys discuss if the Phils are the hottest team and baseball with out the best player Bryce Harper. Holding on to the second wild card spot, it seems like we will be getting playoff baseball!

The crew had to go and stop and see what all the hype is on Eagles Training Camp and it did not disappoint. Jordan Davis is as massive as advertised and looks to be a monster. The Defense looks fast and offense looks explosive. Should be plenty of hot takes on training camp so far.

The guys welcome an old friend to the show to talk about the buzz in Philly sports and what to make of this Kevin Durant a Sixer. Can't wait to kick off the show.

We're gonna do so the fun. I guess that we've we made good friends with him and haven't seen him in a while, so it'll be fun to have him back on home with us and chopping it up. But first, as I said going into the INTRO, hot, hot, hot, films are hot, except for this afternoon. They dropped one. Um. Where were we going? Listen, I mean playoffs. I mean we're looking at twelve of their last fourteen, six out of seven on the homestand got a big three game series with the mets, but like they have now the sixth best record of Major League Baseball. You think about that and you think about all those and and not to two to any of our horns, but there was a couple of us at the table that were like, we need to give get rid of Gerardi sooner. If we get rid of Gerardi sooner, are we even closer in the division? Because there's something different about this team and I believe that it has to some something to do with the coaching. And there's somebody that came out today, which I found a really interesting article came out today and we're like Thompson was like...

...up with the Yankees, like, yeah, Girardi was the guy, but everybody went to Thompson. Like these players just feel a sense of like they just feel comfortable around Thompson. I mean they all produce. I don't think it's I don't think it's a coincidence. Is this team termed it around after a manager change. I've always talked about banging down a consistent lineup two. Yeah, they now have a consistent lineup two, the guys that came over in the trades. Yeah, I mean there syndergard hasn't looked good. The other two moves are looking all right. Marsh's, you know, you didn't expect him to hit, but we actually have a center fielder with some defense. A hit last night and then the dumb bass or but yeah, I mean, listen, they won the game. You Got Um Robertson he's got a save since he's been here. Like what you guys? I think I wrote it down. Actually, six innings or three, three games, three innings, one hit, four strike, gets in the save. I don't know if he did. He get in today? No, he didn't do that. I don't think he got sure. Yeah, no, one's not having a great start here, but you're your thought on Noah is that he's in the year two of the Tommy John Surgery and he's gonna not be right until next year. That is my thought and, honestly, like last night, if you can get this is what I always say, like with this line up, if you can get Noah synder guard again, let's all know, and I've said this too, you're not getting the New York met Synder Guard, at least not this year. But he gave his six innings lest like. Did he get into some trouble that he walks on like he has six innings, two earned runs. I mean like, if you get that every start with this offense, like you should be able to win the majority of your games. Plus, he was going to get a good picture. Lest Lady kept him in the game right. gave up two runs. They ended up winning the game. So do I think he's been great? Now? Do I think that he's serviceable? Yes, he's, but right now he's your fourth starter in a playoffs like right now it should be three. But I would think about signing him next year because of the second year of Tommy John Not not a massive contract like the twenty one million dollars the angels got, but I don't think anybody's can give him that. But like I would, I would probably take a shot on him for another year. I mean, I don't think he's terrible. I haven't. I have a mets fan I worked with. It came over to me this morning. I was in the office table. He was asking me and he's like, why did you take Sindegaard? Why did you guys want him? Like he don't you know he's washed, and I said that won't. He's coming off surgery. Give me a little bit. He's still young. And he's like, but you don't know how bad he was when he left the mets. All right, but you know I didn't follow him. You're right, I don't know how bad he wasn't he left the mets. But what's Hilarious to me I don't know if you get it, because you work with some. I see it all the time on the twitter. How big of the balls these mets fans have. Now they want to talk so much trash, like look, you're doing good this year, right, but this is your first year really being competitive, right, and and the only reason why you are is because you have an owner that deep pockets, that's spending a ton of money. But let's see come playoff time, let's see comes to let's see if the Graham's healthy. You know, let's see this closer. Ds has he's been electric. Yeah, but like he's never pitched in the playoffs. He's been in Seattle. Playoffs are totally different ball game. Playoffs are totally different ball game. You know, it is what it is. But I mean, listen for mets fans to say, why did you take a chance on Syndergard? Why not? Why not? You gave up. freaking Mickey Moniac, who I know you have too, got hurt again, lad, he's out for game. He's out. He's done you and and and and another low level prospect for for a guy that listen, you need pitching. Pitching does not grow on trees, right, like the bullpen game for Bullshit. Bailey falter sucked, Zach Eflin, you can't stay healthy. So, like, why not, syndergard? That's what I'd say to these dumbest mets fans, because, guess what, but they're an injury of that pitching rotation, of being. You know, whatever said. They're got it, we got we got it. We gotta find a way to take two out of three this weekend, and it's gonna be hard. Which Schwarber now hurt? But you gotta find a way. You have to find a way. Did they give anything more? Kil string playing tomorrow and like calf strings ten days. I mean I don't think he plays in metsers, and that's obviously huge loss. But in terms of like what you've seen, like or he might be now you can never mind what I said. You might be a D H W. He still stir on the basis. So, yeah, I mean he might be able to use him at hitting, like, you know, maybe like the situational stuff. But who, you know, who's made the biggest turn? Depends on his pain tolerance, how bad he is. Yeah, J T ro Muto. Yeah, J Ra Mutos now looks like the best catcher in baseball, which is like he looks like he's back. He's got home runs now. The other day I looked at him like, you know, if you get twenty and eighty from him, that's what you expect from him. That was his best year in Florida. J T has been really good. Um, I think we're here. We were saying the team needs to be. If they're all good at the right time, they're unstoppable.

