Was Cheese steaks. Teles was a strumballwie tails never fail. So maybe I maybe I favored the Strom Bowie a little bit Um. So we did have a strum ball. He had some of the Sweet Chili Wings. Fantastic wings. There are two drums left out there to be devoured when we're done. Are they notice there's no flats left? Yeah, well, because there probably were two more drums than there were flats. Nah, I don't know about that. They even flats and drums and I only had too so that's a part of it there. I realized that when we had our guests in the last time we didn't take them through the guests round of like your questions. So we'll have to get pat back on and take him through those questions. Get Bike in here anymore. Go through our standard questionnaire to make sure you're worthy of being on this fine podcast. One set of correct answers people. Yes, and they are mine, and I also I'm a little upset with myself. I forgot to acknowledge our five year anniversary. Last July fifteen, a major violation, was the very first recorded Santaboud first podcast that you can find on itunes. Now you go on Itunes, it says it's like eighty eight, but then it says episode one. I don't know what that's all about, Um, but yeah, I was the actual date. I listened to like the first ten fifteen minutes of it. Today we were professionals even back then. It was great, I think. You know what I think. Back then you were the honorable statesman. I don't think you were the elder statesman. And then there was the young and David Fensdon. Yes, yes, yes, so, oh, yeah, we were, we were. I kept them for a long time and I finally I probably still have a notebook with some sheets somewhere and laying around five years ago. who was wh would have thunked that year? Yeah, we picked the...

...perfect year to do it, the perfect year to do it. We were how many views were we getting a month? Were? According to what we were being fed, it was like, yeah, we were up over ten at one point, which we knew, like hey, we have some loyal listeners, but you know we don't have twelve. If we get two zero's we'll be happy. We'll get those views afterwards. But yeah, they were telling us we were getting ten, twelve thousand. That was crazy. I was happy to hear those numbers, but I never ever fully believed it. There's just no way we're getting that. Where did I? Nor did I, but we'll do we had talked about doing a big blow out for the five year anniversary, vacations and all this stuff. We'll do something for the season starts. It's our fifth season. We'll look at it that way. So before the Eagle season starts we'll figure something out. We'll do something big. Maybe get some guests in original do something fun. We would like to get try to get Dave back in. Reached out to him. He said he's all in as long as the jobs with a schedule all right. Well, he's a busy guy every Thursday. Maybe we'll see it. With T K's up to maybe t kill all the character from back in the day. But we've got some stuff to talk about tonight. Um, you know, it's a slow time of the season, like we said last week, but there's always things to talk about and there was a big news story today. Sixers planned new stadium down in center city. Proposal, proposed, planned one point three billion dollars down to the old gallery, the fashion district. That I'm not even trying to make the fashion district happen. It's the gallery to US old heads. Well, it's not on the same side of the street as the gallery, is it? I thought it was going to be the gallies years ago. Yes, it's it's the gallery. Well, the people that own the fashion district are the ones that, okay, did it. They told them like they're the ones partnering with the sixers funding this, and they're like yeah, like, we'll put it here. So, I mean, it's not like it's I mean, I guess it doesn't mean as much to them as it does to Philadelphia. The gallery has been dead for so many years and then the just never took off. I remember when that I think Rizzo was mayor when that thing opened up in the late seventies. I think it was the late Seventies. If it wasn't him, then it was Bill Green Um and that that was a pretty big deal. Uh, there were there were a couple of Um like major anchor stores, strawberries and clothing cloth here. was there, I think it was, and I spent many a day down in there, UM, when I was when I was in high school and and a little bit afterwards hanging out on whatever with the fashion. No, it was. It was just a mall, but it was. It was a city mall, Indoor City Mall. The putting a great place to go people water. The plan to put the mall with the stadium like a connecting or or maybe or maybe they'll build it up over the mall. So there's actually well, part of the mall is underground. Yeah, that I was gonna say soway. There's three levels, technically right. There's the subway, then there's two levels of shops. It's gonna be like it's like Madison Square Garden. That's that's when I was reading it, I was like this is literally just trying to be like New York. Yeah, which works for New York. Yeah, yeah, and Madison Square Garden built. It's built over Penn Station, right. Yeah, it's like five levels though. Yeah, well, I think, I think they well, yeah, Madison Square Garden has several. I've actually I was there. Wants to see the sixers nixt play and I was surprised at how many levels there were to this place. Different it was. It was, you know, tiered, tiered up, and that's how I think this is gonna be to you're gonna have the you can have the train station underneath, a couple of levels of whether it retail shops or whatever. Then you're gonna have maybe it's another level too, then in the stadium. I'm not I'm not really sure. I haven't seen the planes, but first impressions. Do you like it or not? Um, I'm intrigued. I kind of do like it. I'm intrigued. I I've always been one where I wanted to see stadiums in the city itself, you know, in the not like on the outskirts, like down to South Philly. Not Not that I yeah, but it's not in the city, like in the in the cart of the city, on the in the on the outskirts of the city. Yeah, and I have nothing against where the stadiums are right now. I love the area. Easy access, plenty of parking, all that business. Um, I really doing in Georgia stadiums. They're very, very nice stadiums down there. No issues with them. I basked your first impression. Then yes or no? Yeah, but this, this place and and I've always been intrigued by stadiums in in the hearts of cities, you know, in neighborhoods and and things like that.

Well, we'll give you more time to to collaborate. But yes or no, the logistics, yes or no. The logistics of it make me shy away from it. Yes, I'm a vague no, a vague no. Yes or no? I'm gonna say no. No, yes or no now? Yes or no? Yes, yes, I'm a no. Now we can talk about why. All right, all right, I'm in different though. I'm not. I'm like, if I could have said like in the middle, I would have said in the middle. But if it was, I'm leaning no because, like he said, the logistics of it, and I do enjoy going down and seeing all the stadiums in one spot. I think that's that's yeah, I think it's unique from the tradition, not tradition, and look, it's just it's always whenever I've been growing off and they're always there, not all different spots. Yeah, same with me, but I just it's it's a unique thing that philly has that other cities, smart cities, don't. But until that South Philly complex was built, the stadiums were all over the city. Connie Mack was at twenty one and Lehigh, the Baker Ball was at broad and Le High. Franklin field is where it's at at, and spruce Um, where the sixers and the warriors played basketball, was the Civic Center on Uh Convention Boulevard, which is no longer there. It's a part of chopping now, I believe, so that the four sports teams and the flyers weren't around yet. The four major sports teams all played at different locations. So there's parts of it that I understand. Um that might be beneficial, but I'm gonna say right now I don't think it happens. I don't think it ever happens. And the conspiracy, theorist to me is this is all a play for Harris to move the team out of the city. Correct, he's gonna say I tried, I wanted to build this big, beautiful new stadium in the city and help the city revive itself. And you wouldn't that happened. So sorry, I'm taking the team, I'm moving the team. It's got some foundation to it. You know they they've been trying, dude. They've been wanting that. They've been thinking about moving the sixers for a while now. I don't think the city's gonna who would argue that? Oh it is. I I agree with you, nate. You know what I mean. As much as I'm I think it's. It is, but basketball is a lot of it's a one day, one day. The history of basketball in this city is ridiculous. Look at look at we were just talking before the show. High School hoops, weird, and then you got the Polestra, the big five, all that stuff. I don't I don't think they moved. But this owner has no ties to the city at all. And and look, I see why he wants to move out right that the flyers built the Wells Fargo Center. So He's getting some revenue, but he's not probably getting what he's gonna get. Yeah, so if he goes to his own new stadium, that's all his revenue. I totally get that from a business perspective. More money for him, but if he can go over to Jersey and Jerry's like look, we'll give you a public funding, we'll give you taxi Babans, we'll give you cuts in the in the parking everything, and and Philly says, yeah, we can't give you any of that. You don't think he'say AH, I will to move across the river. I I agree that it's a Ploye, bye bye Harris, to get the team all in one central location, which is candid. I don't think I do. They already have? They already built that complex for the track. Can because Christie didn't? Christy Hook it up for them? Yeah, I don't know that. He goes right over there. I think he gives back to Newark, to the what's he going to do with the with the practice facility? The sixers? YEA, they may not be in the sixers anymore. Who knows? The sixers will still be here. They'll just have to be under a new ownership, probably right. Or they just have to start. I think you'd have to get a new frame if they take the name Ruben back in and start. Well, and that's part of my conspiracy thing, like why did he just leave? Because he's gonna he supposedly wants to do more with fanatics. They're going to start a sports book. Probably they're gonna start a fanatic sports book. So he's gonna want to get into the gambling which you can camp be an owner and have a gambling service. Um. So I think that's major part of the reason why. But I also think he still wants to be involved with the N B a. So I think he's helping pay players now through fanatics, which I think harden is gonna be the first one to do that. So and I I really don't I don't think there's any I don't think it happens. I don't know. I don't think it's on. It's obviously not on the sixers end that it doesn't happen. But yeah, I think the city did too much logistics to work out. I mean the transportation and traffic down there will be a nightmare. On a weeknight. You get like a Wednesday night game, you're gonna have to shut down their streets to traffic because of all the foot traffic. are in a half coming and it's gonna be a nightmare...