I mean up casts just picked it off. COOSADS but like, I think come playoff time he'll be okay. Hoskins has been really good. I know he made a blunder in the field today, but he's been good. The the guy that's really been the best player in his team, and we've talked about is boom. He's so consistent, so consistent and defensively he's not getting credit for how much better he's been. I mean I saw some really nice plays last night, like from from a you know, from a defensive perspective. Boom's good. I mean CIGOR was really I like Marsha. I mean look like, as I said, we didn't expect them to have a high profile player at every position. He wasn't getting a bad play when I was there Tuesday night. It was a bounce off the wall, but he's still getting used. Probably today, if he had a bad play, would have been horrible played by but he would have just been out there spinning trying to find a bit and you gave away it, catchered it. I guess had a good year, but this is his only good year since he's and you don't yeah, and you don't need to catch right now, like you know. So, like, I have no problem with the phillies. Did they short up their bullpen? Their bullpen is really good. I don't I think. I wish they stuck with De d but I mean, nobody's picked him up. So what's that tell you? How does that work in the he's available, like I know familiar got picked up, but he's hanging around. When you can expand this, the roster's going in the pot. I don't think. I don't think there's any chance to bring him back. I would have liked him in the middle of the end field for a good defensive glove that he's been playing, but his plate appearances are horrible. Yeah, I was a little surprised by it, but yeah, I'm not like completely shocked, but I thought I'm kind of glad because, you know what, like it gives stop the confidence where he's not also not looking over your shoulder. He can just go out and play and he's played really good ball lately. Like you, gotta figure out what you have when person stop right, whether it's second base, shortstop. You know, we talked about free agency. I've been beating the table for Trade Turner. Like you, gotta find out it's stopped an answer and it can stop be a starter and if it's, and if you even the second base, you have an option on him. I don't think they're gonna. I mean if, if you, if you can't get a short stop in the short in the market. But I think Ken that's another reason why it's yeah, that was on the same he was just like a random pickup that they got in the trade. Yeah, he he that that's another thing. I don't know how you guys felt about, because I know I got home from work to see the end of it. But, like, I don't understand why you take the back. I get the whole lefty, righty bullshit, but carrot stops shown that in clutch situations he can do it. I think I would have stuck with Garret stops. I really do. Now that's like the first move that I've questioned to Thompson. So like, look, I'm not saying that it happens or anything, but like that, just such a base is loaded, no out and then three guys go down in a row and the picture that social swung at was an eight or nine bat and the layest ball was in the third. He was laying off it and he, you know, just changed the whole perspective. And I like the thing I'm saying about boom. I mean I know you guys say it's too close to swing. That guy was not calling that. And and then he brings them up. You figure based with Castianos and other people up, like there's your chance, but listen, it's baseball. I don't think we can complain today, Thirteen Games over five, hottest team in baseball, hottest team in baseball right now. They're I think they're right beyond the dodgers for best record since June. The braves. I think they're foody in nineteens in shoot first or something like that. Here's an interesting question to both of you. It's like do you are you ready to say, like regards. So what happens this year? Wild Card or not? Like Thompson, you get another year. I think. I mean like I I personally do, like I think right now, I would strip the interim tag like they did with McCann, and give a year extension. I mean, WHO's out there? Are there any names out there for managers and you're like, Oh, this guy, we gotta get him. He's available, like former players like this guy that he can handle. First of all, I don't know if you saw the other day, but like like asking to ask him a question about like you were worried about your job. He's like, Dude, I'm day by day like this. Media doesn't rattle him. I don't know if you guys watch it, like he's very bland, like in press conference, but I don't give a shit about that. I don't care. He's a baseball guy that obviously knows what hell he's doing and the players are playing really hard for him and he doesn't he's like they asked him, what do you think about your job? Father is like, I'm just right about this this year. He's like, if I start worrying about the future, that's why get myself. He's like yeah, that's when that's this is when the team collapses. If I start worrying about my job, I start worried about tomorrow. All Right, look, Peterson Harper, I saw I was reading like an article on him, his stat line before he got injured. It was crazy. Yeah, he was on an M v P pacing. Yeah, he had on food and Rbige, twenty one doubles and betting...

...three eight team and sixty four games. So he comes back. It sounds like he's D H for the rest of the year. I don't think he's gonna play the field, but yeah, you're saying once it looked like with him in the it's just that much more potent. I guess right. This is weird that when he leaves the teams get better. M Hmm, right, because he left Washington and they won one, all right, and then he's out of the lineup and now they went on this historic run that nobody's you know, nobody's seen. You know, and in years. You know when they went forty and said when he went forty and sixteen or forty and nineteen, ridiculous seven and one. And then in the last eight games, I know, in the last twelve games, are like they're eleven or ten and one, like nate said, they just dropped the like there's lowest, only two in the last thirteen or something. That's not ulous. How many games do the do the medicine braves have against each other? We were looking at our I know they have. They I think they have three games series against as. This week in New York they have a four game series. No, no, I'm talking I think the phillies. Seven left with the mets but didn't play this week. I think the phillies still have. We have twelve with the brake against. Think we have that many less. We were looking at that really. Yeah, I was surprised to play the braves. Pretty well, I was surprised. I thought there was less. I think the mets are seven or eight left. Yeah, I didn't think between six and are you sure? Twelve with the braves. Yeah, I could have sworn Melia have one series left with them. That's what I thought. Too many. I was with you then. I like they have like the easiest record, like they do, because then the rest of the Games are serious. They have coming up after the mets is the reds pirates and gun I think, and in diamondbacks. Yeah, the diamondbacks swept US last time in Arizona. It's in our remember last time they came here and swept us. That was like that was when we were all being able to say fired, Gerard ass that is I do remember that. Yeah, I'm not. I'm not saying that matter. I think, because I just did standards, I think thirty five. There's all honored against teams on the fire. So they then then they can't have twelve gifts the braves left. Dude, they got seven left against the mets. I'm telling you. We looked at the car. Looked at it in the car. They got a bunk because the other teams are the nationals, the pirates, couple with the rate, with the reds marlins. In September. They have two series against the braves. Uh. And there's a couple, I think, both the braves and the mets, or four games series. It's the first ones in Atlanta then the second ones here. They're both three games. Just gotta split. Well, if they go five hundred, the rest of their games four games. Yeah, they have it's here and it's here and then one of those games. Are they a weekend? If they are we should go. Is that Friday night braves? If we are, we should freaking go. What is that? I was talking about the mets series. I'll go to that too. That's next week. That's that. Next week is the home one. Tomorrow they play. We can go next Friday. I'm town next Friday. Why not? Playoff baseball is good. I've been. It's fun to be in a stadium. I won't be here. Yeah, it's the it's the nationals. Like, have you ever been to a playoff? Yeah, I was just gonna ask you. Have you been to a playoff game for every sport? I think, Oh, no, I have been in which one? Which one is the your favorite? Who? Yeah, I won't be here, Dude. Next Eagles all day. Eagles, like eagles, Eagles all day. But you know, what comes strong too exciting, because hockey was okay, doublehead of the mets Saturday. It's a make up from a six, but it was fun because I think it was like a six five game too, so it was a lot of game. Was it like late nineties? It was, it was, it was. It wasn't too long ago, maybe like five years ago. What's he talking about? The flyers, I asked what have you been? Have you been to a playoff game for every sport? No, I haven't been a single playoff game. None. None of the sports. No, yeah, Blucky, your Dad's not here. We'd be ripping into him every sport. Sounds like. Yeah, I've been right speaking the devil. Say His name and he shall up here into the party. was that the Sixers, I know, when Iverson and passed, and recently in the playoffs, the eagles. I was at the game where vic remember they lost to the packers in the wild card. Um, Phillies, I was at freaking the world series. So in no way so which, which game they wanted? I went to games three and five. I went through the division series. I didn't make the division series. And Yeah, and the wild card series right there. No, yeah, the Milwaukee series. H Yeah. The last time has been the playoffs, the CC Sabathi game where Victoria had the Grand Slam off Sabathew. What was the game? There was a game too that was played. It was with the Joe Blant home run game where he was at that. That was an eagle score of world series. It was an eagles game the same day and we...