...down there for people at work down there. Again. Now I like the idea of them trying to build up the city, but I think the impression of the city isn't what it used to be, not at all. I don't think it looks. Hey, I don't. I don't worry about the guy that lives in Collegeville that comes into the city for one game of year complaining about I can't go into the city now. Like, come on, dude, if you're coming to one game of year, whether you go into South Philly or you're coming to center city. But it's just I don't know, the city's not safe right now. Yeah, the Sept is not safe right now. You're talking nine years down the road. Yeah, it's gonna get better. A lot can happen in nine years. It'll take we can fall into the oceans, Kenny will no longer be mayor, hopefully crawler is no longer a h d a. So a lot can happen. It would be interesting to get a best take on this, but you know he's preoccupied. Well, yeah, they're two suburbanites, so yeah, him too, but to see how they feel about it. I mean I think schmitty was actually for it. He sounds like he like he liked the idea. So that was interesting. Everybody looks yeah, yeah, and no. Actually, a B said he sounded like he was kind of for it too. I think he was intrigued. Look, I like the idea, like you brought up dad, of having arenas like when we go to New York, you come up through like we every time. I go to New York and come up through Penn station and it's Madison Square Garden right there. I think that's pretty cool. So I think in Philly that would be really cool to take it should trained down to the game or something and, you know, go into the city. But yeah, I like, to me, that's that's New York. Yeah, yeah, I mean it's cool, like you want to try to make that I catch it, but it's like I'll take a train into the city. Sure, but I like I like the tailgating axpect. I like going down parking, but nobody really tailgates at a sixers. You're right it. But I mean, but if there's a playoff, and they would in the springtime, Saturday night. Yeah, but what what did they do now for all tailgating? Yeah, they have sixers parties and playoff parties and stuff like that. They don't. Yeah, I mean exfinity live is really that exfinity, and I think exfinity live would probably hurt the most. Yeah, and that was going to be one of besides Eagles Games. Where are they getting the revenue if the about the flyers leave, know what I'm saying? If the fires are stuck there and they're doing all the renovations on the Wells Fargo Center right now, they give you are the flyers? Well, you're still taking it money and but you're not getting some of the revenue for when the sixers are playing. The sixers tweeted out the proposal and all Wells Fargo Center tweeted out something right away immediately about uh, something with the lease and then sixers have a leasers. I think my friend my friend brought it up. But Wells Fargo Center tweeted something out right away that was like not it was like you had to read between the lines what they were gonna they were saying essentially like we're not gonna let this go over so easily, like we're gonna put up a fight to keep the sixers playing here. So, which I mean. You know, I'm not a huge fan of the wells farkers center. They can renovate it all they want. I still don't think it's that great of an arena. But you know, I'll see what the renovations look like again that they've already made. So but there was talks about this exfinity live being built out and making that more I like kind of like what Andrew said, like all the stadiums being down there together is nice. That's nice. So if they and if they build out exfinity live a little bit more to make it more of a whole entertainment complex. Now they got the new casino there. They just it proved the Phildelphie Sports Hall of fame. Right, yeah, right, what are they gonna do? You know that's gonna bring in stuff too for them. So I I think the sixers they've obviously been planning this for a long time now and to release it the news announcement when they did on the most boring sports week of the year probably, I mean smart on them to get the conversation started. So but I wonder how much they've talked to the city about this. Right, it's played. It's proposed the real estate agency that owns the ground. It sounds like they're owned the fashion district are they are in on the sixers with budgetings and everything. You know how the city works. If I'm the Sixers, I'm saying all right. I want to Twenty Year Tax Abatement. I want to cut in the parking garages in the area that we build. I want to cut in dedicated rail services if you're doing them during the Games and the city. Sept is not going to do that. I think. I was just gonna say you think Sept is gonna be all for this or against it? They'll be four because the ridership is going to increase on games. Yeah, but how much they're going to expect? They filled up. I don't do the eagles, phillies or flyers or sixers take anything from Septon down, but I don't think they don't you know that this will intentionally get sept the more? Yeah, well, the other teams intentionally get more money.

For Sept I can't see septate demand that. I don't know cut. No, I mean the Sixers, six sixers demand that cut and they no. I mean it's going to get them a lot more unless, unless they already get a cut. I would be shocked if if the you know any any team, would get when the next why? Why would Septa even be willing to offer that? What do you mean if they separate? I'M NOT SAYING SEPT I'm saying the sixers or sixers. Why would the Sixers, why would set accepted, agree to giving them a cut because it's gonna make them more money either way? No, but they're going to get the ridership either way. But if they have to add more trades years, okay, they're going to get the money anyway because the ridership is going to be up. Except the will. But I'm telling Septa that's because of Snee. I want to cut of those extra changing around. I say no, thank you very much, but no one more thing for them to say. No, they're gonna ask for more police. Yeah, police. The city is going to have to do that. Will they have to? Will they, though, maybe not by law, but yes, we don't have, we don't have the staff to do that. If they want, if they want, Um, you know, it to be a relatively safe event. Yes, they're gonna have to. If the if the city and the police force don't want another black eye, then yes, they're gonna have to. When's the when's the next mayor election? Is that next year? You get two more years, two more years things, because I was gonna say I had to be smart on the sixers too, because you know the next two mayors, three mayors, are gonna have to put this in there. Probably fine right say like hey, you know, like we're either against this or for you know, I'm might have to throw my hat in the rank. Keep that prep guy going. I love like like, like Joe said, it's being privately funded. That's a good privately funded is great for the stadium. Yeah, don't take my taxpayer money. That's but everything else around the stadium they're gonna ask for something. As a as a smart businessman, you're gonna ask for something. How many shops are gonna get bought out by new bars or bars there? Like there's gonna be a chickens and pizza there. You know, he's gonna buy a problem there. I don't know. I don't know if any down there, unless they're in the arena. They'll probably be a Genio's in there somewhere there. Tony Lukes will probably go down. Like, you know, there's gonna be Luke didn't there. Yeah, he's changing too. Uh. I think just the shop down there. He's well, I think they only have two other shops, but it's Tony and nicks or something. They're gonna change again. Yeah, the legal battle with the family. Yeah, like Andrew and you know. Yeah, he sneak shop it, DJ and Andrews. That's pretty funny. No, but I mean it brings in revenue for the city, more revenue, for sure, but I mean the logistics, I think we've already hit on it a lot, the logistics of it for the city. Yeah, that's that's my major that's a lot of planning each night to get hurdle because you're you're going to need to change so much. You think about it with the bright, the whole bright kind of displays that they have now. It looks awesome like that. I mean it's Not New York, New York, but I'm saying, I agree that it takes that kind of mindset. If you think about it and then you put the stadium down there. Yeah, like if you think about it, Um, I'm trying to think what else is down there's just right going down. It's just it's a city halls, a couple of blocks one way and then convention it's in between City Hall and the Convention Center. Pretty much. It's like it's tenth and market. Yeah, real estate down there. Yeah, that's another that's another thing too, that they're gonna put put down there because South Philly's gentified all crazy. Yeah, so it's just it'll just keep opening up again. I like the idea of it. I just I don't know. And people are saying accessibility because of the train station, but you have that now down at the Sports Complex. You have all that people and the only thing that's gonna make these games more accessible is the lower the cost of the freaking games. And if you move into the city it's not gonna get cheaper. It's not going to get cheaper. I don't see it being more accessible than the south philly complex is right now because you can drive, you can take Sept if you live close enough. You can walk there's you'll be able to walk to center city too if you live close enough. But driving is going to be a nightmare. There's only two sept the lines to get in there right the subway and I guess you can get in the regional doesn't get you all the way down there. It's the rail doesn't go down there. What's the station? Right there street there's you got you gotta Levee Street, suburbanse seventeenth in JFK. I'm saying for down South Philly. Yeah, South...

Philly, they only have they have subway and bussing. That's all you could so center city, yeah, you got regional rail. The L will take you in Jefferson station. So you have a couple more lines that you can get in there. Yeah, buses, regional rail. The closest one, I think, would be um in JFK suburban station. See, like the idea of taking a train to the game is fawn. I don't. I don't know if I've ever even done it that I might have done it. I've done a concert, but I don't. I've done the subway after an eagles game. I've done the subway. They're tight. They suck. I can't imagine. They suck. You're just coming back. Yeah, yeah, all the way down. Maybe you're more exciting, you don't mind, but you're packed in there like sardines, because that matters. I don't even because I did it for a temple. I did it for Temple Penn State. At Temple. I took the subway with friends and it was pretty packed. I grew up on public transportation. I don't. I have no problem riding scept that I did them, but I don't know. I think they're putting too much into the accessibility thing, because that's that's for people in the city. I think they're doing it to try to help, though, too, with the city and public transportation, give it a better image, because you know, right now stuff does not having a good but is that the sixers job to do that? It's not, but I think it's a way that that they can help give in a way give back. They could try. That's what but that's what I'm saying. The city's gonna have to give something right like Harris's. Harris is a businessman. He's not doing all this out of the kindness of his heart. Right, I'm gonna put this Nice, big, beautiful new building down there. You guys got to meet me at least half like you gotta get what am I getting out of this? I love the idea I can help the community and I'll continue to do that, but I'm moving into your new property, your new ground. Help me out here, because I I can't take this all all my stuff and in tyres. Max is the only one left on this team and Bible and this team sucks. Not a great time to move stadiums and I was thinking too. I mean you're not strictly gonna have just sixers there. You're probably gonna do the concerts there, College Basketball Games, High School Basketball Games, probably eventually. So I mean there's other stuff they'll do there, but it won't just strictly be sixers. So the city has to take that into consideration as well, because there's not there's gonna be revenue. Say That that is revenue away from the sixers. Pretty much right, even though it's under it's in their place. No, I think if they owned the building, they get it, they see place, who it is? It's bad. It's bad. We were brainstor really they really got to work on that. If you make the better one better one, I said, if it's named the city John, maybe maybe you're swaying. May The new John. Call it the new John. Seventy six places. It's bad and it's gonna be sponsored by somebody. To right. Seventy six place brought to you by when this came out this morning, me and my friends were all talking about it and the one my one body brought in in our groups. They brought in the H was it? They made this creative group specifically for this project and they're called like seventy six develop or something like. That's the name of their group and it's like six years. are very creative with seventy six place. And then there are a group that they called for. It is seventy six developer, some developer, some some stupid. Yeah, they got to go back to their focus group and come up with something. They need to back to the conference room or something, I think of it. Alright. Any more thoughts on that? I think it's it's nine years down the road. I mean it's it's something good to talk about now because it's so dead right now in Philly sports. But yeah, they couldn't have tied it anybody. That's what I'm saying. They definitely planned at the release the information this week, you know, just because it help boring, especially and you just just the day after the All Star game. Well, yeah, but I was gonna say the day after you signed hard into his people are probably feeling good, so they're like, oh, this is a great idea about the sixers, and then it's like well, when you think about it, yeah, if how many fools are going to be in, this will be that's what we're we need to see the plans and show me that. I'll see if I could get them. I could easily way to a yes. If the logistics can be worked out, if they come up with a new name, then I'm all on floor. I mean what like? Do you think about it? How many people in South Jersey come over that drive? Yeah, so, I mean how are they going to get there? And you can take the pack of line over. Is that what the high speed line? Yeah, that's yeah, that's here's here's a question. It'll definitely be cheaper, cheaper, cheaper to take public transportation now instead of parking. Absolutely so that's another thing they can have. Absolutely, but how much cheap sixers have in their favor?...

I don't know what a train ticket costs nowadays. I I haven't read written. The last time I took the subway, probably in the spring. It was like okay, but to get from where we are you gotta take the train down. I gotta take a regional rail down the center city. Okay, it was thin, zone three Cornwall Heights. I think we're zone three. It was like seven bucks. It's got I want to say it's at least seven one way. Yeah, because I took the L from fish down to center city. It was two fifty. Yeah, that's not too bad. And and and you're betting, betting that the trains are gonna run on time. So you're gonna gamble that? Are you gonna gonna drive down and pay the thirty hour marking? Jim, you brought up a good point. I think Septa will set out they need special lines, specific trains, and they do that now. They don't know. They don't increase the Eagles Games. Today they run express trains. Were the Games? Subways, your trains, but for Eagles Games, subways, just the subway, the maybe, maybe, the Alto. No, not the train, though, the regional rail, reginal rail, the trains like the peoples that when I come down for the Games, because you can catch regional rail to city hall, yeah, and then catch the subway. But if regional rail is not running a special train and if regional rail shuts down at ten o'clock at night and it's an overtime game, how are you getting home, ubers? Yeah, like like we went to the Rolling Stones Concert and we took acceptive, that's right, and we got, you know, kind of like, you know, piste off on. The guy just told us you know, like you know, go get a map, dude, like we're on the bus. We took the bus to city hall and then, uh, well, fortunately you were with myself and Uncle Joe and we knew how to get home via sceptive from where we were. And if you try to get an uber from any event going on down there, Uber like quadruples theirs to go five blocks it's going to be a hundred box fifty dollars or gas fifty dollars for a tip. Yeah, so we asked whether you were for it, yes or no. I'M gonna ask, do you really think it happens? Yes or no? No, no, no, no, do you think it happens? M Hmm, just be the Concherian, just yeah, just be the smitty. I'M gonna say. I'M gonna say yeah, I'M gonna say they're gonna get the money and I think they're gonna move it. It makes sense. I mean they're they're building up center city crazy. They've also built up the waterfront and they've said for years how they were going to move to the waterfront, to the Penn's landing. For a few years I thought that would have been awesome, sick. That would have been awesome. That would have been nice because that that would be I'd be all for that. And a new philly stadium was supposed to be at one time was supposed to be Spring Garden. Well, that was also rumored to be in the city at point two further in, like every time the new stadium, they look at in the city and it just falls apart. For the three places that they were talking about for Citizens Bank Park was Delaware and Spring Garden, broad in Spring Garden and where Bibury is. That would have been great. Would have walked, could walk or ride your bike. Seriously, that that's we should propose that. Yeah, we know, Swee Tall, let me let me call it Josh. Josh, you got a minute forget about the city. Let me tell you a really happened spot. Yeah, come on, when you top golf right there, come on, Steve State, there's a chicken's right there. He got access to the TURNPIKE. You got access to nine. Come on, access bus. The bus goes right up and down the bust down the boulevard. Plenty of space. I think we need a new consulting hotels right up the street. You got sham in four hour, eight hour, overnight increments, whatever you want. Top option the union tap I think it's called. There's plenty up there in the state. It's a happy D northeast. It was just a mental institution. It's all right. When you dig down to the ground you'll find some tunnels, maybe a body or four. Don't worry about the ghost running around the voices. You hear that going through the walls. It's nothing. Yeah, it's just it's just people cheering the team and it's cheering. You're excited, you're here. All right. Enough on the six years. Well, we'll hit on the on the phillies before we take a break. To the PHILLIES. Um, they're looking to do some renovations. I would have talked about we're still on the focus on the stadium here. So there was a report that came out this week just ranking the major league teams and the cost to go to a game, and the average price for Um for the whole league was two four hours for four tickets. Um, it was it four tickets, four hot dogs, two...