...could hear it. I think because done that. Have you going to both games? I want know. So there was a sixers game and a Flyer's game the same day. There was brody and I went to a sixers game earlier the season where there's a phillies game and then a flyers gave him. We talked about doing it but we didn't do it. It was all I think it was all three that that would have been a phillies, flyers and sexers. Yeah, it was sixers. It was a Saturday the sixers or the afternoon and then the fly and then the phillies and then the flyers. We were playing that night and were like we just left the phillies Gamer only went to the flyers. Are tairogators? You Guys Tailgate for football? Yeah, for other Games. Yeah, I will retail the phillies last year. I mean, I mean, but you do the whole set up, like food, everything. Are you just usually like bring something down hoges, but it would be cool to barbecue and hang out, you know. For the only reason why I say that because you can at the phillies like the three games. Or that's expensive, right. Yeah, it's a lot of beer, it's a lot of food for sure, you know what I mean. It's not about easy. Maybe a hundred, a hundred for the holiday. Yeah, for two people. Oh yeah, that's another reason why I was like, yeah, I don't know if you jump around like this for the the super bowl run too, right. Yeah, yeah, that only it was the vikings game more? Was it more electric than the Falcons game? Were you there at that one too? Yeah, so, which was more? I think I'd agree with the Vikings game, because you didn't. I think the city we felt better after beating Atlanta. But yeah, it's like we're still not supposed to be here. You know, we still had the whole dog mentality and we felt okay about it. But I don't think anybody walked in there thinking we're gonna crush and the way the game started was like yeah, they went right down the field. But did you leave the stadium that night and, and be honest, that Mat did you leave that stadium that night being like Oh, ship, we got New England, like it's it's gonna be a repeat to you know, Jack, were you worried that? Like, I mean we were just I think we're still riding the hive from the way. Can anybody sit here and be like Yo, like that week before the Super Bowl. I mean, yeah, it was great, like hearing uh, what was it brand Kyle Brandt with his ran about like, you know, Grease and the Poles and picking the eagles. But like, in in essence, how many of you guys, I guess what I'm asking is how many of you guys were supremely confident on Sunday Super Bowl fifty two that folds was going to get it done? How confident were you? How confident was anybody? Nate? Were you confident they were beating Brady? Uh No, but I'll tell you this. It was my biggest bet I've ever put in. That's what's up. That bat had comments in it. Nice. How many? I'll just watch. Just one commented. But it was the biggest bet I've ever put and and I was talking to my friend because he rode the same bet I did, and I was like, you know what, I don't know when they're ever going to be here and I'm going to go down with the ship if they lose. Our mortgage isn't getting paid, my wife's going to be mad and it's all good and she's she's watching that. You say, wait a minute, I feel like this is bigger than the return of Bryce Harper, getting return of de Yeah, getting deep back. We said you're gonna come blasting in here like cramer, and you kind of did. Here's a question for you. We were talking about Eagles player coming from work. We went out with a couple of people after work. What atmosphere was more like? Say something, I think. What's that? What atmosphere was more electric? The the Falcons NFC championship where they beat Vic and like tea, or the eagles against the vikings like which, wow, I'd have to say the Vikings. That's what he said to okay, okay, yeah, I think the Vikings too, because even the players said like, they said anybody could have got it that night. They didn't matter who was in the stadium. I've prodcast. He's like that. He was like it was the most electric night he's ever been part part of, bar far the super bowls, any of them is. It didn't matter who was showing up. Everybody got it. And just the plays too. Some of those plays were just so exciting, like it wasn't just all right, it's a first and ten from the ten, they run it in. It's like the interception, and it's just like the plays that made that game were just I in the beginning, when the when the Vikings Welcome, Oh, thank you, when the Vikings went straight down the field and scored, I was a little nervous. I didn't like what I saw. I didn't like what I saw from yeah, right, and then, and then, and then the offense didn't do anything on their first possession, and then we got that pick, and that pick was on the opposite side of the field from where we sit and he came straight at us, across the field where we sit, and the place just went absolutely bonkers. That changed everything. The...

Eagle, with the vices, or with the Falcons. The Eagles, if I remember correctly, they were kind of in control the whole game. Right. It was the big hit from Dawkins on Al j Crumpler, uh, that that electrified the place, um, but you didn't have that, that that like oh moment early on, like we did with the Vikings. The Falcons was kind of in control almost from start to finish, if I remember correctly, and you know, it was fun because there was snow, it was really cold, Um. But the Vikings, man, once they started scoring and just clamped down on defense and just snuff them out. It was just it was a party. It was a party with seventy thousand people and I loved every second of its. The Panthers Games were kind of like they were. They were brutal. I remember the packers game, the fourth and twenty six game. That was an exciting game. I vividly remember grabbing the guy in front of me and headbutting him, staring that game um like, you know, a friendly head butt, like I can't believe we're doing it's head button each other. Yeah, I think I saw that side of you when we were at the Halloween party. I think you were like, do I do that something? Yeah, I get a little excited. Yeah, you were. You were getting like yeah, I think you we had some nice words for because I didn't take a shot with you. Oh, did I? Yeah, at that side comes out sometimes too. Yeah, I said the most electric game I was that was definitely game five in the world series. Yeah, both parts, but definitely I wish I could have been there. Did we win that game? Yeah, was that the clincher? That was the most electrifying game I him, at least for baseball. Did you go home? We actually went to many on, which is where I was, and just got hammered. Remember. Yeah, I remember at the week up the next day for school, rough, Damn. went out at like three in the morning, dude, for I went up the former mills, I remember, to get a t shirt to wear the school. Yeah, that was rough. That was rough, but worth it. Super Bowl to like that night was. I mean I'm sure you guys were saying why I got work the next day when right I was riding up and down the block. I had a bottle. I was dancing in the street with my nephews. Yeah, after the pillage won the world series, I went down to the UM corner with a bottle of champagne and I saw, I think I saw Frat's kid down there. He didn't have a champagne, I didn't have a bottle and I saw some other people down there. You weren't old enough yet. You were only like three. Yeah, another question. Once ever been to a playoff game and I said no, no, you have it, and I had. I had DJ with me. Went to the corner with DJ, had a bottle of champagne. Hung out on the corner for about maybe an hour. Watches going nuts yeah, just hanging out. It was about it was about a dozen people in the corner and then after the Eagles won the Super Bowl, it was I had a bottle champagne. DJ, would you walk around with us? Did? Okay, it was my birthday. Oh, that's right, it was your birthday, your thirteenth birthday. That's right, that day. That was freaking yeah, better. NOPE, there was about five or six of us. It was it was. I was the only quote unquote, adult there. He was DJ and a couple of his friends, Andrew, and we just walked around the neighborhood. We went down to the seven eleven. There was a bunch of people at the seven eleven hanging out. Um, and just walked around the neighborhood and and enjoyed every second. Yeah, we need that moment again, I mean championship moments. Ain't you going home from where we were down? Where were we were? Your wife made you go him. Yeah, well, that's not good to say on the air. We were down. We were down in the city. Where where was that down on? Oh, you did tell us and say you were like really hammered and or not, because I drove home. I wasn't that drunk, but we saw this swarm of crowds going down broad street and me and the fellas looked like I had pictures. We had pictures on broad street where we were having pictures and screaming and yelling and stuff. But we wanted to go to the crowd because they were all going to city hall. They're gonna. It was not all going. And she's like, I'm not going in that crowd. She's like, she's like, I can't do that crowd. I don't cant to that crowd. I was so mad and it ruined it for the other people with me because there were people in the ride, women, so like they wanted to go to I mean, they probably could have the ride. One thing that's been bothering me this week. I don't know if you guys like and and it's been multiple people, but like I'm not ready to be like Oh, these phillies teams, like o wait way too early for that m this team's got it. I agree, but like I'm not ready to first of all, you know they got a tough series coming up. They got in the next...