...beers, two showed is in parking. Two hundred and four dollars at the average. The phillies came in at two hundred seven dollars and that included tickets to four tickets. Yes, yes, but I wouldn't know where they're getting these numbers from. So they're saying the average phillies ticket was thirty six dollars. Okay, I'll buy that. I'll buy that. The average hot dog three dollars. No, not dollar dog night the only time you're getting three dollar hot dogs. I think they're the cheapest dogs. Five Bucks. It's five bucks. I don't know where he got three hours. So I saw that. I'm like, yeah, a beer, beer to thirteen dollars and they probably up this season. I haven't been down there yet this season, but a domestic pounder, I think, is fourteen. I thought we went, what was it last week, two weeks ago, I bought US two beers. It was twenty six bucks. It sounds right. At the Eagles, if you got anything other than the domestic at the eagles it was thirteen dollars last season and it was twenty five ouncers. My God, they're like, they're like what or something like that, and it Wasna. That's what I was talking about. Yeah, and every time I buy a beer at a stadium I just think of my dad. Yeah, my dad. I'm just thinking my dad and he's just rolling in his grave saying I can't believe you're actually doing this. I can't believe you're actually doing sorry, I'll pick one game a season at theatles games and buy more than two beers. Other than that, I drink them before I get in and I don't buy any. Want to answer the game, to kill the tick, like when we kill the traffic. There's dudes in our row man, in our section where they spend their paycheck on beer. It's probably the only game to go to. No, there's yeah, there's guys in my in my road to next. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, there are guys in my road to. Now I think about it. are constantly coming back and forth of Beers. I don't know. Maybe I don't. I don't get the mixed drinks. Yeah, I don't either. Yea. Well, I have to mix drinks for the punch factor, right, like you'll get more out of a mixed drink. As far as getting staying intoxicated. If that's your and that's you're going on out of game, like I'm yeah, I'm not. I'm locked in. Yeah, I don't want to have to worry about spelling on me. I'm trying to drink out of my top. Yet now I'm with you on that. Um, so does five dollars. That seems I think it's it might be seven dollars for a regular and like nine dollars for the souper, something like that. Yeah, I think nine. I think the eagles it was seven and nine. Okay. Again, this is baseball, so it's probably a little cheaper. I think because they have more games they make them a little cheaper. And then parking twenty one. Is it twenty five now down there for games, Eagles are forty. I try and park on the street. Next, if you're next to the stadiums, they have the sisters bank lots. Those are twenty two. Okay, think you think you want to hear absolutely crazy number parking in a stadium garage nationals park. Take a guess. Yeah, uh, just because how you're saying it, I'm want to say it's like fifty bucks man, man. It's fifty fives to park in the stadium garage at Nationals Park. Because where you're at? where? I know where? I know it's where you're at. I know, but it's insane. I should see if that's the number that they had on here. But I looked at these numbers and I'm like this, this is not it's not reality. They're a little low. I don't know where you're getting this from. A little low. The nationals were the fifth ranked team for Pricey Um, they got the parking. They got the parking at twenty four hours. Yeah, well, that average. So who knows what else is around? Right? This is a garage in the stadium itself. Okay, the phillies parking and what was one? That seems a little low. But there are some cheaper lots there for fifteen. And is that whattro is like? Are you go all the way down like packer and maybe GET CISCO IS TO USE THEIR LOT? It's like fifteen bucks, I think so. Yeah, there are some cheaper lots down there, but I know right next to the stadium, those are two dollars, I think. Okay, so they might be right, but yeah, that's that's still a little low. I mean, I spent myself last week. I bought what did I buy? I bought a beer. I went to look, I went to Bulls Barbecue, I got a pull pork. I think I bought a coke zero and peanuts. That probably cost me like I got at the same game. I got myself a Kabasi Sandwich at Bulls and, where I get and the cheese steak and and and Dominic's cheese steak. He got a soda, Soda, Soda. And did I get a soda? Yeah, I'm pretty sure it was forty one. Almost choked when she said I was like...

...what you should have said? Let me see, it's bull back there, that prime kabasis and I got the Kabasi Sandwich because it was listed in nine dollars. That was and that's all it was, was a role and it was huge. Oh yeah, it was like that thing was like exactly good time for a great guy. Before we start going in the CDs Um, when we're touching on the philly stating there there increasing the scoreboard seven off. And isn't that going to block the view? You have that Nice view looking out left center? I would hope so. Where it's you're gonna if it's gonna be seventy seven, like I read, you're gonna Block some of that city. You can, they said, you can fit five hundred and sixteen life size fanatics on that Seventies. Six wasn't or something. Why do you do that? It's already big and off like there's no need to expand it. You talk about the Cowboy Stadium and on the huge screen. I feel like den when they're that big, you don't watch the game. You're watching the screen all time. Yes, are people's eyesight is getting worse. Maybe they should do that in average test. You know, I find I'm thinking it's for the deaf people trying to read the caption on the screen. Do they put that in all the stadiums? Maybe? Maybe. Is there that many death I don't know. Like, is there a lot of a large number of deaf people? You don't know because they don't speak. I'm saying that like, is there a large number of deaf people go on the means the police games? Sure, it's not. A majority of the population. Like it. I don't think that's really but really, did need to read, like the game. What do you need to read during the game? I find myself, when I go to the link, watching the screen because we're we're in the back corner of the end zone on the visitor's side, Pattison Avenue side, and I find myself watching that far end screen where Jimmy sits. He can see you. Yeah, well, I like Jim seats because his seats are good because you get to get the play in front of you and then there's that delay on the screen so you kind of can look right up and you see. I used the screen for the replace stuff, but otherwise I'm watching the field like your you can see the holes, yeah, you can see open you can see the whole. It's the best. That's that's the first part into yeah, what, Oh my God, increase in the phillies screen. Why you're doing I don't know what that is. Big I love going to Phillies Games. I think scissors banks park is a great stadium to watch a game. I don't understand. I don't think there's really much to fix with it. The seats. The seats are you know, they're not uncomfortable, they're nice. They're big and off, you know. I mean you have room to walk by the you know, the aisles. I don't have a problem with this. Is Be Park. I don't know why they're doing that to it. I think it's actually a very good stadium. I did too. I think it's the best one they have for the three. No, the link, link might be better. Dude, the link game better. I think where we sit's very nice. I'm gonna have a whole you're spoiled. But you know, no, I'm serious. Like the link ain't all like. I don't think the links at great. I think I want to have I want to have a whole conversation on the in stadium experience on Game Day. I like the link. I love the link, but after being in some other stadiums, I feel like there's things that they can do to make it nicer. Like being up in Pittsburgh, up hines field this year, like it's not and woman I work which she's a huge steeler face, she goes out there for a couple of couple of games. Probably she's not happy with that. But this week we talked about it. Last week I talked about it with her. Last week we weren't sure they have the big Um. They're screen has hines catchup bottles on the sides and when you're get into the red zone the bottles start to pour to catch up into the so when when we were at the pit game, when we're visiting the college, there was a kid in front of he was hammered, hammered, and every time he's like catch up, catch up, and he was turning around the screen and he was like high five and my daughter and Jesse and he's loving it and they are taking the catchup bottles away. So we thought maybe they would keep that like may behind and still sponsor somewhat. That's Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh. Um, they thought they'd keep it, but no, insurance, insurance company. I think they're paying them like five times when hines was gonna give him what. I get that hines had the name. Something was today, isn't it like M I don't know. That's acupuncture or something. It's like a sore insurance or something. It doesn't roll off the tongue, not at all. It'll still behind a picture of Aston.

Yeah, they're removing the I just I'm not a huge fan of the link. There's like a couple parts of it and then like the rest of it. You think, think about it, though. It's twenty years old new. Yeah, it's over twenty years old. Two thousand three was the opening season. So okay. What I like is like where the club box, where we sit, there's like the like, the like, very like to be honest, like I'm not trying to sound Sonadi because, trust me, I'm not, but but the club box is very like, it is very nice and that I feel like that's the only areas of the stadium where they renovated and upgraded over the years. Like you walk the lower concourse level, there's nothing upgrades. Bland's there to upgrade. You can upgrade a little bit. It's a whole. It's an outdoor stadium. What is there? But there's Hinesfield is an outdoor stadium on a river. And you walk on the lower level there's like they're hall of fame with like lockers, jerseys on helmets, like there's things there you can do to make that rather than just the hallway for you to walk through and get to your seat. Remember saying that. I thought that was kind of a cool piece of it. I remember seeing pictures like yeah, you've posted pictures of a right, I think I did. Yeah, it's like that's the one section, the link, like the main entrance, the Pepsi Gate, like the downstairs for you a yeah, the concourse, which it's the same stuff for you, but it's inside the headhouse. I forgot the name, but, like you said Jim and hines field. They had all stuff throughout the whole level of the concourse. I think the eagles could do that when we were Um, I want to say Jacob's field in Cleveland, but I know it's not Jacobs field. Yeah, you want to talk? I like no, I thought that was a cool looking stay. Yeah, I like that. Buffalo was bad. I like it, Dude. It was. It was concrete pillars and the stadium was so high. It was really it's like yeah, because that's you want stadiums that go up instead of out, because it keeps you on top of the action because when you go out you're not so away from the fans out there too their auto. Yeah, they're just giving this crap because he had philly. Yeah, Ralph Wilson Stadium in Buffalo. Heard that. That's a ship hole. That's a they're building a new one. Yeah, Tiger Stadium Nice where they play tigers. Yeah, there's like a museum of like their history of their team. Nashville was nice, but what the hat outside and all the like? If you walk around on the bottom water, the water front? That's why the sixers would be nice to be on the although they're not an open state. Stadiums are nicer front the union right on the water. But then the Titans Stadium, when we were there, it was cool because our backs were up against yes, and we could see in the river. Yeah, what I what I liked was when the tugboats went by and they blew their horns. That was pretty cool. Titans stadium wasn't that bad. I don't know, what's it called, Nissan Na um? Yeah, that was actually not too bad. There wasn't a big tailgating scene. I feel like maybe because we stayed there was just that side, though, if you went to the other side of the stadium where there isn't Broadway and what's the other Second Street? Is that second? It's probably all parking lots in neighborhood right like south a little bit. Yeah, I don't know. I just feel like the link could take a page out of other stadiums playbooks, and I'll give you that, but I still think it's a nice stadium. Like have you have you been on the upper level? You've been on the upper level. You sit there. I mean there's nothing, nothing like well, you can't. There's no concourse to walk around there. There is. It's very small it's very it's really they have. That is a problem they have. Of course, levels are too narrow. They because they have shops to go around the whole stadium. Yeah, now it breaks off. I have to go down the concourse. That goes around the complete stadium. You have to go down. I go. That's yeah, you can't go all the way around. But now they built that bar at New bar off to the left of us, so you can get on our right three quarters of the way around. Yeah, yeah, on our right. Yeah, on your right, on our right. It's a nice little bar. But yeah, you can. You come down one side to the other. You got down from it cuts off right if you come down and if you're looking at yeah, because at Eagles Nest. Yeah, it's just a dead end. Because, I mean when I when I went to the game last year, it wasn't in our seats. It was for another game. We parked at jets rot to tailgate all day and our seats were on the other side. So we went in on the one side and we had to go all the way around and then up. I'm like, this is so stupid. Why can't you just go up and go around like Sistens Bank? Park. You can go up, you go all the way around. You know what I mean, like the vet went on every level of the vet went around. It did well as Fargo centers, as much as I bashed a little bit earlier. You can go around. I get it's the layout of the field...

...in cord and you know, I say, but you could have done it. But yeah, when you look at other stadiums, the size are all open up. It for the airflow and all that. Blah, blah, Blah Blah. Well, you know the wings. Is the roof? Exactly, yes, and Corny. Come on, Jeff, it's not corny. It's Corny. It plays into with the with the theme of the team, and nobody knows about it. Exactly. Know about it. Fans know anybody. Don't get some intoxicated idiot. He's not going to know a single clue what you're saying. No, about the stadium. If you if you take a tour, you know what it is. Otherwise, if you didn't take that tour, you don't know that. Or if you happen to read about it, like I did. If you found out about read about it. If it's meant to intimidate, it's not worth exactly like teams flying over the stadium in the Philadelphia International. Unless you bring the vet back, there's no stadium that's going to intimidate anybody. T D Garden, seventy place will seventy six place. Well, it's a nice way to wrap it up and we can get into a quick commercial. Alright, we're gonna take a quick, quick commercial. We'll come back, we'll talk a little bit of training camp and then then we'll get out of here. But you listen to Santa boot first podcast, hang through the brake. We'll see in a minute. So, man, are of fact I play xopod. No good, keep a steeler. Take a break. But the did you momut us? We're not sen remember that when I told you I played with the steelers player on Xbox? Yeah, he's texting me all the time. They get on the floot. Oh an actual player, like an actual steelers ways, a linebacker. Nice. That's cool. That's that's the thing. Like I see Brodie all the time, like he's watching videos, he's going on. Somehow they came across this stream and it's like jalen mills or Tory Matthew and like they get the guy's name and they invite him to keep playing with them. Like he added me on Xbox and then we've just been playing ever since. That's cool. I was INN ask for not like now, but later, not a lot. If you can open me up with some tickets to the Eagle steelers game here just to meet him. Yeah, come down. You wear a freaking steelers Jersey. I Dom said you should make a bet with him to play him with two K if he beat you have to wear his Jersey to the game, but if you beat him, you have to you get to wear an Eagles Jersey to the game. WHO's alright, I thought it was the guy you're playing with. It all right, he's a he's a steelers fan, but I know his mom is where I have to wear like a steelers Jersey to the eagles game, but if I win I get to wear an Eagle Jersey. Is Doma Stewart Finn or he just wants to break your balls? I just I think his I think his mom is a steel she's I've seen her wear Troy Palamo. Think they're back. We're back live another episode of the say the BOOT first podcast. Thanks for hanging with us through the break. There Um I saw that little m beat action on on the court there. Let's let's talk there. We got a couple of quick hits. We talked about the stadium. Harden is back. I know smithy would love to be here and sing the praises of James Harden. Look, the guy took two years. Sixty nine we're calling it sixty nine Um, sixty nine million for two years. Hey, I'm not going to bash the guy on this. Right. He says he wants it to be a better team. He wants to do everything he can to make the team win. Now you see the videos this week where he's working out. He says I want to get back to being the best I can be on the court. I'll say I'm wrong. If it happens, I will be the first one to say I am wrong. I want him to have that drive. I want him to be that guy. He didn't show it to me. That's why I'm disappointed in him. Hey, if he does it, he's saying the right things. Looks like he's doing the right things. Let's just see it translates to his play on the court next season. I agree. I'm I'm I'm gonna wait and see. Attitude I want to uh, I want to believe it. I want him to do it, but I'm not going to believe until I see him do it. It's just we we got suckered in on those first five games last year when he when he was traded here. We thought, yeah, here we go, get you see it on broad street. And after that fifth game it was just it was hit or miss with him. Um, you know, playoffs, he wasn't didn't do anything really spectacular except for that one game. One game he had a he had a really, really nice game, but that elimination game against Miami, shot the game and shot the ball two times in in the second hand. That's that's completely unacceptable off of what is supposed to be your second best player. He said he wasn't healthy. I'm done with the videos. Yeah, the...

SIXERS team does that every year and I'm just I'm at this point. I'm like, you know what, that's great. Let me see it, though, and and I'm and I if I used to have a little bit of uh, like coin invested in the regular season, if I could use that, but now I'm just like, you know what, regular season does not mean anything to me. I have put no value into the regular season after the last three playoffs, NBA playoffs, I put. I mean you'll have your good teams that will be you know, that show you that they're the top of their conference. But come still, you still wanted though. Yeah, but I mean if you finish, if you finish, if they finished next year as a five seed, fine, like, I'm not gonna get buttered over it. I mean I probably will, but like that he'll be right with what we feel like. You know what, and it's different in the playoffs. I mean Home Court advantage for this team really didn't matter. That I saw with all the stadium stuff going on. I saw something. Actually was at Mark Drum, the guy that we used to do some stuff with him from fourth and go I don't know if he's still with fourth and goes. Maybe you shouldn't plug up or whatever. Um, he's put eight now. He put a comment out there that they could play on Mars for all I care, as long as they get past the second round. Like I don't care where the stadium they get past the second round. But yeah, it's the hype videos. We've seen it before. We've heard it before. The injuries. I'm gonna come back healthy. I feel like maybe it was the injury. I just feel like he lost his step last season and he's not old. I'm not gonna like that'sminny's an argument like, oh, he's not old. I'm not saying he's old, but he's playing a lot of years from a basketball career perspective and he's put a lot of wear and tear on his body and it showed. I mean the dude has been probably the top five scorer in my lifetime. That tears on you, you know, going to the rim everyone. Not only that, but his lifestyle wears on him. Yes, and you know the weight, the Yo Yo with the weight. You know, all that takes a toll on your body. And now that he's over thirty and he's realize that he's getting yeah, he's getting right. That was our conversation out here. It catches up to you and it takes longer to recover. He's going to be thirty three, I think, this year. Yeah, it takes longer for your body to recover and you know you may not full year old though you went two of you was rich. Absolutely. What was the conversation in the car up here? The young lady was what did you say she was getting kid knocked there a little bit? She was in the early thirties. YEA, we about the lady. You know, we don't need to bring it up on here. But anyway, according to Deak, if you're in your mid thirties you got a footing your middle aged three Um. Yeah, but and all right, so it's hard to the side. Six ers still haven't done anything with the money they freed up. Right. I Know Tucker got some of it and the house, but we still have room. Is On under contract. You don't have to pay him anything different. We still have room and it looks like at this point toby stay in. Five will stay in for well, the Marquis, Mars, Marquis, Pat Beverley, this is. These are the names that I heard that we could fit right now. I know, but do I really do you really want them? Like I would take those guys over for hunt? Yeah, Beverley interests me because I think him and Tucker on the defensive side, they give a little edge and beat under them already. The same you're upgrading your you're upgrading your bench with those guys, which they need to do, but they also need to upgrade their starting five. I don't think you can upgrade the starting five at this well not at this point. But they they kind of missed the boat on that. Yeah, and and bead was talking about you know, and Danny Green brought it up before. yourustrated. You know, this team needs another level the maturity and and beat once a little level of toughness too. That's the thing. If you bring in you've already brought in Tuckers, so he's a tough guy. And if you bring in beverly and Markiv Mars, either one of them. Yeah, I mean they're they would be considered goons and hockey either. Goons and and and beats on the bench. Teams aren't afraid of us, right. Yeah, now, now you bring one of these guys, come on, bringing in the paint, you're gonna eat an elbow. I mean, and I think you know, philly being Philly, they would love. Yeah, they would love. Yeah, as annoying as P J tucker and pet Beverley were on other teams. I mean when we played the heat in the series last year, I was saying the whole time, I was like, I would love P J Tucker if he was on the Sixers, because he brings that edge that this team needs and you know, I'm happy they signed him. But if they can go get another guy like him, the problem is going to be the production. The production won't always be there because they're older too, and you know, there's a reason. Yeah, there's a reason why these guys are bouncing around the way. So, but I...