...week. They got seven games. He gets the mets. That can make or break you. You go one in six, you go doing five. Like. I'm not saying they will, but like I need how many times do we see this team, like you know, in contention and collapse? I'm not saying it's gonna Happen, I'm just not ready to say oh eight, because Oh eight had like first of all, you were completely healthy. You know, eight, number one. Everybody's having a career year and you're pitching rotation was awesome. This pitching rotation is okay, nothing like you know. So, like, I mean, you look at any position. Where are they better on this team, except for Harper and right field with worth. Where are they better? Like, let's go, is Howard better than yes, yes, or maybe okay? Well, Utley's better than score, rollins is better than Stot, Padre, fleees and boom. I feel like it's a toss up. Right Brad Marsh is definitely or marsh is definitely not better than victory. No, right field, barrow shore, it's kind of a toss up based they had like Barl is probably a slightly better outfielder, but maybe a better hitter. Yeah, but like you know, and Ray Mutto, I'll give you that. Yeah. So, I mean, I just I'm just like nobody in the pitching staff. I'll put I'll put wheeler in over hamils. So that year hamiles pretty big. Yeah, that was it was the rotation. Hamils, Hamils, Myers, Moyer, doc, clanton, Blanton. And what was the fifth? was out of eating that year. I wasn't. He wasn't on the playoffs. No, I know he wasn't. No, dude, he said. No, doc wasn't on. That's what Jimmy said. Were the aces. It was. It was. It wasn't as it was wont with Kyle Kendrick. Kyle Kendrick, but he was in the yeah, he was really in mid relief. He wasn't in the road. He was a law man that year, because they did they go for but I'm just saying. I'm not ready to compare. What I'm just saying is like who was doing number one picture, because that was he there. Number one, though, in the rotation. Yes, yes, so I just I just broke up their pictures and I'm not going to go to them all, but the ones that stick out that I remember Hamils, Myers, Myers, and then I want to say third was Moyer. It was moyer because I was at the world series and then Kendrick, and then Kendrick didn't. Kendrick didn't start a world series game, is bye. But what I'm just saying is I'm not ready. I'm not there yet. I do the Philly like, because here's the thing. At the end of the day, not that like pistol on the parade or hole is like. Let's just remember within these series, the only team that they really beat that was good is it landed. They took two out of three, which is great. However, you beat the Marlins, okay, great, you beat the pirates. I hope you're going to beat the pirates like what. They haven't one a great series. All start break. But sound like the mets fit this morning he was talking, but you play the schedule that's in front of you. I agree with that, but I'm just saying, based on what I've seen, the run has got them back in it. I'm just not ready to like this team. Is the world series. I do think in baseball that's the that's the sport the most anymore, in my opinion. Maybe other knock where you get in and you you know, you get hot, you can win, but a lot of things have to fall away for the phillies to like. Harper's got to come back and be healthy. Costianos has to get going, has gotta stay so like. Let's just all I'm saying is, let's pump the brakes. I'm not ready to talk about world. You've got to remember the teams. I gotta get through once they get to the playoffs. Right, the dodgers, padres, I'm not worried. Really Cool. They got some competition. But but the phillies have played the bridge really well. They have. And the mets is the big one these next seven. Yes, yes, they're there. there. Kryptonite right now is the mets. They haven't done well all season against the mets. Got sures reversus Suarez. Tomorrow, Noah, versus the gram and the third game, I think it's I forget. No, no wheeler right now. No wheel Sunday. Yeah, wheelers going Sunday. So we'll say, all right, let's let's keep them hot. Let's stay hot. Yeah, they take two out of three from the mets this weekend, I think you have to be a static. Oh hell yeah, especially if they take one against the gram or. I mean sure, there's the first pick. You've gotta attack him early. You've seen what teams do. He he's gonna, he's going he's gonna Throw faceballs. He's been a monster this year. He has been a monster. But I I still believe in the mets collapse and somehow. Yeah, totally, yeah, I agree. They're not going far. Alright, I think it's a good time for break. Deeps here trying to swallow...

...cheese steaks from Bowli Um, and we got a special guest that's waiting to chat with us. Um. So we're gonna take a quick break. For those of you that have been with us for a while, this is a guy we met long ago and has been a friend of the show probably for the five years we've been doing this right. Um, our buddy, chef Tim Lopez. He was a chef for the eagles. Uh, he has now moved on to be Um, to two bigger and better things. In my mind, he's a teacher now. Teaching, yeah, I mean doing things for the youth. Goes from cooking with for millionaires to teaching the youths and getting them ready and prepared for the world. Um. So, yeah, as soon as Tim comes on here, we're gonna test out this new sauce that he has. So we have to up right here, Tim, we got you. Are He is today? Oh good, we missed that face. There he is, our our buddy. All right, go ahead, do what you got it. We just started to give you a little intro. There, we got you. Mm Hmm, there he is. There he is, got us now. Mm Hmm, all, we'll yell. Let me do the talk, and I got a big fat mouth pretty good. Yeah, we got you. We got you nicely clear, tim Um. So we just started, just started to do a little intro for you. So why don't we get the open them and Wings Up there, deek, we got you. You're good. You're hearing us now. I lost my mic now he dropped. Did you drop out of here? We lost him. All Right, let me get away. Maybe he's gonna jump back on, hopefully. Let's let's give these wings out here. So Chef Tim is now teaching down at Mash bomb in UH Kensington area. Keep teaching the cullinary arts. We back drum right, you got us now, I can hear us. There we go, there we go. I was just starting to do a little lear in show for you, dude. We missed your face, Tim, it's good to see you. Uh. Got The guys around the table here. I don't know if you've met schmitty before. He's a new, new member of the team, Smitty, and and to his left we got the young Martin. I think you've met Andrew at some point in in our and our hey, hey, there we go. Yeah, you know, somebody's gotta be a professional, Tim, somebody's gotta keep the thing on it. I'M gonna try...

...to do that too, is as we try these wings Um. But I was just starting to get to give the intro. Like I said, we met you probably five years ago when we started doing this chef for the eagles. You were feeding millionaires and now you've gone on to what I said are bigger and better things, teaching the youth and and getting some culinary skills, and these kids go out into the woral world and and have jobs and and talk to us about this. I know you and I caught up a little bit when we caught the sauce. Let me catch up with you first and then we'll talk about the sauce. But, UM, how's it been that transition from, you know, like I said, cooking and make it sandwiches, to Carson Wentz to now teaching kids knife skills and how to make a Oh, there we go taking shots. Smithie likes that. He's not a wins Fade Washington. I saw. Yeah, he got got booed off the field. Did he really? Yes, they said he's having an awful training camp. So let me ask you this real quick, as you're on this topic, like, because I I dealt with them and I've tried to tell these these guys before, because you know, I've worked in Sports Memorabili and I still do it a little bit when I have time. But I tried to tell them that, like Carson Wentz, is basically a phony. The Guy did he claims himself to the public is not who he is. Was He? What did you find about him? You know, also that awesome drive to the bowl and he made a career killing decisions that after he was h did he literally it all? Personally? Yeah, I think you're right there. I know that. But, Um, I like these a lot of the experiences I had working with the birds of fourteen years. There's something my other jobs I had before that helped instate, you know, my students were off the commerce and when involved me in the screen in various uh schools and things like that. So it's been interesting, uh, trying to motivate the can't say had a lot of cop time coming back from the univals in the ring for year, Um, you know, and us to think you've been okay. Well, all my seniors passed her staying SAMs being they were funny. It's funny in its a lot of a lot of time. So I'm getting used to be the future ethics of Pop classes for my service games. But it's attle or no. Everything I sent me was just a lot of the grounds and by the resident city and it's time to go on and kind of just game out. O. That's awesome, Tim as I also worked for the school district of Philadelphia as an assistant principal. So what you're doing with these kids is amazing. We need more people that are really like invested, and I can tell that you know you want to see your students be successful and that's that's important. So definitely Kudos to you, man. I appreciate you know everything you do. Okay, I'm in the Northeast, South Cohen. It's Kate to five school before that. Before that I was at stern and Frankfurt. So made a little bit of yeah, yeah, no problem. Yeah, absolutely. And you're you're down there at mass bomb right, I think I put the school out there once. Let's get out there again. Yeah, you're where and far from where it was? Yep, HM HM, M M hm, m HM, cool, I care.