...mean, Hey, you know, sometimes that's what it takes someone a championships, guys like that who are experienced vets and they play with that chip on as PJ want anywhere. He was a star. That's right, he was. He was. Yeah, so, I mean, you know and pat, everybody's been. He was with the clippers, been on winning teams, but has won one. I was gonna say I think he was gotten even out in the second round. Yeah, he was with the clippers. When he was he on that clippers scene when they had Chris Paul and Blake Griffin, or was here Jordan's? I don't even know if he was on that team. I don't think you want to but he's been. He's he's a guy who's been in the playoffs for a while. So I mean, like you said, the veteran leadership, the chippiness, the guy that will get under people's skin and he may score two points, but just the the chaos that he on the core, getting into other team's best player's head, causing him to have a bad night. Hey, that's what you need him to do. That's his role and he understands that. He plays it very well. Yeah, I mean, I wouldn't hate those moves. That's who they brought in, but, you know, I think they're they're the reason why they did that, though, is to see if they can still get a nice trade trade offer for Tobias and thrive, and which at this point doesn't. Yeh knows. It sounds like it's gonna Happen, doesn't. The only player that sounds like they're on a trading block still at this point. He said Mitchell. Yeah, and do you just see what the seven, seven or eight first round picks? Yeah, that's absurd, Kevin Durand you see what good they just gave up for Rudy Gilbert? Five or six? Five, I think it was a pretty stupid yeah, that's still absurd. That's ridiculous. But it's Danny ainge. He's gonna World. I mean that's I'm still I mean that Kevin Durant talk died after a day. That died real quick and now Kyrie and them are cool. Everybody's good. So you know, that died real quick. I don't know what's going on there, but they will be interesting too. You have them to worry about. The Nets, probably the best team in the east. Still not. I don't think the sold is gonna be as good as anywere. I I don't know, I just I just think they're there's just so much drama up in with the nets. And, you know, talent, though, it is just good, I know. But the rants another year older. Tooth lit it up last year. I know, but he's what's he going to be? Thirty four? Thirty five? He's thirty three. Ky reason going to be another year older. He's well On the other side of thirty. No, he's not, he's he's thirty. He's thirty. I just looked it up. Um, and you know, you don't know what you're going to get out of Ben. It would not shock me if ben doesn't play, if you got traded to or if he got traded. It would not shock me at all. Ben Wallace, what are we talking to? Oh, that guy didn't play all year. Yeah, that guy, the one that has the back issues and then goes deep sea fishing three weeks after the season and post pictures. That's that's good for your back. Yeah, that's very really helps your back. It's good. Extra stretch. It heals it real fast. Good stretch, good stretch, good stretch. He stretch out them back. All right, Eagles training camp starts this week. Next week. Yeah, we're still in this week. Starts Tuesday right, whatever that date is. Um, it's gonna be an interesting offseason'll see what happens. Off Seasons almost over. But training camp, there's a lot of positions they are battling. So that's what I want to ask. What, as training camp opens, what position are you looking at the most? Hop I want to see the defensive line, mainly the defensive tackles. The insiders want to say I'M gonna be looking at the defensive side the whole time. You got all phases. Uh, linebackers and then corners. Not, the corners are pretty set in stone. But Safety. Safety, second. WHO's your second starting safety? It's not you. Are they going out and get are they they signed? Um, they got from tart. It's a quick tart from his tart or whatever he did see really the starter, though. I mean they got started for right now I don't know that you have. You have. I would have his tart. And Harris. Yeah, Anthony Harris, Anthony Harris. I mean who else you got? Like Cabon, hasn't proved it, and and EPPs EPS, I hate, I can't stand service serviceable. Yeah, but I still think he's so you're all in on Jesse Bates. Why is Jessee Bates not an eagle yet? I don't know. I just can't figure it out. The money, maybe. What's a new contract? So if you're trading for him, you have to give him a new con the problem is, if you pay him, you can't pay your hearts next year. True, they can make work out. Ye, you get rid of Cox. You got money. Cox Isn't a one year deal. Yeah, and you know Brandon Graham maybe retiring, maybe he takes, but then you take. I mean you just lost two pieces to your defensive lines. Yeah, yeah, I think no matter what, Cox is just strafted Jordan Davis, because you know Cox is going after this year or so. But to say Jordan da this fresh box in the same sense. But that's what that's where...

...my that's why my most an interesting part of the training camp here is to see that the interior there. He Got Cox, you got Davis, you got Um, hardgrave. Um, you got the two guys a drafted last year right to it and Williams, I think mill Williams. I think so too. I think he's pretty good. So and as much as I don't like Elliott Trup Park, he put it out there. Hardgrave, is he a tradable piece right now? Did you see that? I don't get it, but if you read into it, I like I like depth in rotation. Hargrave is hot and cold as a player. Like he started off last season on a tear and then the end of the year you really didn't hear him much. He's young, though, and if you're you're going to move off from one of them. I think it's either him or Cox. But your best defensive Lineman. Do you think costs are best defense? He's yeah, I think it's hard grave. It's hard, hard, yeah, yeah, I mean maybe a Reddick as a pass rusher. Now I'm talking interior here. I'm thinking, I'm thinking defensive line period. I think it's hard greave. Yeah, I gotta. He was. He was the only pro bowler. Yeah, if you're talking to yeah, I'll buy that. I'll buy in that. So do you. It's just confusing to me because then you trade him, Cox is not gonna be here. Well, I think if you trade him, Cox has got to come back unless Jewardan does really well and one of these other rookies steps in a while. I agree with you. And and and it's hard for me to say that because I'm a defensive Lineman, you know what I mean. And I and Cox was at one point that can neck with Donald and we already know the answer to that question now. Yeah, but he's fallen. He's fallen off. Hopefully, in his defense, if they are moving to that kind of three four where he can move into that kind of reaching Richard Seymour type role where you know Richard was, Richard got. Richard was good already, but in the later in his career he was, he was, he was a mount he was a monster and he made pro bowls in his later years just because the three four kind of saved his career a little bit and he had more one on ones. Um You're also talking about teymoar with a bill belichick. Yeah, you got that much facing this in this defensive coaching. They had the space eater in there to yeah, right, yeah, yeah, right, and you have that in Davis. But I mean I'm thinking that's gonna it's gonna be a three four. But I mean we already saw Gannon Getting H head coaching love last yeah, and I don't understand that at all. He's he's making his rounds in the circles that he's a hot prospect. So if they show out this year, he's he's going. Could be as good as gone and stay with the three four. Do you switch like it's it's it's a funny dynamic that's building. If he got the number of head coaching interviews this year, you kind of got to write it off that he's gone next year. Getting they win? Yeah, they got, and he's he's one of the question marks that I have for myself going into the season. Him, Sirianni hurts. Those three are the big question marks that I have for myself going into season. I know you're not going to see a whole lot in the preseason because it's all vanilla based on both sides of the ball, but I I want to see something out of the defense. That's gonna tell me this year is gonna be a little different. They'RE gonna be up in their faces, they're gonna bring the pressure, they're, you know, gonna do whatever, but they're gonna change it up. They had, they had the players now to do that. You. Yes, that's and that's and I that's why I need to see the changes this year as opposed to what he did last year. I don't want to see that picket line defense. I don't want to see ten yards off the ball when it's third and seven. You know, I want to see guys up in their face, I know, but they give up first downs, get off the damn field, giving up the first downs and the and the six, seven, eight minute drives, whether it's a field goal or touchdown, and get off the field. I feel like every week they're during their meetings. They went in with the headline on their projector of Ben but don't break. I can't stand that defensive in their philosophy for having years for decades, for decades and decades. Jim Johnson did not have that. He was kind of in there like yeah, he he, he would, he would, he would give it up he would play off you until you got to the thirty yard dawkins didn't have Jim Johnson as a coordinator. Oh He's not, Brian Dawkins. Yeah, yeah, but he would. He would play off you until he got to the thirty yard line. That he would. He would start to bring the pressure and get up. But I also blame Jim Johnson for the philosophy of not needing linebackers. He was, I was gonna say he was lucky enough to get a couple of good linebackers, but they always had the great defensive line...