No, my my brother in law was a baseball player from mass mom Ray Blum. You ever see his name around? M Hm, M Hm, who? Who? Who Was it? MM HMM. Okay, we got we got plenty of questions, but these these guys, these guys are chomping at the bits. I want to we want to try the sauce first. We got a fan blowing on us. We all got a wing. Now. I grabbed the flat because the flats where it's at and the drums are for the dumb. So we're gonna sauce you. I'll take it. Take it to my grave, Tim, refresh my memory. Drums are flats. See The guy. You know you can pull the two bones. If you tried that yet. I've seen that method. I haven't done it yet. I'm gonna try that. Let's see you try. We're gonna try. We're gonna try the sauce first. So let's so, Tim's this was last year's class, right, one of them is open here, this one one. Okay, let's let's get this story. So that and and we'll try not to step away from the MIC and not chewing the mic there. Try to sell us you don't know. Let's try it. H M HMM. Yeah, I'm I'm hoping that happens here. I'm waiting for the show to fall apart, because these guys eat them and then their noses start running and their eyes start bleeding and they can't, they can't continue the show. Yeah, I know. Then you start happen. Yeah, are we supposed to taste? Wait, the hot takes. Asked you to make one for his show. Okay, okay, I's gonna say that's okay. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I saw that you had the super you had the superintendent in Right. Nice, Nice, Oh, yeah, M Hmmm, HM, it's real good. Oh, that's I'm not gonna and you did it.

Uh Huh, that couldn't have been pretty. Yeah, I'm gonna, I'M gonna play. I'm MHM, I'll have dude, you are pounding that hot sunce over there. It's good tim it's really good. Dude, is good. Ah, I was. I was expecting a little more heat, just you know, you hear how B narrow. But I think, like you said, you cut it with the mango. Yeah, it's good, man, that mango first. It gives you a nice little sweetness to it. You want more? Give me wins. I think I'll listen to him. Yeah, it did have a little thing. You can't kill it. Good thing you avoided that. Give me the list. M All right, m HM H. Are you still making it? Are you still selling it? Dude, I need to get a bottle. M Oh, who, that's gonna be serious business. Let us know. Oh, WHOA, whoa. You said the magic word. You you start doing that scrapple to him. You know, it's the King of all breakfast meets. I'm all about the scrapple, all about the scrapple. Is Good. That's that's one of the few things Jim and I agree on. Yeah, yeah, you've made as many delicious dishes and we missed your face and we will. We'll figure out how to get you back here in studio. Um, we know you. You, you teachers get the Nice Summers and you know, you get to go down to the shore points and everything. So we don't want to bring you up, bring you up here to will of Grove and away from the beach just for a couple of hours, but we'll get we'll definitely get you in here. M M M. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I wanted to ask you about that as like other teachers. I'm not saying it was easier on other teachers, right, but if you have a lesson plan, you have notes, you're teaching to a program but as a cooking teacher that's pretty I would assume you need to be pretty hands on. So how tough was that for you during covid doing that? Mm Hm, that, and it's your first experience, right. M Hm. H Yeah, you have no idea? YEA, yeah, H H. Yeah, I guess I didn't think of that. MHM. What was the instagram handle again? M Hm, M Hmm. Yeah, yeah, chef. What's the INSTAGRAM hand?...

Or done it? Is it at the add sign or the just not the worst? Got It. I started following. H M hm. Have you? Have you participated in any of their like you said, you did the show right. You brought in the administrators and stuff. Any any other opportunities? Do media stuff with the school m and send help the band to be other branch ran that. I have noticed that you have spy songs. So kids want to ye basis dinner. Why don't want love to Chad to buy that sneaks moms. My specials makes you a nice pretty they always pretty nats. So we're finding different makes fight. That's a big money ass to as watsous people class. All those of my Mon, all those went back into what you watch. All that's awesome. Right back to Kiss Mine Party Day. Um, kids and kids a bid to m H. Yes, M do you have any interesting meals or entrees that you've cooked with the kids, dishes that Um, you know, outside of the normal school fair like you get any high end type dishes or any interesting methods, like you doing Surveian and and things like that. Oh yet so I love how you so yes, the Pon me. A lot of hyrn stuff coming up. My idea purchase a out the sands. Say It's a company name and nasty, and this one also has leas, overnight speak, inserted Christ and you say you want to do because I wanted to want to know. I want to holding back next day to put out the slice of munchings. I've gone with its therefore get part and chicken. So it wasn't so much of my hand. It's just a great wa m HM, Green, see me, that's creat H M hm, M hm, Hey, Tim Uh. Is this...

...a new program that started at mass bomb, or is this something that you've picked up that somebody else either retired or left to school for one reason or another? MHMM, okay, oh, okay, M H M hmm. Right, yeah, sure, yeah, you're you picked up the I can see of cooking at mask bomb. Good, ha ha, ha ha the yeah, not that I don't trust you. What's what's the UH? What's the skill level of somebody kids that you've had I'm sure that it's all over to all over the chart of cooking skills, but the majority of the kids, ha, ha, I. MM hmmm. Yeah, yeah, mm hmmm, mm HMM. Yeah, I'm I'm sure you know, kids in high school they don't really know for the most part what they want to do with their life. Um, you know, even into early adulthood. But you give him a taste of this culinary program and cooking and what goes into it and and the the art that it is and and the love and the passion that you have for it, I'm sure you're going to inspire more than one kid that wants to go on and make it a profession for themselves. You know, I have no doubt in my mind that that's going to happen with somebody, these kids that that you're teaching. Yeah, sure, I. Yes, I I have a feeling that's a big part of it. Um, you know in the neighborhoods that that that are that are going to mass mom, I'm sure that plays into it. That's a factor. Yeah, that they have to do that. Yeah, m just here kids to...

Parsis HM HM MS, culture, basketball, plas school and her own individuals and grandmother's studies church. Nothing way. You might be able to do that. Just Shad teach the glass. So that's that. Some see gets US kids podcasts to which she's really time time. MM HMM. Yeah, that's very great. Let's make it happen. CHEF. Yeah, I'll come up and help you, help you guys out, no charge. Yes, that's the millennial question to hit me on. I G millennial answer. Hit me on. I G got your peeper, you got your pager. If you need any experts in tasting the food, I could probably find some people. I was gonna say podcast experts, but we were still trying to figure that part out ourselves. Nate, nate, engineer Extortin Air, can help out, but well season but maybe overseasoned. That's why I'm trying to bring into freshness on the on the side, over here in the in the youth, in the youth. Yeah, Tim, I meant to uh reply to your comment about the Martins stuffing their faces over. You know, it's uh different studios who came into I would have to say that's the biggest compliment as chef could get is to have stuffing their face and not saying a word with the food you just cooked. Yes, I remember that. Well, Uh Huh, Tim, it hasn't changed. My shoulders have gotten rougher and bigger and broader because I'm still carrying the still carrying this thing. Hell to the know. Hell to the know. Well, well, definitely, we definitely got to do the chef roundtable again. That was fun. Actually, nate, nate and I were talking before we came on the air how we're. You know, we both a little, not disappointed, regretful that we didn't follow our true calling and being chefs and cooks and doing that. Instead we're working in, I won't speak for you and nate, but working in the corporate world, which is ever so exciting, Um, but, you know, not following my true dream of being in the kitchen all the time. Um, so I'm a little jealous. Like I said, I always kind of Geek out when we have you guys on him. We had the other chefs in there, just other folks from kitchens come in and feed us. It's always great, but just talk food. I really enjoy that. So these these guys go to a coma after they eat all the food that you bring into. Somebody's got to talk. H You won't hear US disagree on that. Definitely. Well, we'll make it, we'll make it easier. We'll do it on a Saturday, we'll get you in here, we'll get some of our other chef friends in here and try to do the we do have a round table. Back in those days it wasn't around, it was square, but we still called it a round table. Uh M HMM. Yeah, yeah, I mean, where there's a will, there's a way. You just get a bigger shoehorn. All right, Tim let's give it plug one more time. For the sauces, in case anybody wants to reach out. We did put it up here on our feet here, but go ahead, let us let us know where we can get them. M H M,...

M. Awesome, awesome, thanks to mum. Thank your students. The sauce is great. He's got a couple of bottles. I got a couple of bottles. We'll see what's left after we leave tonight. There's no more wing to put it on, but uh, there's there. There's exactly. Oh, I definitely using this for breakfast, no doubt about it, when I make myself a nice omelet with all kinds of stuff in there. Yeah, it's definitely going on top of that, armelet. All right, yeah, Tim, good, see, yeah, we miss you. We'll definitely uh well, we'll try to figure out this chef round table get you in here in person. Yep, Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, all right, Tim, take care and do the rest of your summer. Thanks, Buddy. So, yeah, all right, mm HMM, good wings. See there's two flats left. There are three. All right, ally, did did nate want to have one? Or do you want one? Nate? Yeah, okay, I had the sauce to the sauce is actually really good. He was right, and the heat doesn't come until afterwards. He's just getting for sauce and then there's a little heat that comes in and I think he's like it's it's a mild sauce for sure. Yeah, yeah, it's definitely not a five alarmer. It was good. It was good, though. It's got a lot of flavors, for sure. I think it would be good really put it on wings on the brow. Yeah, I'M gonna try to finish the show without eating. I mean, if you want to eat them now, you can't, but I just will touch on training. Can't real quick. I know we're running out of time here. Um, Eagles training came, we got our first preseason game tomorrow. What are we looking for? We're actually gonna see some starters, it sounds like, for a couple of series, two, three. It sounded like this morning a tour or three now, but that was the other day. He said a few series. He just said starters for a few seoners. I don't know too. It's what I heard this wording on the showroo. I've never stopped working, Bro Yeah, yeah, you do. It was in the office today, man. Well, yeah, it's brutal. It's brutal. Um. So, yeah, what what are we looking for? PRESEASON game? No injuries, right, just get that out. No injuries. The number one given is no injuries. Number two, I just want to see guys shaking off the rust, you know, a couple of couple of Nice plays here and there. I want to see jail in, if he plays, I want to see him getting the ball out quick Um, you know, uh, going through his reads. I don't want him running the ball at all. I want him handing the ball off to the running backs. I want to sit at defense, be aggressive. I want to see, you know, I don't think we're going to see a lot of uh, exotic things out there on either side of the ball. I just want to see the defense be aggressive making plays and I want to see the offense, you know, do well, you know, move the ball, maybe score touchdown. It's about it. You'RE gonna see him run the ball. Yeah, and I didn't tell you that, but I don't want to see that. I want to see him throwing the ball um down to trading camp the other day he didn't run the ball. It looked like they were designed runs um and he he was. He was throwing a ball heat. Now, if you look like day to day, somebody actually charted hurts and what his what his practices looked like, and he was like up, down, even, up, down, even, Um, and the last few it was either up or even. So he hasn't really had any down days. The day we were there he looked good. It was hot to sell Um. He had some really nice placement. There was a couple of balls he tried to squeeze in the tight coverage Um, but he had the play. The day to me was a nice like over Brown's shoulder, Brown turn right in the belly bucket back in the corner of the end zone, touchdown over bradberry. Great play, Great Pass, perfect touch Um. I think I put it out here on our socials. You know he had a nice gash up the medal to Dick Rod. He had a nice over the middle, really running and grabbed it. Um Miles was running hard, even though...

...it's you know, they're not really allowed to hit and Dick Rod coming. Wait, I see you guys smiling. I'm just waiting for it to come out. Don't the middle? Oh yeah, up the middle. He's running the hardy, gashing up the middle real hard that he hit that crease. It was a juicy catch. He was nice. All right. Well, I'll tell you what I'm looking for to Mare, because I think we're not going to see a lot of starters. I'm looking and we were talking about him today in our chat, but that kid from Utah, I think he's gonna make the team. I want to see what he does. Kobe Britain, Kovie, I think, and I'm looking at seeing the Kobe Deane. I want to see what he what he does as a rookie. And here's the one thing. I don't have much confidence in the safety so I need to see the safety play. I want to see what these second, you know, third team guys like. Have we seen progress out of the guy from ship? What's his name? Clemson? Yeah, told they could be the next Dawkins, which they said right. So, like that worries me about safety. I gotta be honest. I heard that they got they brought the kid in from he said he hasn't looked good. I was just reading the article today. He doesn't looked good at a slow is your number on safety. That's concerning. It's concerning if Brad Berry and don't play, it's still concerning the phillies. You can't have a start? No, but I think you can. I think it's it's out there, but I want one. I think it's out there that you could trade for the guy from the bengals and you have the and you got the money. My only my thing about this team that I'm looking at is just that there's not a lot of hopes. Like I'm like, yeah, there is. Yeah, you know what I mean. So I think so. I think they're good enough to cover up some of those maybe weaker players per se. But if you look at this team on paper, like there's really not a lot of weaknesses. We got question marks, but like when you say like a guy's like weak, like, as much as I don't like he's, he's grown me much as hard has grown on me. He's not a weakness of the team, he's just a question mark. Yeah Right. You know, even APPs is that he's a weakness as much because, I mean, he's usually in the right place at the right time. He might be a little bit late, but he's usually in the area. He's not like Nate Gary, completely turned around. You know when a when a play is coming in. So, Um, I think they need to see what they have before they pull the trigger on bringing somebody in like they don't know what they have back there at safe. Well, they're pretty deep that. They were saying, like whoever gets cut, it's probably gonna get picked up. You know from other teams there's there's, they're they're deep and they're not gonna be able to keep all these cops a lot of the positions. I meant to bring it. I did print out their unofficial depth chart. I forgot to bring it with me, but yeah, you look at almost every position. If a player were to get cut, they be picked up from now there's some fourth and fifth string guys that, yeah, they're not. Yeah, but like even look at like. I mean I don't know who's WHO's like there's defensive tackles aren't to make it. Like bridgeway. He probably won't make it, but he's been successful here. You know he'll get picked up. Some of those corners are going to get picked up where we were all young. We're talking about the receivers. Tad will get picked up from somebody and due REGOR Reagor made a statement he wants to retire. He wants to be here his whole career. Yeah, that may not happen. He looked good in camp. It's camp. But listen, if he gets cut, he's getting picked up from somebody. I don't think. I don't see them to try to trade. I don't think. I don't think they're gonna cut regor. There's too much of a capit. They might. They might try to trade him. They're not, but they they might. What is he making this year? The first? Last year? No, it's not the last years. This is the third year in the League. That's it. This this is the make or break year for him. I think this is the make or break year. For him and miles sanders, if much as I like Sanders, and I think sanders has been more productive than I agree, but make or break their futures. Yeah, yeah, but if, if, if regor doesn't do anything or start, if he's not very productive, he's gone this year. But there's no two ways. How he is he is he because they haven't caught Arthega whiteside. For that reason he was a sick around bick. I hate that. John hottower still, he's a great run blocker and he's open. He's getting caught. He's gotta go. Yeah, I don't care. He wants to move the tight end. He's heard that rookie tight end has been good. What's his name? Cal Ar? Yeah, I mean Dick Ross. Probably Not gonna make the team either. You don't get picked up, but again, like we do. But he ain't making it. Dick Rod's got a stiff position on his team. It's gonna be hard to knock him down. It's gonna be hard to deflate Jimmy. I saw what he did. What did Um? I share that. I mean the look you look at the receivers. If you're name in the starting three right now, and this is this is the three. Well, Davante was in drills. He wasn't in the team drills. Um Brown, Quiz and devante. They look like the three right now. Yeah, right, I don't know.