...and the cornerbacks and if they their philosophy was, if this defensive line gets pressure, all we need the quarterback to make sure they're on the guys. That's kind of what the eagles philosophy is. That's what I'm saying. This is there. This philosophy for decades. Like scheme was just we're gonna rush our D line anyway they can get to the que that's stupid. Wide Nine before him, hey did the wide nine did or Schwartz did? Schwartz did the wide nine before he would watched. Wait, let's check that the defense didn't do a damn thing except make one freaking play, the greatest play, the greatest play in eagles history. Strip sack fumble recovery. That greatest play in eagles history. Now, I'm I agree with that, but that was the only play name that. That's what the Eagles have done for they just got them a ring. They're just gonna have their D line get to the QB anyway they can and it works if your corners are good and and and that was so. That was Buddy Ryan's he saw the transition, uh, from a from a running league to a passing league back back in the eighties and he came up with the defense to get pressure on the quarterback and he, you know, he had that phenomenal defense in Chicago, uh and he and he went came to the Eagles and have phenomenal defense with the eagles and it was well, it was. He had two great defensive lines who got after the quarterback and he brought the extra pressure. He wasn't afraid the blitz, even though he had four guys that could dominate the line and get in and stuff to run and get after the quarterback. He still wasn't afraid to bring pressure with the linebacker or d back and that's what that's where. What's his name needs to get to Dannon for another time. But who is the more talented or better positions that didn't win a championship? The D line of the mean green defense? Gangreen, Gang Green, I'm sorry, Gang Green Defense, or the four aces of the phillies? Is that that go on? That's it going? I think they I don't know that. That gang green defense was a great aces. Had How many cys? I think the aces are easy. You had holiday cy young winner didn't win a CY youngtorically had had reggie white, Hall of Famer. Eric Owen should be hall of family. Seth joined should be hall of Famer, not that whole team. No, I'm saying the defense line. Yeah, Alright, defensive compared, Jerome Brown would have gone to the hall of fame if he didn't die. Simmons Right, Clyde Simmons lived off of Reggie White and Mikel Jerome Brown. Huh, I disagree with that. Jerome Brown, really, come on, Dude. He dominated the defensive line. It was nice when you got Reggie next to you. Yeah, and he he but he wasn't the other Clyde Simmons lived off of Reggie White. He got a lot of sacks on his side because they ran, you know, went away from Reggie, but I'm just give him a hall of fame though, a hall of fame. Jerome Brown, yes, he was. I think he was that dominant. Yeah, in the middle. Yeah, I thought you were arguing it. Blew up a lot of pockets. I think Jerome was gonna be good. I think Jerome. Do you think he goes to the hall of fame if he doesn't die? Yeah, I think he does. He blew up. It was kind of early. He looked like he had the flashes. Yeah, that can happen. I don't know if he would have been eagles hall. Yeah, he definitely goes in right now, just probably Reggie. That we can think of without Google. Higge chart. Ben Was a linebacker center, and I saw the scene before the albeit. Yeah, so I mean if you think about and that's a great question credit. I don't give you credit. I'll never give you credit actually, but writ about your sports history and you you typically know stuff like this, especially with Philadelphia sports history, and the fact that you have to think about it tells you how. Yeah, yeah, now you're right at the defensive line. especially in the Eagles Green. So we're saying four races. Is the more bigger to not win a championship than the Eagles defense from yeah, the Ms. He didn't play for the anchores. He was going to go to the Yankees after his white needed the fans because his his the fans. Somebody said something to her or spin owner something the Yankees game and the Yankees offered him to where did he finish his career in that? I thought he had to up killing her. Now. He never went to the I think he retired fired from the philliast his...

...last year had been. He pitched for us for three years. That's it. I thought to be more than that. He got traded. How many total years? Two years. Then got traded and then came back, right, wasn't it? I thought it was only came back. Yeah, come back. Yeah, he got back like a year. Two. Yeah, did well when he came back. Yeah, but I do remember. I think it was only his his like climax here was like Oh, nine to twelve, wasn't it? Because they went to the world series. He lost. He lost the game to the Yankees. Yeah, and then is that the season? He he won game one. We won game one up in New York for nine world I thought he was the only person who played well. He he pitched his ass. He pitched. He pitched here for five years, but he um, it was three and two, right, it was. He got nine, a leap, Oh mine and eleven the fourteen. That's good night. He got traded for Shitty prospects, I think when they brought in doc because they couldn't afford him, and then he came back after that. No, he was here with doc his second stint around. He got traded. Doc came in and Denny keys. His last team was Philadelphia and he pitched from o two to fourteen. I started in Cleveland. He pitched in Cleveland from o two to Oh eight and then nine. Then uh, CLEVELAND, and then Cleveland. He went to Seattle. I think that's t what is t o? T MLB? I don't know what that Toronto? No, that would be to a war Um, time off, I don't know, Sabbatical, but he uh, I don't know. Tell you. We traded him for Philippe ohmont and I'm pretty sure it was to Seattle. He played one year. No, he played one year in Seattle to thousand ten one year back he was. He was in Seattle and Texas and ten, he only came here for oh nine. Dude, look, look at this. You look at this. I'm trying to look. Take the beer guy. Here we go, here we go. He pitched from o two to Oh eight in Cleveland. Yes, then, what does t o t me? Oh nine, he pitched with the phillies. What does t o TV? But I'm going on. But you see it right, the shifted to the miners. And then twenty from pitched in Seattle, in Texas, and he came back to the phillies for even through. So so I don't know. So he finished the season in phillies. Yeah, he finished his three years, his last three years. Now it was last four years in Philly. He was four more years. Yeah, he had a total five years here. All right, so the four races? Yeah, maybe four races. Alright, alright, call. Everybody takes one to chime in. Then flying um or maybe shot. We'll close it out on here's your question to have for you. If one position on the eagles just magically clicks, quarterback's it's a great season. quarterback, quarterback, running back, quarterback, running back, quarterback. He's gonna say Punter. We actually do need a good punterer next year. sitball still on this team. Punish, he can find him, dude, he was horrible. We can find a punt around, find him, find at the chop shop. Yeah, we need one. I'M gonna go with wide receiver. If ragor and Pascal can somehow be control, if regor could be a first round pick, one doesn't matter. I like. Hurts needs to be good. He doesn't need to be Greek. Yeah, if he just shows up and can, yeah, I'm with you there. Then you got you got two first round picks and in a high second round pick, in a J Brown, who's already shown himself to be dominant. You could get all three of those guys on the field. Then hurts doesn't need to be he just needs to be good. Okay, yeah, but these guys help you make those throws. They give you those confidence here. What he has to say you don't want to hear. What do you have to say, hurts? Bring Darren sprawls back now. What's the One? He said? What's the one position on this team? If it clicks, if it magically just falls into place in his dominant position and it's it's it's a run. It's hurts actually, and that's the obvious. I'm gonna say it now. I think the ego go as far...