I mean rigor could steal the three from backets. Maybe Wat speed on there does the same thing that Brown does. He's just smaller and doesn't have his good being the third option slock eye like he now that that's great. If he's the fourth wide receiver, he's a number one pick. You don't want your number one pick or number one, your first round pick, to be your fourth receiver. But if he is, that means you've got two guys in Brown and Davante. Corps is really good. Yeah, yeah, and I share the concern about safety. Uh, but if the guys in front of them make plays, I don't think we're gonna have to worry about safety. And there's there. There are plenty, plenty of playmakers in front of them. There's still have to worry about the deep. Yeah, yeah, but it's it's they're not going to get exposed often if eyes in front of them are making plays. Sometimes they don't, sometimes not. Everything, like did Jimmy Johnson Defense, though, where they blitz the cornerback every now and then. I don't think you're gonna see that with slade on a rare so you don't have to worry about talent. They have talent. Yeah, they have talent at every position on defense other than safety. And if those if that talent produces it makes plays, I don't think we're gonna have to worry about safety too much. Is it gonna come up and butt you once in a while? Yeah, hopefully not at the wrong time. You know where it might burn you. You know where it might burn you on big runs when the cornerback and it's just or if it's like a slant route and they beat the middle of the field and their wide open, it's just a safety. That's really good burners and a deep run. I hear you. I hear you, but I'm saying hopefully it doesn't happen that often. Hopefully the line and the linebackers get after it and get to the quarterback Jordan Davis does what he did to the center. The one thing that is why they have reddick plane as a linebacker. Don't over react to that. You know why are they of Reddick plane as a linebacker? He said he can play. No, Dude, look at his stats, the time that he's been successful as a rusher. You don't need him as a linebacker. You Got Kazer white and T J Edwards. Right, it should be clearly and n Kobe Dean Reddick should be clearly a pass rusher, but the last two years he's had twelve and eleven sacks being a defensive end, I mean passing down. So he'll be. He'll have his hand in the I think he needs to be a pass rusher period. On this team, who are you putting on a linebackers? Know who you're putting on the end. Like. Who are you taking out? I guess from the Graham's a three down player anymore. He's more situational. Thirty four years old, coming off of an injury. Okay, he's the starter right now. Would you? Would you? I don't know, probably not. No, you wouldn't start Raddick over Graham? No, no, I said probably not. Have Graham in there. Yeah, I mean coming off the injury. But I think he's earned that position and that's what's hard. Yeah, they're not going to act in that position, and I mean he could also he's played d tackle to something doing. You're not playing. He's played. Not put him in attack format that he's played it on. The smart thing to put him in. Von curs should put him into the joker is. I would put Graham at Ed rusher and his son Reddick and then get rid of Burnett. He actually, you know, and then I said that playing that joker position that Javon curse used to play. Yeah, you can move him all around that defense. That's what they do with him. From what I read. Is that the very I think with Carolina last year he was mainly on the street. He was yeah, but he would drop back in the linebacker if they needed I mean he can do both. Yeah, they're going they're going to use him. I mean he's gonna Start, because you look at the money they gave him. Yeah, in passing downs, don't just have a wave. The one thing that I love about that, what they do is that you have waves of pass wrestlers. It's almost like everybody feels like a starter, right, you know what I mean? So they got a solid rotation. They're going to have a great that's probably still gonna play too. I actually he jumped off sides surprise in practice. Listen, he's a decent pass wrestler. I agree with you. That's where I agree with you. Like people, he's like people get like. He does get bad, he does dumb stuff, but he brings some nastiness to to the game that not a lot of them have. And he's a decent pass rusher. He doesn't get home a lot Um. I think those carry over, but him being you're like four for fifth pass. That's pretty good. He's he's he's not. I mean I'm not saying he's a starter on this team, but he was a starter, you know, last year, like he was a starter. So just move...

...your death is so good. You have a start at your fifth. That's yeah, pretty good. Yeah. The one thing I'm looking forward to seeing tomorrow night, and you kind of hit on it, deak, was just the hitting. I want to see the defense, because they were very fast. Did they start there? They were guarding caps two right tomorrow? I don't think so. I think the caps are off. They're they're there. It's full hitting. Are you talking about? I heard something about them wearing the first. I hope not. I didn't see it in the there's a game starting, actually games on now. Right there's a game on the two games on the night. I don't think giants and patriots and Titans and Ravens, the titans and Ravens. Is Lamar's in there still waiting for that check. You won't get it until year this I don't know if he's getting it from this team was their defense was very fast and as big as some of these guys are, they still can move and small. Does he look small compared to who, compared to the defensive line? No, I mean standing its big, the biggest looking quarterboard, pretty short for a quarterback. Um, I mean he's not like Kyler Murray or drew brees, but I would say of all their quarterbacks, I think Carson strong looks the biggest. Well, yeah, he is. He's like six, six, yeah, Um, and you said isn't that big? The Kobe Dean is not tall, he's big in the chest. Um, he's a big he's, he's. Yeah, I wouldn't want to get hit by him and that was there was a couple of plays where he would have made hurts eat his lunch if this was live hitting drills. Like he looks good because I think he has that comfort of I know I'm not going to get crushed, and I think this defense is ready to start hitting people for real. So that's what I'm looking for tomorrow, that hitting. Damn right is he likes to hit man hard. Oh my God, the middle. All right, do we want to touch on K D and to get out here? Are we done? Yeah, we were. It was a hot, hot right. So the other hot, the other hot take is, you know, the K D rumors are up again. It's good to keep coming up until he makes another team go around the table. If Katie costs you, Maxie, you're doing it. Yes, yes, sir, Ye, yes, no, no, one. Now. Let me put it. Let me put it this way. If Katie get you a championship, he does with Cardon and beat. If I can guarantee you that. Andrew, yeah, probably not even a yet. I'll probably come on. I mean, look, it's a chip. We all love Maxie, but, like people have said to me, oh well, like, what about like four or five years when you're I don't give a ship if I have a ring, because you're paying for the window. Now. We did it with the eagles. I mean Maxie, Maxie and Brooklyn, like whatever. I think Maxi is also a lot better here. Not Not takeing anything away from trees. So I love him. I love his work at Maxie also looks better here because he's not the number one option. I'm not so sure he fares as well being in a team is the number one option. It's very easy to come into a team and be the fourth option and produce. and Dj had a I thought was a good point in our text thread group chat. Text Thread Group Chat. He said text change. We could. We could see Mesa, we could see maxie back here as a free agent. No, no, he's not coming back. If we trade him, you think he's gonna be chapped? If we offer him enough money, he will. How's he going to come back? You can't see? This is where you can't pay him as much as you don't understand that you're gonna have three Max players. Dude. We're talking about like four or five, six years down the road. He he's a free he can get paid in two years. Ain't happening. It's gonna get a Max Flan said lace week he was a generational talent. Maxie. Look, I think he's also yeah, he's a very good player right now, from what we can see. I don't know if I'm ready to go to. Generally, like you hear the baby ai comparisons and he looks that way. I don't like, like you said, Schmitty, if he's the only one on the team, I don't know if he's as good or he's doing as well as he is because he's the focused point. I don't I don't defense. I don't want to say this, but like, I don't think I'll tell you right now. I'll be shocked if they get they don't have enough. Yeah, I don't think it's gonna I don't think Max is a great piece. But then you have to take Harris's ship contract. Nobody wants that. And then what else you given him after that? Well, do you see the picture from Toby's wedding? Yeah, well, there's a picture from Toby's wedding and somebody put in the comments this is the Katie trade package. It's it's Maxie toby to see what was but I says he was taking...