...as hurts can take them, because I think that both sides of the ball are so set up for to succeed. Uh, they got all the pieces in place. Now it all comes down to coaching and hurts, and that's it for me, those three things. Hurt Sucks. We should make smitty walk to shows and and that's that for punishment. I well, he could probably do it. You'd have to leave it like five o'clock, but he could probably make him seeing the eagles fight song before every show. Yeah, but doodle and school alma mater or something for for all the for all the hurts hate in the room. I'm not a hate well maybe there. Yeah, I I. I'm not sold. I'm not sold on hurts. I'm not sold on hurts as much as smitty is, but I really want to do to succeed. He's a really nice guy from everything you hear, and he's eat really easy to root for and he the Eagles quarterback, so of course I want him to succeed. I want Baker Mayfield here. Get out he ain't even gonna Start for they think for career is the weirdest career probably for a quarterback that he could that could ever happen. I think we had this conversation Grappolos here. Are we talking Super Bowl? Yes, I think we said that. Yeah, I don't know the Super Bowl, but it's it's a playoff team, definitely. He's He's a playoff. He's a playoff quarterback. Wherever he is, he's been playoff, super bowl and he's been to another NFC championship game. And his defense and his coaching. He threw the ball eight times in the I said I said this last week and I'll say it again. His coaching is way better out there than it is here. He's got good coaching. We got running game. We've got a defense. What running game? What year? It hurts, except maybe Tennessee was better miles and she was not better. Yeah, they were. They were. Well, they had a better running back. They had running back. Anything Henry is the only running back. If Derrick Henry was not injured, they would have had the number one running they still finished number one. You know, they finished number one. Oh, I thought you meant seed. Sorry, I thought you meant seed this, this cut it this car. Can we just cut them like no, but I mean I'm really not sold on miles sanders in the run game, though. either. The Duke can't stay healthy. Well, but that's the only without him. I get it. It's right. Hurt Sanders, but I guess I was on a show and they asked me about my own sanders and I said he sucks, and then, Marsha, he's like, you look like you never made varsity football. Oh wait, Sanders, kick back here. He's soft then. Come on, man, you're a pro athlete. I don't take chats at us. I don't know. Oh, I thought. I thought how Sanders Shiming in on the shop? Yeah, Hey, well, if you got that connection, nate, you know and you want to go back at it. Really great to get him on the shop, debate him. I think you're great, but you just can't stay he this make. I don't know what he's talking about and that's why he's behind it. As the fact that he's the starting running back and he didn't score a touchdown. It's that's that's a little bit. I mean, how many times we've seen that? How many times was there a chance for him to get in the game and they just didn't something. I mean and now. And we went and looked at the numbers and there were carriages where he got the ball twice, seven times, five times, but there was also times when he got the ball fifteen, twenty. You have your third string running back that has five touchdowns. What's wrong with that? Your second string running back hast six touchdowns. He had no touchdowns. That's like. Could you imagine being a defensive alignment, a starting defensive alignment, and not getting any sacks? Like you know how much you know we would. We would just trash in the locker room, like if I was in the eagles locker room, I'll be talking so much shit. You get this, you're gonna score his chicken man's going, I'm sure the like. There were a couple of plays last year where he was like tackled at the five and then they would bring in Kenny gainewell where he's like shit and like but yeah, if you're if you're in the locker room, if you're in the locker room where you're gonna give him ship and he's gonna be like yeah, well, I should have got that other five yard came back to me. Coach took me out, but now, yeah, came back to me. The guys in the contract year. If he's gonna show out, it's gonna be this year. Yeah, I hope so. And Kenny G doesn't like an every down back. I don't know, I kind of liked them. I like him too, but he's not your he's not your three down guy. That doesn't exist in the NFL. Um, Dalvin Cook. Yeah, you guys. Do you think he needs to go to the coach staff and say, Hey, get me, get me win the...

...balls inside the five? Well, I think he did, and I think that there was a couple of things that that happened that he's just bad breaks. One he gets injured and then he had the phone. One problems, Duce love, and it was DEUCER's call. Remember. We found that out. It's was deucer's called. What running back would get the ball. They just couldn't trust them, you know what I mean? So hopefully he takes care of the fumbling issue, because you can't you can't give up, you can't turn the ball over, you can't have a fumbling problem. And the NFL, as as they're starting running back. So Um, I think that his number will be called early and often and I think he will score next year. Um. But you know, it's just you know, I think it's telling when you're the starting running back and you don't score any touchdowns. I think that's that's how that tells. You're like you have all this talent, you have all this push behind you. You come out and say the right things. You know, you say you want to be the best and everything like that, but there's just something missing. I don't know what it is, but are just something missing and I think you can see that year after year it looks like he's going to be good. He looks like he's going to be because he what is he? He's a he's a poor he's a mode of a poor man shady. That's what you see. And all our running backs with that, running backs that can run and catch the ball. He fits the mode of what we have here. I mean you go all the way back to ricky, ricky waters, yeah, you know what I mean, Keith Sherman, Keith buyers, like they all are, that same west coast style mode that's always been here and for whatever reason, for whatever reason, he's just missing that Boston Scott is on a work course, even with the second game last year and show up. But he's back again too. I mean that's mean he's serviceable to that running game is the only thing on the offense that worries me. It doesn't worry me. It is what it is like. I think they they want sanders to be the guy. I think they're gonna give him every opportunity to be the guy. He's got to earn a contract this year. He's going to be motivated to do it. I agree with you. He can't stay healthy. We'll see what happens. Penn state running backs they run him into the ground. That's the problems. Like the Ohio state quarterbacks. They just don't running backs get run into the ground because that's their only offense. They got slow wide receivers. Now they got good wide receivers. They got bad quarterbacks. Is that what it is? Chris Godwin Duty, you've had what to what? He was not penn state, he was Hamilton's, Hamler, Hamler, I'm think enough. Hey, you think about frank o' Harrison, Hamilton's, and now you have this year. WHO WAS IT TO WASHINGTON? John DOTS and dots and Franco Harrison Lydel Mitchell. The only two running backs from Penn state that I can think of that stayed healthy most of their career. They Clare Thomas. They all the number two overall pick and now he's kind of be in talking. They wash. They all down than not. Penn State is linebacker. You. That's it. Outside of that you're not getting some secondary players, some lineman. Michael Porson's player in the League, although he sat out for a season. He's about to he's about to be a freaking force for the next it was probably and the kid from Buffalo. He didn't play a Buffalo, played in Jacksonville. Now we played a buffalo. Well, I remember he went to Jacksonville. He's the majority of his career was with the bills. I just love him. I'll just remember a little bar. I love the war IRINGTON. Yeah, get over and he was a monster. And what do he win? I ran into him after a test, like literally like my face in his chest. Did you kiss him? I should have. He used to work. He used to work out in the gym with his girl, like he couldn't he yeah, laugh, probably. I mean they had, like the football players had to work out in their gym, but he'd come to like the the intern are old building, whatever the I am building, whatever the hell it was called, and he'd been there with her, like spotting her and everything, and be like people like I hate it when athletes was coming like the Student Union Gym's, the Students Center Gym's, they're they're in there for one reason to show off, and it's like come on, do we get it? He was here with his girl, like if he was there by himself, off because he wasn't lifted, though, all right, he was. He was spotting her and probably making sure nobody else was hitting on her. That's the main thing he was doing, was making sure nobody was. Like, you know, you guys that went to college, like when you see that college athletes come into the Student Center Gym's, you're like, why are you here? You have a gym for your own sport, like go to that one. He can't impress anybody over there, I guess. But it's like his girl was looking at me doing my doing my crunches. He's like, look at this guy, he's all five six looking in the gym. Well, actually, I was in the gym and we actually, me and my buddy. We played, I uh,...

I am volleyball for a little for two semesters. I thought lape down the weights. We didn't. We didn't win. We didn't win. I don't think we only I don't think we even want to match, but we tried. Yeah, setting you up for a spike. How is this? That would work out. Every softball game we played for the wreck league up at pen state we got kicked out of because we were drinking and we would fight with the UMPIRES and they hated us. So we we never finished the game. Never finished the game. Yeah, there were students that were reft. They didn't want to deal with our ship. It was just like the basketball games at what they got pretty intense because there would be they had dudes, they had they had guys, girls and Co Ed, and the guys was three on. They five, five, five, I things. But I remember when we were playing volleyball, they used the best and it got loud. When the dudes are playing like a man, you're not winning a scholarship. Play it here tonight like the Coacha in here watching it, like calm down, it's freaking I am like intramurals. Come on, Dude, all right, I think that's enough for tonight. I think that's enough for tonight. UH, training camp starts up next week, like I said. Um, so we can next week. We are getting into the season football. You can smell it. It's in the air. Either that or you could smell it in the air. Football is coming. Um. So we are getting ready to roll onto our fifth season. Like other people present, I do not do that in the room. Save that for the car. So we're coming up on our fifth season of Eagles football. We're doing some plan and we're we'll have some fun stuff going on during the season. Um, we're taking a competitions and games and stuff like that. Um, but keep hanging with us. We appreciate everybody for hanging with and we will see, especially if you've been hanging with us for five, five years. Yes, I wonder if there's any five year fans out there than me and you. Yeah, I think fence to even stopped listening to this other other than me and you. Alright, folks. Well, thanks for hanging out with us a getting on another Thursday night here on.