...a ship. That part of it. But seriously, like I'm if you're Brooklyn, all right, objectively, all right, let's like, let's take our sixers goggles off. As much as we want, K D, and you know the other should I hear is, oh, he's gonna Force himself here because he's a he's a part owner of the union, which is bullshit. Here here's the thing. I'll tell you. Brooklyn is not settling until they get a star Maxie and our eyes is a star Max around the league is a rising star. There's teams right now that, I'll tell you right now, have better offers. Number One, we've already talked about Boston, Jaylen Brown, it's an all star. Brandon Ingram is a better player right now. The maxieans and I think and I just don't. So here's the other thing. If you're Brooklyn, right, and let's like take and I know sometimes people don't want to think this, but let's let's take out all the south the equation, you're really, in the last two years, going to give Philadelphia Harden and be hardened and durant for less than one like right, and you gotta think they're feeling burnt in the deal with hardened because because Simmons is never gonna play another game exactly. He lost his girl too. Yeah, even if the sixers don't win, at least hard and played. You know, at least we got a guy it played. I'm gonna tell you right now. There was turmoil in Brooklyn. Harden is like, I need to get the F out of here because I have an option if I if they don't trade me now and I don't force the trade now, I gotta stay in Brooklyn for another forty seven million dollars. And I'm gonna tell you right now, I don't know. Do you guys? See? What about this week, about the whole ship with Simmons? Oh, yeah, that K D wants. I will guarantee you. K D wants snow part of Ben Simmons. I guarantee you he I'd be willing to bet you that he called hard enough and Joel and said you're right, you're right, Joel. This is the reason why you don't want to play with this guy. What was the text message? No, there's a message. Between Game Four, Boston asked Ben if he was gonna play all the players and then Ben left. The text start. He never never say anything and left. Check. Checked out a text start. You Burning? You guys burning cat mobile? Yeah, yeah, yeah, he still plays. Um, you know, Um, I forget where he plays, but you know he still plays. He still he and he said something not interesting, but he says something that I think it's true and it's it's an epitome of what Ben Simons is. These guys don't love the game. Ben Loves the fame. Yeah, like they loved with it right, right. He loves the FERRARIS that they don't love the game like some of the other guys do, and that's the thing that hurts me with Maxie, like Maxi, loves the game, loves the game. Dan, he's playing in the League right now, does. Durant loves the game but, like me and nate said, like dude, durant could flip on filly in a minute. Something that happens. He's done that everywhere. That's what I would be worried about. That with him. And the other rumor going around was that he gave an ultimatum to the team. You get rid of the G M and the coach and I'll stay. And this is another example of just this league being taken over by players. If you're Brooklyn and you're a player there, I think K D has earned every right. Went into like dude, Steve Nash is an idiot. But what Steve Nash got the job. I'm based on because he was a former M v P and when he was he was an assistant on the warriors. Like Nash. She's been awful as a head coach. So you don't think him beat had any role playing and getting Brett Brown out of here and management, come on, you don't think. And beat eventually said it's fine for Brett to go. He basically said in the press conference after they got swept. Like I don't have a problem with Katie saying that. Plus, here's the other thing you gotta he was here, brought in and run the franchise and Katie had been there, has been there for how many years now? And Right. But here's the thing you gotta remember. It's Brooklyn, it's New York media, three and twer. Any paint is a bad guy because he wants out. So of course, who knows if he said that in the meeting. We don't know that. It's just more of like, who knows if, like Boston didn't put that out there to like, Oh, let's lower Kat's trade value, like, because now you're talking about a guy that's let you know, you can build a case if you're a team looking at him and put the stuff out in the paper. All right, well, we know he left Oklahoma City right like he left his team when, you know, I thought he was going there. Then then Golden State. He goes there. He he gets jealous. It seems like a curry. So he leaves to go to Brooklyn. Now he wants his coach out. Yeah, I'm not a big fan of players running the team or running the league, but I think so. Here's the thing. I will say,...

...like it's you. It's not. You're not hard, not conducive to the success of the all right, let me ask you this. If you're James Harden right, you wanted a trade out of out of Houston. You saw what's going on in Houston. Give your heart and soul to that team. I hear you have Brooklyn and you wanted to go to Philly. Hold on, covid happened? You're supposed to have this big three and now you have a guy that's like, I'm not playing, I'm not doing anything that's best for the team. I would ask out two. I have no problem with hard and asking out, because at least he played until he wanted out. Yeah, I just I think that's a slippery slope when a League, let's players start to run, the League starts to run the teams. Lebrone hair. It's been run there. It's been like, Oh, I know, I know, and I don't think it's right. I think. I think the League, these leagues that have that, are going to suffer because fans don't like it. You know what, you know what real question, and I know this is totally off topic, you know what League is suffering the most right now. So, no, out of out of your take your four majors. College football. It's now become a joke. Like no, Not Trans reportal, you don't. There's been like five top recruits. I'm not even just saying Penn state because it's happened. Ohio state, would you know, is a bigger program where now kids are just flipping for money. Do I not think the kids should be able to profit on themselves? Yeah, but I don't think you should be able like Oh our Jim, you're you're committed to penn state. Then Georgia calls up. I was like, you know what, Jim, you've got a four hundred thousand dollar N I l deal. I'll give you eight hundred thousand. It ruins a sport like I understand college. I'm not saying they shouldn't be able to profit. I'm not saying that because I do think like the N C A makes a shift ton of money off these kids. However, these rules need to change because it's now glorified free agency, like you going on an official visit and committing. It means nothing. Act work to play for. It's written on just like a contract. These days in pro sports isn't worth the papers written. Players are are demanding to be traded. I mean, it's happened in every league, if you think about it. I mean, so he definitely handcuffed the nationals. I mean, look at what Deshaun Watson did the Texans. Well, it's not like he demanded to be traded, though he did. Yes, he wanted out and then all that came out. He demanded to like so it happens in every league. That's the power to players, but it's also two comes down to. Like the owner's pockets are full. In the NBA, the owners are making so much more money than the players. They are so well, Katie will continue to be connected to the sixers, like I said, until I think he actually finds a team here. He stays in Brooklyn, I think. I don't think he stays in Brooken. I don't think I don't think so. I think they gotta do something to bring fans in the stands. Ye, Kyrie doesn't want to be there either. Right, neither I want to be there, and you can't tell me that some of that doesn't have to do a ben get team's gonna be all happy. I don't. Do you agree with that? You agree, Katie, you want to play in Brooklyn. I think it's the major reason why he doesn't want to. Think because he's he's seen the true Ben Right. He saw what Bend's all about. And you know it's funny. He's about that, the celebrity, he's about the paycheck, he's about the glory and the fame. He's not about playing. Do you think he's just not had the bend conversation? Conversations over? I don't know. I don't. I'm not so sure he does. I don't think we talked about him anymore. Yeesh, it'll be the carson jar in the Ben Big Win tomorrow night at the Eagles. All right, how about shut it down? We take two out of three this weekend. Phil Win the series. Oh, I'm not saying it's a sweep him say they win the series. Alright, alright, I said he take one one. I think they win. Alright, no, two, game one and three.
